  1. I agree also. Both Forrest and Moore County have great teams. Great teams can be beat. Forrest was more consistent last night to take the win, but from here on out every team will have to defend their greatness each time they walk on to the court. I believe both Moore County and Forrest can make it to Murfreesboro in a few weeks.

Go Moore County! You ladies are on the winning track! :popcorneater:

  2. Tennessee actually shot 46, not 56, free throws in the game. Still, quite a large number.

36 of 46 freethrows according to the stats. I figured it is just a miskeyed number above. Somewhere near the end of the third it was 7 fouls to 2. Tennessee has great freethrow shooters. The game could have had a really different outcome, as much because of turnovers by MC and missed shot as by anything. Good experience for MC. Today's game against Lewis County at 3:00 should be a good one as well. If MC can get consistent shooting, their defense will take care of the other end.

  3. Last Friday Moore County played well and lost by one to Forrest in the final 15 seconds of the game.

Tonight Moore County hit the floor ready to play.

Moore County 61 Franklin County 38. Way to go Raiderettes! That's the way a team looks that wants to play at the Boro.

    Go Baby Blue!

  4. With the addition of Brown MC has obviously add both size and depth. Jodie is still new to the coach's style and the team's style. She is doing fine and adding points and rebounds when she is on the floor. It is obviously early in the season, but the team appears to have a positive future. I think their record speak will have to speak for their strength as they move through the season.

Their strengths to me is ability for anyone to be high scorer. Also unselfish play of Kight, Howell and Taylor who are the strength in passing.

Four in doubles against Richland. A different high scorer against Summertown and Four with eight and one with 9 in the low scoring Lincoln County game.

Weaknesses right now...hmm...hitting the floor ready to play and not waiting til the 2nd quarter to get it together.

  5. Moore County 38 Lincoln Co 39. Good defensive effort by the Raiderettes! It should be a good year. As all of the pieces fall into place, these ladies will be hard to stop. In the three games they have played, they have shown that anyone can score and that the bench is deep. It will be a good year to watch this team grow and strengthen. All of these ladies should see floor time along the way. From what I have seen so far, it is about playing as a team. Teams win championships! These ladies are playing as a team. When they have had the opportunity to give up, they just dig in and play harder. If shots are not falling for one, somebody else steps up! Nice job Raiderettes! Fun to watch! You are a work in progress and every game you are getting just a little stronger! :roflol:

Go Raiderettes!!! If this is the beginning, I can't wait to see the rest of the season! :hungry:

The Raiderettes will be playing Cornersville at 7:00 Friday at the Cornersville Thanksgiving Classic. Should be a good game.

  6. Moore County 81 Richland 42 won tonight with four players in doubles (Garland 20, Vann 14, Thomas 13, and Taylor 10) including a freshman coming in off the bench. Moore County is a much stronger shooting team and has a much deeper bench.

Double teaming Vann left the outside open and MC made good on those opportunities. Friday night MC will play at Summertown.

Side note: For those that read the Tennessean today which stated that Jodie Brown is ineligable to play this year, that was an incorrect statement. TSSAA did deem her eligible late last week.

Can't wait to see how the season unfolds! There are some really good matchups on tap in District 9A! If you are playing at MC, our gym will be standing room only. There was already a crowd tonight! :popcorneater:

Would love to get the run down on how everyone else did?

  7. OOO! OOO! Mr. Kotter! I know the answer. Pick me! Pick me!

Actually someone told me. Jodie Brown formerly of Saint Andrews who was at Franklin County this summer and until this week.

  8. I saw them play today. I think they were actually missing a player, but she was out taking a standaardized test of some kind. Memphis Central won by seven. I didn't see a new player, but heard the rumor there could be a transfer.

  9. Does anyone know who is at camp this week in shelbyville and schedules?

Lincoln County, Hickman County, Forrest, Clarkrange, Moore County, Smyrna, Oneida, Clay-Chalkville, Dobyns-Bennett, Oliver Springs, siegel, Gallatin, Dyersburg, Mt. Juliet, Forrest, Marshal County, Chucky-Doak, Unicoi, Lebanon, and a whole bunch more. I don't have a good way to get you the six page schedule. Don't know if it is posted on the Shelbyville Eaglette site. It is six pages long.

  10. I am glad Moore County and Cornersville faced off again. It was worth the price of admission and then some. No better teams to match up in a district championship and both teams played like champs tonight. It took two overtimes to decide the game. Teams, coaches and fans showed up and were in it from the tip-off. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Moore County came on strong with amazing defense and multiple steals in the first half. True to form you can never count Cornersville out of the game. The Raiderettes kept digging and pulled it out. A true team effort. Starting five or subs...didn't matter. They all were ready to hit the floor and were real contributors. Good teamwork Moore County. Unbelievable foul shot percentage for Cornersville tonight. Just a great game to watch! Good job Baby Blue! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. Kudos to the Lady Bulldogs Supporting Cast. They stepped up BIG coming from behind to beat Richland in OT at Richland without CHS Leading Scorer Sara Nelms who got hurt late in the first half. Looks like Nelms suffered a deep thigh bruise and is listed as day to day. Moore County game Monday night will be Fun, again!

I wondered what kind of injury the Nelms girl had. The team rallied to win and she would have certainly contributed. Good job playing with the cards you have Bulldogs! Hope Nelms is able to heal in time to play Monday night. Hope the Howell girll who suffered a concussion from a collision with another MC player is up for the game too. Monday night's game will be better to watch if everyone is well and playing 100%. Well wishes to both.
