Power center doesn’t take advantage of their bigs like they should. I think they could have played that game out different.

They had the most talented team at the dance but were so outclassed where it really mattered.

  2. He was suspended, investigated, nothing was discovered against him, and the administration decided to fire him anyway.

I feel sorry for the coach in this instance and I hope that he lands on his feet.

Clearly the administration at Northeast was afraid of some retaliation from an accuser out there and decided to act anyway.  It certainly doesn’t pay squat to be innocent from an accusation these days.

I hope that he doesn’t figure out that he has a 6’8 kid on the floor that he’s underutilizing.

In the 4th Quarter of tonight’s game the big kid made several plays to help the team get the W.  Huge threes.  Huge free throws.  Huge finishes around the rim.  It was a huge effort and a huge team W.  Congratulations to Coach McCoy & the Jackets on the W.

One trick pony / I think I do remember y’all coming in 2nd one time

I remember Fairview beat Summertown in basketball yesterday.  I also remember Fairview beat Summertown on the baseball diamond when they played last season.

Chew on that at the family lunch today.

From my interpolation, The tweet was about race. Saying he has lost 3 black players over the years and underutilized the 6’8 one that he has.

Again my response is that he just won another District Championship.  I hope that he doesn’t figure out that he has a 6’8 kid on the floor that he’s underutilizing.

  6. Waverly has lost one of the better coaches on their staff recently as he has reunited with an old Lion; the word on the street is that another could follow suit

Waverly will miss the losses of Elliott, Dooley, Calloway, Daniel, McMurry, Fowler, Plant, and Maples

Waverly will enjoy the returns of Griffin, Stanfield, Porch, Flores, and Fortner

It will be interesting to see how other players grow & develop this off-season and/or if Waverly acquires outside help like they've received from Dickson County (the Dooleys) and Lewis County (McCann) in recent years.

Good Luck to Waverly and the rest of Region 5 the next two years.  Region 6 definitely looks like a monumental challenge come playoff time.

  7. Coach Brunetti, Coach Stewart, Coach Woods, Coach Broome, and their staffs do a great job and don't have to be shy about playing anyone.

Pearl-Cohn, East Nashville, Cane Ridge, and John Overton should do a three week double-header of games in Weeks 1, 2, and 4 or 6 of the regular season and play the games on Saturday evenings at Vanderbilt Stadium.

It would be non-region for all of them and would be a great way to put Metro Football in the spotlight.

Weeks 1 and 2 would not interfere with college football season and Week 4 or 6 could easily be arranged to where it wouldn't interfere with college football either.

  8. With the way that MLK co-ops with Pearl-Cohn and now Hume-Fogg co-ops with East Nashville it makes you realize that more of the schools need to do this with football.  Glencliff, Antioch, Maplewood, Stratford, Whites Creek, and Hunters Lane should all look at this moving forward.  It's sad because I can remember when all of those schools were strong at points on the football field.

Pearl-Cohn, East Nashville, Cane Ridge, Hillsboro, Lawson, Overton, and McGavock should all be the Metro-Nashville Football Playing Programs.  They should all co-op with the non-football playing schools and should compete at the 5A/6A level with those numbers counting against their enrollments.

Metro needs to cut its football playing schools in half.  It would help to make the district's football presence be more like Rutherford, Sumner, and Williamson Counties.
