It doesnt matter who the coach is....Paul "Bear" Bryant would have trouble winning 2 games at WG....and from hearing about all this mess I think they should probably hire someone outside the community...maybe they can bring some enthusiasm and work ethic to a stagnant and 2 yr winless program.

That is the main reason. with wright in the ballgame south greene would have some leadership. He is the only one who played a considerable amount last year and he has the experience in close games. the others, without wright in there, didnt know what to do because they didnt have the experience

WG was without one of their starters,Jordan Davis but nothing like this was reported in the paper.

What foes it matter? And I'd say its been a while, because Coach Duncan wouldn't scheadule an awful team when he could play a game that would make his team better.

Well probably because he lives in johnson city, and has to young kids and a wife to take care of like he should, thats why, he still supports them more than some coaches that live here in greene county. Baughard does sometimes, but not like he should.

I agree both Bowles and Baughard supports the school.The one that pisses me off is Coach Carter he sits at every basketball game and never cheers for WG.He even goes to the away games and just sits there.Coach Carter is very jealous of other sports at WG when they do good.I would suggest that Carter just stay at home tonight because I get tried of looking at him on the stage!

Early will stay more than likely. i know who would have took it if they would have hired him when he contacted them but they told him to wait at least until after christmas.

WGHS had better hire a good coach because talking to some kids from McDonald and Mosheim they are looking to go to other high schools in the area.These kids want to play football for someone they like and these names came up DOUTHAT,GREENLEE,RIDLEY,and WILLIAMS.If one of these guys are the coach WG will have 60 kids come out for football.Thats a good way to start to rebuild and get some respect back from other schools.

Williams and Greenlee(they would be great), u know them(people who you go to church with)guys that you are friends with but you stab them in the back on here, no wonder why everyone dislikes you.

You are right, alot of two faced ex-coaches at WGHS!

It went both ways... 1st half yea u didnt get the calls at all ill admit it. but 2nd half u got the calls. it was a great game. the Game calling wasnt the reason of the outcome. the reason u lost was CD came out and played in the 2nd half... but u guys played a great game! ur a great team! but just came up short! goodluck aginst unicoi. but the refs wasnt the reason at all.

I guess you didn't see the same game that I did.Those refs were terrible,but CDHS won the game and I guess we will get them when they come to WGHS.

Its hard to play ball when you don't get anything from the refs. The refs have too much input in games, they think they can do anything, out on the court and up in the stands. How can you single out one person up in the stands to be thrown out of a game, when everyone is yelling at them, you can't. When you call a foul on a guy who is not even in the game and would didn't even play last night, I am pretty sure something wrong is going on.

I think Coach Williams got a bad deal.Should he have done what he did no,but the crime didn't fit the punishment.Williams is getting no support from the staff at WG.

What about williams, and greenlee. They would do a good job i think. Kids like them and would play for them.

If no openings are there then Carter will be the coach next year.Bible will say we looked but couldn't find anybody to do it so they will get Carter back as coach.

Any word on who is the leaders for the job yet, or any interviews yet?

Here is what will happen.Bible will say we just can't find anyone interested in the job so I'm going to ask coach Carter to come back and coach.Then he will accept and we will be right back where we started.Charlie Douthat is interested but Bible will not give him a chance.

Matt Bible I believe it was caught a loose ball on the sideline and instead of squaring up or looking for a teammate to pass to, threw the ball and hit Cherokee's number 11 right where it hurts. oh no I hope Carter doesn't have any say in it. And the way the coaches are at west greene there will be no support to the new coach, because all the the coaches are jealous of each other( There are only three coaches at wg that cares about the sports down there), and thats why west greene is awful in everything. No support by any other coaches.

with the list of names is the board of ed. going to change its policy and hire early or are they going to let everyone get hired elsewhere or let all the coaches in the playoffs get hired before thay make a decesion in the spring. for the overall success of the program the hire has got to take place before 2nd semester so the new guy is not fighting the time element so badly. this would be one thing the board can do to show that they are willing to make a commitment.

West Greene almost beat Cherokee? You must not have been in attendance. Cherokee held a 16 point lead until midway through the fourth until 2 Cherokee post men fouled out! West Greene was in double bonus late in the First and Third whereas Cherokee didn't even reach the bonus until the end of the fourth. Even then Cherokee could have still beat West Greene by 15 or 20 with their starters in the game who were on the bench. Finally when the Buffaloes arrive in Rogersville later this year they will be in for a rude awakening and so will all of their VERY CLASSY fans and cheerleaders I might add. Cherokee plays in a Full size gym not the 60 footer last night!

Hey man Cherokee's boys have bad attitudes and their coach doesn't have any class.Last night I saw alot of cheap shots from that Snow kid.

Depends on what team shows up for WG.They looked very good against Washburn but in the Greeneville tourney they didn't play well at all.I say CDHS by 2 in OT!

Williams has done a good job with these girls.Look for WG to really improve as the year goes on.

Brent Bledsoe took a David Crockett program and made them competitive for a few years. '99- 3-7, '00- 7-3, '01 5-5 and then up and went to Georgia for a couple of seasons. He is back and wanting to coach in the area again. He is hard to get along with but he knows football and can coach.

Sounds good to me.At WG we will take him because anyone is better than what we had!!

There is a problem with that though, no where to put him at WG and no one to coach at McDonald

Why can't Charlie teach at McDonald and coach at WG?I think coach Carter did that a few years ago.

with all the talk about the west greene job could anyone put out a list of names that anyone feels is a potential hire or names that have been batted around

I heard yesterday that Charlie Douthat was interested in the coaching job at WG.He played at WG in the mid 80's and is a coach at McDonald now.Very good man and I think he would do a good job.

there are coachs at WG that are deacons and sunday school teachers that are two faced. they are supposed to be living by faith and they break TSSAA rules and then try to lie about them or try to justify for doing it! if your such a wg fan then you would know if they played there. i doubt they know any thing about football, williams was asst. coach for a few years and he didn't help them!

You are being hard on somebody.I think WG has some good coaches we just need a football coach that will bust his butt and do whatever it takes to turn the football program around.Of coarse the kids will have to do the same this winter in the weight room.The next coach needs to get to know the kids before the season starts and find out what they can do.
