  1. QB- Tallent, Goodson will possibly see some playing time depending on how Tallents Wrist heals back. And how he plays on Defense. Goodson has a great Deep Ball but he Will have to Show out in Spring and Work hard in the Summer.

FB- Tyson, Crenshaw will be in there if Tyson plays Defense. Or Warren.

    RB- Hambrick, Koko

    WR- Isom

WR- Warfield, K.Dean will be a good step up from his Freshmen Year. Also Jordan F. is a good prospect for his Size and Speed

TE- Mangum. Will Be Moved To Guard Most Likely.

TE- Warren :thumb: Much like Brandon was, D.Warren is a Strong Blocker and Can Catch. Would help pick up the Slack of Robinson leaveing since you will have Vee for Two more Seasons and Koko for Three

OT- Manuel, Will have to Step his Physical Game Up to Become a Starter

OG- Evans, Moved To Tackle most Likely

    OG- Mangum

    C- Rankin

OG- Stephens, Rumored to Jump Ship his Sr. Year.

OG-Loy, After an Impressive Freshmen Season, Loy could become a starter if he Hit the Weights HARD this Summer and picked up some Pounds. AND he has the coaches :hungry:

    OT- Evans

OT- Suddreth :D If Suddreths Pleas come threw from the Alt School Problem this year, Then he might possibly return. Other then That... Honestly its Open. But There is a New Linemen That Moved from Florida That Good Size, But no one has seen him play.

    DE- Warren

DT- McGlothlin, S. Johnson would be in the mix some places depending on McGlothlin's Wrist Healing and if he did get moved to DE

DT- Tate :thumb: Derrick Evans will more then likely play both ways.

DE- Henry, McGlothlin can be placed at end for his size and speed if Warren is on Offense.

LB- Wheeler :D Moved Back To William Blount

    LB- Crenshaw

    LB- Chapman, Tyson

    LB- Koko

    DB- Isom

    DB- Tallent

    DB- Hambrick

    K- Castro

    The Wrap Up:

Alot of spots have alot of players that could fill the roster. Witch is never a bad thing. The coaches have always said that Competition breeds Sucess. Or something to that effect. So this up coming Spring will clear the 2010 seasons picture up Alot. But as always I wish my Boys the best of luck and dont plan to miss a beat!

  2. I could agree with the reason of wanting someone to stop the bands from playing during plays and such. I mean it does have some affect on the linemen hearing the snap count and such and it really showed this year when Alcoa played Howard. Howard having a band that was Always Rockin and Well I think Alcoa’s band is the only band in the state that plays while its own team is trying to run a play, but during the Howard game I really couldn’t hear the QB, I had to watch the ball and that’s kinda sad when you’re the guy on Offense dont ya think? So I could agree with a rule of not letting them play during a play, but it has been done for years and I doubt it would have been as much of a problem if our own band wouldn’t have been helping them drown out the snap count... Maybe our band should just quit playing while where on offense??? ;)

  3. Just wanted to take some time out and send congratulations to the Lenoir City Class of 2010. This class of great young men has had to over come more then enough obstacles in there high school careers and honestly some of the most amazing guys you will ever meet. No one had really given them much of a chance this season and this group took what they had and ran with it. I just wanted to say great job yall and enjoy Senior Night. You only get it once and after watching 3 sets of your buddy go it’s finally your turn. Love you guys and best of luck against Coach White and Marryville!

    #51 Layfeild , #58 Courtney , #28 Andel , #2 Frye , #31 D'Ooge , #4 D.Cook , #23 E.Cook , #40 Craig , #18 Pardue , #68 Thomas.

    To The Class of 2011:

This is your last game as a Jr. This game really doesn’t mean as much to you as it does to your senior friends. Do your best tonight, If not for yourself then for them. Most of them put 4 years in this program and that wasn’t easy after what all has happen in the past 4 years and you at best only have 3, Next year you would want this advice to go to your underclassmen. Next season is your time, and it’s your team. Build off the accomplishments that were made this season and continue to grow.

    Good luck guys

  4. Well when Lenoir City played Alcoa in the spring , I asked Coach Zellar about The new Qb comeing up and the rumors that I had been hearing and all. And he said said something to me about the Kid going to C.A.K with his Shane Wells , The former Basketball Coach at Lenoir City. So Im not sure that he left but if he was related to Shane im betting he left.

