  1. Don't just post the scores. Your post was misunderstood by most of us, and believe me when I say, it happens to ALL of us. I read it as "bragging" over 7 wins against PJP, not a fan being proud of 7 straight wins for this season (you have to admit, that it could have been taken either way) and I read it incorrectly. If I stopped posting because someone misunderstood my response, I would have stopped posting several years ago!

So as DonC said, "post away", but my advice is, before you hit the "add reply" button, just take a step back and look to see how it could be perceived (this is why it usually takes me an hour to write a response and it still doesn't work sometimes!!! That's just the nature of the beast of these threads!).

Either way, thanks for your response, and I wish Franklin the best of luck.

First of all if you consider you and canes as most of the people then I guess i can't count because most of the people that responded to your post was on my side just go back and read.

Second I consider what I said as information and very innocent , Big G the person you need to give advice to is canes.

As I said before I will only post scores I do not need this stress. ( GO REBELS 10 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS)

  2. Again, that very well may be what the intent was... But with text, one never knows. I haven't read alot of posts from TTU so I don't know where his/her heart is. Apparently, if the above is accurate, I read it the wrong way.

Big G as I stated in my text to you I respect what you do to keep things civil. As DonC stated the seven straight was not seven straight against PJPll but it was seven straight wins. I probably will keep my post to scores only in the future. I enjoy very much the posts from the different areas of the state and how people love high school soccer. I'm just very disappointed in how my post was perceived . My mistake was to respond to canes. I think Franklin is very good team and I will contiune to report their success.

  3. While you might have taken offense at what Canes posted, some aren't doing much different by targeting him with personal attacks. To be honest, the "7 straight" comment did come across as somewhat of a "brag". When that happens, one opens themselves up to responses like Canes made.

Either way, we need to move on. I am not going to let this get into a bash fest on either side.

You know BigG I respect how you monitor this site but you are way off base I was only letting people know that

Franklin is playing well. I did not say anything about it was domination or how great we are. If you look at my post I only report the scores period, But Saturday I decided to let people know that our winning streak was 7 games. I

BELIEVE THIS IS WHAT THE SITE IS ALL ABOUT INFORMATION. It's like the poster after you said I was glad to know that they had won 7 seven straight if we play them we should know this.

You mean to tell me that I'm the only person to mention about how their team is playing??? We have an entire thread to a great player in livingston which she derserves and I mention something a winning streak and it's bragging.

    I'm done.

My post was this Franklin 3 PJPII 1 SEVEN STRAIGHT FOR fRANKLIN

  4. Don't pay him any mind. He pretty much just lurks on the board looking for something to which he can add a negative reply

Cane how many people get on this site and post scores and say so and so played great and the team played great and they are just happy for their team. and I say we won seven straight and thats bragging??? NO BRAGGING IS SAYING FRANKLIN HAS WON TEN STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. YOU BRING OUT THE WORST IN PEOPLE.

  5. how 'bout the next 7?

Why such an ugly remark??? I post a score and mention how well Franklin is playing and you make a stupid comment about the next seven games. If we win the next seven games we will be in the regional finals where we have been the last 9 out of 10 years.

  6. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Them thar's fightin words. I would doubt that Mr.300 would classify me among the Riverdale supporters. I know that Arman would not. Yes, Blackman through and through. You seem to have missed the point that I believe that Siegel will go deeper into state than Riverdale. Siegel's tougher competitve schedule is a distinct advantage. I just give the first game advantage to Riverdale.

I just think that Riverdale is pulling it all together right now. The several young ladies that I have watched play for the past 8 or 9 years on the Riverdale squad are pretty quick studies of the game, and what they miss, Ali will help them put the lessons learned into practice. Not a complete rarity, but they really seem to improve from game to game. Unfortunately for them, again, not enough high level competion to learn from to be in the last game of the season.

With regard to the Franklin game, I just think that Riverdale's back line is going to play over their heads during the fall break week. No school complete focus on soccer. I also think that their offensive attack is going to keep Franklin on their heels for most of the game. It is no longer a case of stopping Becca to stop Riverdale. Bottom line in my book was only 3 of Franklin's 10 wins have been against teams better than .500 while Riverdale has 6 of their 11 against winners. Loosing to a great team without scoring is just a testament to a good defense or empathy from the winning coach.

But again just a prediction. Since we are in the political season, I will revise and extend my remarks to be Riverdale with a 2 goal differential. And surprisingly, if wrong, it won't be the first time this season....or the last.

Franklin 4 Riverdale 2 As for Franklin being on their heels it was riverdale that was on it's heels.

