  1. Fans, parents or any else, are not supposed to go onto the playing surface for any reason. This is a rather unfortunate situation that the administration at Centennial will most assuredly have to address. RC took the coach aside and had a nice long conversation about the incident. I hate to think that those coaches are going to get in trouble for the actions of the father. Unfortunately we all know that coaches are responsible for controlling their fans and educating them as to their boundaries. Personally I would have liked to have seen security swarm and drag the guy out, although that would not have been what is best for our sport. After he barked at the coaches, people he knows and trusted with his child, like a rabid dog, a full on battle with security, perfect strangers, would have been entertaining.

What did he bark at the coaches?

  2. Lettner beat Coffee because he was better prepared this season. Steve Henry put him through a grueling season and came unscathed. He defeated 2 defending champions to earn his championship and should have been awarded the OW award. Have no axe to grind with Courtney, he got beat fair and square. The ending left much to be desired. Why his father would cover him at the end of the match leads me only to this conclusion: He is covering for him again. Did you see Mr. Coffee yell at the Centennial coaches and did you see them jump? Also, did you notice what Mr. Coffee was wearing, a JPII jacket.

Rumor has it that Ms Coffey said some things to last years 215 state champs parents that was not taken well. Such as"Be glad your boy didn't have to face Courtney last year". You have to love folks like that.

    :) Bless their hearts!!!!!!! :)

I sure would like to know what you thought about your ND parents when they were booing for an injured Seymour player. I guess you didn't hear that because you were so overwhelmed with the "cretins from the sticks".

I couldn't hear anything but the jerks beside me. Again not a ND or FR parent.

  4. QUOTE(Cretinfromthesticks @ Feb 8 2007 - 09:50 AM) 826363315[/snapback]

Sorry for the delay, I'm at work and taking calls. My post was supposed to be in response to the ND lady who can't seem to let it go. As for Saturday, I'll be at Catholic cheering the CFTS!

Sorry, I'm not part of the Irish. I'm from Middle TN. Just couldn't stand those mean mouthed men. Take care of those jerks and I will cheer for your eagles any day.

As far as naming a wrestler, I just repeated what your fan's were screaming, over and over and over.

Again did not intend to upset the Seymour fan's just the 2 jerks that thought they were at the WWF.

Well said and thanks for putting things in a more positive attitude as they should be. Both teams did wrestle their hearts out and what more can you ask for.

I was not trying to disrespect the Seymour community, wrestlers or coaches. I thought the rest of their fans did a great job supporting their team.

I did not anticipate that the topic would go in this direction.

As I stated I was shocked at the two men I mentioned. If my son had been the opposing wrestler and he would have been injured, this would have infuriated me. Those men could have escalated the passion that one has over her cubs/pups/kids. The bottom line is that someone from their community/team etc. needs to tell them to stop the screams for bodily injury to children.

As I read on another post these men/man seam to have done this at other wrestling events. You would think that someone from the Seymour family would explain to these men that cheering for Billy to win is one thing. Screaming for him to do physical damage is other thing all together.

  6. I enjoyed watching the A-AA State Championship tonight. Congratulations to both teams and their wrestlers on a hard fought match.

However there were a couple of middle aged men from Seymour who set toward the top of the stands and screamed the dumbest things I have every heard at a High School Wrestling event. They must have thought this was the WWF!

These so called men/parent's screamed the following over and over during the 103 and 125 match and I quote!

    Kill'em Billy

    Do' em Billy

    Bust em up Billy

    Hurt em billy

I thought the ND fans showed a lot of class not responding to these cretins from the sticks! They are lucky that an ND Mom didn't put them in there place.

After all of their loud mouth antics, these so called men took off prior to the final

    NO CLASS!!!

There were a couple of wrestling fans around me who said they were there to cheer for seymour but started pulling for ND after these loud mouths started.

Some good soul from Seymour needs to talk to these 2 men and let them know that cheering for one's team to kill and bust em up is going to rup so folks the wrong way.

Who will face Soddy in the second round? Maryville or Hendersonville?

Maryville, has the best match up's and Hendersonville is without there 152. Win Maryville!

Hendersonville's top wrestlers faces M'villes #1 at 130 and #2 ranked young men in the state.

