  1. Well the loser goes to either Friendship Christian in Lebanon (I'm sure Temple remembers what happened in football, if they play them home or away) or Pickett Co. in Byrdstown (far away, beat Temple by 10 in regular season). All I know about Friendship is that they are 24-5, really hadn't seen them on the CoachT boards. My prediction for the game is Temple by 11.

  2. This will be the 3rd meeting between these two. Temple won big in both games, but it is a region championship game. Plus, the winner gets a home game in the sub-state, and the loser goes near the Kentucky line, which is a fairly long travel that can affect a team's chances of success.

  3. This rivalry between Richard Hardy and South Pittsburg is becoming a good one now that Richard Hardy believes they can win. Now I know this rivalry has been lopsided (something to 1-SP ahead) but it has all the factors you need for a good rivalry. The school are maybe 2 miles apart, all the players know each other, they play at the park in the off-season. But there also needs to be good sportsmanship on both sides, because I think that this will be a good thing for both schools, especially when SP gets their new gym. I know that trash-talk is going to be standard but thats all its needs to be. Btw, SP is only losing I believe Starkey and Jones, and Richard Hardy is losing 10 seniors(if you include me I did play one game) But I believe next year's Player of the Year and the team to look out for in this district is James Woods from Lookout Valley. Also Robert Robinson, returning MVP Dontay Hampon, Whitwell's Dustin Chance, RH's Corey Zinna (if they have people around him, he can't do it on his own like Woods has), also are players to watch for.

  4. Here's box score for Richard Hardy and Whitwell game

    RH 10 12 12 8-42

    WHS 11 8 9 12-40

    Richard Hardy(42)- Joe Robinson 14, Myers 8, Zinna 6, Poe 4, Westmoreland 4, Lund 2, Howard 2, Stewart 2, West, Bryant

    Whitwell(40)- Brandon Copeland 10, Kilgore 9, Meade 8, Godfrey 5, Grayson 4, Chance 4, Thomas, King

3 point goals- Richard Hardy: none Whitwell 3 (Kilgore 2, Meade)

Highlights: Myers(RH) makes GW free throws with 7 seconds left.

This marks the first time Richard Hardy has ever qualified for the Region 3-A tournament.

  7. Well the Marion County School Board and South Pittsburg shouldn't have torn down the old gym in the first place. I'm not an architect by any means, but the gym could have been built somewhere else. Yes, the Crackerbox was horrible, it was slick,it was just flat out bad, but that's in the past.

Uhhhhhh....have you seen Temple this year? They're not down. They're quite up. And they'd probably win your precious 6AA fairly easily.

Have you ever heard of a school called Howard.....they beat Temple by 20.

  9. Didn't Arts & Sciences win 6-AA and 3-AA Region runner-up to McMinn Central and lose in the substate at Lipscomb the year before they went back to Single A with Marsh and crew? That's why they are that good. They played at AA with Howard, East Ridge, etc. and they know what it takes. Arts & Sciences is basically a AA school talent wise playing at a A level. But 23-0 in district play in two years is still a great accomplishment.

  10. After LV's win against Sale Creek, 61-58. Here is the unoffical bracket for the tournament:

    CSAS: bye

    SP: bye

Whitwell vs. Richard Hardy winner plays SP

Lookout Valley vs. Sale Creek winner plays CSAS

Should have MVP, Coach of the Year, All-District info tomorrow.

Big story on Channel 9 tonight: The South Pittsburg gym situation

  11. It all depends on what happens tonight when LV plays at Sale Creek:

    Here's the standings:

    1. CSAS (locked)

    2. SP (locked)

    3. RH (very sure a lock, has margin of victory tie-breaker over Sale Creek, and has a victory over South Pittsburg)

    4. Sale Creek (even if they win, puts them in a tie with RH, see above)

    5. Whitwell (if SC wins, they stay put at 5th, if LV wins they go to 6th)

    6. Lookout Valley (again, see above for Whitwell)

    If Sale Creek wins tonight:

LV vs. RH winner play SP

Sale Creek vs. Whitwell winner plays CSAS

Coaches' meeting I believe is Wedensday to set the dates and times in stone, and also to nominate Coach of the Year, All-District, MVP.