  7. There will be a lot of good teams that stay home this year as in years past. Might want to have the district talk about moving represtentation for state to be the top two out of the district tourny if it is not that way now. That way the best TWO from your district go. There is no credible way to say that your number four is better than X districts number two unless thay have played the week before state. Sorry, not buying it, but /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> way to represent for District 11.

That is the way it is. That is what I meant because Brentwood will likely be the higher seed so that will probably play either centennial or independence and franklin and ravenwood will play each other for the second team to represent the district. I understand that good teams are eliminated ,but my point was that district 11 is one of the tougher district in the state and that franklin and ravenwood are two of the better teams in AAA. So to say that the eight best teams will rise to the top is sometimes determined in district play.

  8. No, on the face of the earth too!

Seriously, I don't believe that you can make that case for any district or region of the state. At the end of the season the current best 8 will wind up at State. While the level of competition played to get there may differ, you still have to play all the games to get there. Every game played irregardless the competition level presents opportunities for injury to key players.

Heck, everyone gets on here crowing about beating this school or that school from another part of the state in what sometimes can amount to a 20 minute scrimmage one weekend before there is even dew on the pitch in the morning. Interesting to me that TSSAA classifies these tournaments in the allotment of scrimmages, but the fans treat them as gospel.

Yes it is good preparation; yes, it will make a difference at the end of the year to those that apply what they learn from those weekends. We end up arguing who has played the highest ranked teams to get there, based on a what we have agreed on other threads is a totally arbitrary system (ES). Good luck to all and play on.

Example District 11. Of these five teams brentwood, franklin, ravenwood, centennial, and independence only two teams can advance. Most likely it will come down to the winner of the franklin ravenwood game to see who advances.

I agree that the cream does rise to the top, but when franklin or ravenwood is not in the state tournament then the truly best 8 teams are not represented. I believe franklin is playing it's best soccer now with a resounding 8-1 victory over centennial and being 6-1-1 over it last eight games with victories over hendersonville, father ryan, ensworth, b.g.a., harpeth hall and a tie with ravenwood (leading 1-0 with four minutes left ). without ravenwood or franklin a good team with be at home. Just my opinion

  10. From a more objective perspective-

Hats off for Franklin allowing only 7 goals-

Look closer and anytime they played a "ranked" team they were scored on (6 of 7 GA to be exact).

I would say with good probability that going forward, Franklin will be playing "ranked " teams,

and secondly they will be scored on several times.

The team lost only one game . While you're right about allowing those goals, you failed to mention that we shutout Hendersonville, Notre Dame, St. AGNES , Ravenwood, Siegel, all of these teams were rankedand still are.

The key is that Franklin's touch schedule will pay dividends down the road.

  11. Not embrass the other team. Clearly you knew what the outcome was going to be before the game started. HL ended with only 10 players, is that all they had to play? if that was the case did you start with 10 or all 11 STARTERS ? TTU my comment was not only directed at the 10-0 score that Franklin had. If you check out Oak Ridge (for example) they scored a total of 36 goals in their first 3 games. 36 goals in 3 games againest weaker opponents. Sorry to ruffle your feathers, but you guys are a smart bunch figure it out.

First of all the score was not 10-0 it was 7-0. Second did you not understand what coach BURCHETT DID. HUNTERS LANE HAD PLENTY OF PLAYERS WE PLAYED DOWN 6 PLAYERS TO THEIR 10 PLAYERS. As far as the outcome if we win we go to the sub state we have to win and we made sure of that . Also, Hunters Lane had only lost 2 games granted they did not play our competition but even so we played our starters 15 mins. And by the way we do have it figured out . I think if you called the hunters lane coach today he would say that the Franklin girls soccer team and coach played with class and respect. Without club ball in metro nahville this will contiue. The coach yelled at those girls constantly made better coaching would help

  12. Question: why in heavens name do you run a score up 10-0 on some one? stats? Ego?

I've noticed on Euro there are quite abit of scores that got out of hand. Is the art of calling off the dogs for the sake of sportsmanship dead. Whats wrong when your up 5-0 and the other team has'nt crossed the half line to pull your stars, or to tell your team they can only score with headers, work on switching the ball in the back.

I WARN you these other programs will remember the beating and what comes around goes around.

Please I would like to hear your commits. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

As far as Franklin is concerned vs. Hunters Lane tonight the game was played in a down pour the starters played approx. 15 mins of a 80 minute game. The rest of the game was played with freshman and JV players. Also, at the end of the game Jimmy Burchett had systematical pulled a player every so often too where at the end of the game it was 6 players from Franklin and 10 players from Hunters Lane on the field WHAT ELSE IS A COACH SUPPOSED TOO DO ???

He did the same against Overton High. The Metro Nashville schools will never compete with the williamson co. schools until they establish a club program within Nashville