Dedicated_Motivated-WC will not have a chance against SD. Maybe against Hendersonville and Tull but not SD.

  8. Just wondering.

It'seams like the 2 Regions in the Chattanooga area are the strongest in the state.

Just wondering how the rest of the state would rank the regions over all teams strenth?

    I would start it like this;

Reg 3 Champ ---Bradley - State Duals #1 seed

Reg 4 Champ ---Soddy - State Duals #3 seed

    Reg 1 Champ ---Greeneville

    Reg 6 Champ ---Franklin

    Reg 9 Champ

    Reg 2 Champ ---Maryville

    Reg 5 Champ

    Reg 7 Champ

    Reg 8 Champ

    Reg 10 Champ

  9. It was a good tournament for sure!

Unfortunately, I understand from talking with Ryan parents that several of their wrestlers had shoes stolen out of the locker room over the course of the tournament, sometimes while the werestlers were showering.

All parents need to check their children's bags. If anyone finds anything, where should they send the items back?

    What is a good address?

  10. Young Mr Cash acted a little bit like a thug during the match against the Farragut young man. I saw him walking around like he owned the gym when he was warned for the false start and was warned for stalling. Why didn't the ref's say anything to him. Also pointing to the score board showed a lack of class.

I think he is a great wrestler but was shocked to see his actions when things didn't go his way.

  11. But, were you even at the game. From the far side of field, I could hear Alcoa Fans screaming at the referee's all night. And it wasn't polite words of encouragement. What about the chant from the Alcoa fans "bu11$hi#, bu11$hi#, bu11$hi#, bu11$hi# over a call you didn't like when the ground caused the fumble and GP retained possession. Thats real classy. You certainly didn't hear that from our side.

And as long as we're talking class. When our #28 went down with concussion, just every other HS team I've ever seen takes a knee, demonstrating good sportsmanship and respect. But not Alcoa. Not on the field, and not on the sidelines.

:thumb: Maybe you can start a church league.!

Now I see why they call it GOODYPASTURE!

  12. Now that it is said and done... some final comments. This was a tough fought victory for Fulton, and they definitely worked hard to win it. Congrats to the seniors, coaches, and all players. Congrats to Lipscomb for taking your small school to the State championship. Both teams gave the fans a great game to watch. My best wishes to all the seniors. May you go out and make your marks on the world (on and off the turf). Lipscomb...as you go on to your college careers and lives, you will always have this memory and can say... I played against "him" in the 2006 Tennessee State Championship. If Rogan continues to grow and improve... we'll see him in the NFL. Hopefully, in a Titan uniform. I am so proud of the Lipscomb players. Everyone predicted a blow-out, and you held your own in your second year in 3A. Not bad for a team playing schools 2 and 3 times your size. Juniors and sophomores (and there are a bunch of you)... get on those basketball uniforms and represent DL on the court!! We are all looking for another great football season next year... we know you can bring us back to M'boro again next year. I also want to say what a class group of young men on both sides. I couldn't help but notice the incredible sportsmanship on both sides of the game today, and to the Fulton and DL fans for keeping this blog fun, collegial, and light-hearted. Total class for both schools!! Congratulations again to Fulton... 3A STATE CHAMPS. Tennessee HS football ROCKS!!

Now get all those studs out for wrestling!

  13. BC, I hope that you are a Maryville fan because I'd hate to get on here and see you eat crow. Alcoa is a great team. Don't get on here and be arrogant towards every person that isn't for Alcoa. Its easy to jump ship when everything is going your way.

Everyone (E.TN) to tell U Goddypasture folks what was coming!!!!!!!

Alcoa played way out of their confort zone and played the best in the state. The blue stayed in their comfort zone saying they were the best. <_<:D:thumb:

    Try, try, try again!

  14. It is not DII that wants the split. I could not agree with you more.

Didn't Knox Catholic and ND go over to the Dark Side? I guess they left to have easy matches against SD and the Owls.

If all the D-II crossed over then we have one true state champion!

But why give up all those State Championships in D-II.

In football some of the D-II play 2 games and they are declared State Champs.

What a deal! In wrestling it's a few more.

Play by the rules and we can have one true State Champion again!