  5. First, I want to say that alcoa is a great team, and their ridiculous amount of state championships speak for themselves. I also think that alcoa's defense will be a true test for Clinton. However, with the exception of loudon, all of those teams that alcoa shut out last year were just plain bad. Alcoa is one of the premier programs in the state, and they have proven in their battles with maryville that they can play with anyone. However, I doubt that they would have put up 8 shutouts against the level of competition Clinton played last year....again, I think alcoa is great, and they would have beaten Clinton last year (they might put it on Clinton Saturday too), but beating bad 2A teams who combined for a 25-49 record isn't a good indicator of how alcoa's defense will perform against an extremely explosive, balanced offense. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, while alcoa will be a true test for darian stone and Clinton's offense, Clinton's offense will be more of a test than the offenses that the tornadoes shut out last year.

Yeah that is true, Loudon was a good test and this year it would be more impressive to say that against people like fulton and loudon and Marryville and bell county. One team that was also impressive that wasnt really noted was the 1st round game against cumberland gap, They moved the ball well with passing and drove down to the red zone some and just never could click to score. That was 63 of the 404. So with a good passing attack you can move the ball some but you have to protect the qb also. I dont really know how well the Clinton O-line was last season but it will be hard to compare them to Mr.Football in Tyler Robinson and Returning Darwin Kerr and Darrell Warren. And the mix of Defense Tackles and ends. But yeah in the end it will be a good if not great test for the defense

  6. Well people can say what they want and win all the awards possible, and still be a good player and can have a 49 yard game and still be a good player. Payton Manning threw 5 or 6 ints and set a new team record I think? I mean every player has a off day , But a true test will be against that Alcoa Defense that held 8 teams scoreless. They out scored them 404 to 0.... I think this weekends scrimmage will be a TRUE test for this kid.

  7. The two teams they have lined up to this point are Clinton and Lenoir City.

May 16 is Clinton and Sometime in the next week in Lenoir city. The Lenoir City game is at Alcoa but im not for sure about the Clinton game on that Sat. If I had to guess its away? One of my friends plays for Lenoir City and I ask him if he was looking forward to playing us in the spring and he seemed puzzled and told me he hadnt heard a thing about it.

Its not nice to schedule the 5 Time Defending State Champions and not tell your players about it! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

The Spring games are both AT Alcoa.

    Clinton May 16th at 11:00 a.m

    Lenoir City 22nd at 5:00 p.m

  9. For some very odd reason, When it comes to Lenoir City Athletics alot of Coach's and some Players /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> , Have left the school. Some for better jobs and some for better schools and places to play. At my Freshmen year a basketball the head coach was Coach Tony Williams, I had Coach Williams for a P.E Class and went to about 60% of the games if not more. Coach Williams loved his team and his students and wanted to see the best for them and there future. No matter the case was on the court or in a class rooms, Coach Williams always tryed to help his kids. Toward the end of my freshmen year Coach Williams got thrown in the middle of local Polotics and ended up Moveing schools. I was kid of up set but I knew that where ever he went he would do the same for those kids, and anyone that had common sense enough to see that would let him do his job. Before Coach Williams left he and I had a talk who they were going to hire to replace him, We talked about how we both knew Coach Wells at loudon and ive known him since the 2nd grade. When Coach Williams left and Coach Wells arrived the place he was put into wasnt any where near what the new football coach at Lenoir City was placed in. Coach Wells was happy with his kids and done great things in the past two seasons with them. He loved his kids and done what he felt was best for them. Made them have a shirt and tie on game day. Made them dress the part and have respect for the game. Coach Wells was an great coach. That was one reason that he was able to go to Lenoir City and have that "Click" Right off with his players. When Coach White resigned as Head football coach at Lenoir City and went to Marryville where his brother is a coach. I knew the Coaching staff would fall get switched around. One thing that means most to a Player is to know his Coaches care about him. I havent been at Lenoir City for the whole 08-09 School year but I did go to around 8 or 9 Basketball games. When the football coaching staff left, Such as Coach Myers for Fulton and Coach Harris for Farragut and Coach Gossett for Alcoa, I was left with the people who I grew up with and our parents. I followed the person who I thought that was always there for me and was always at my back threw anything ive ever went threw. I would be supprised if some of Coach Wells players didnt follow him like I followed the Coach that was there for me. Congratz to Coach Wells and I wish him the best of Luck.

  10. I wouldn't say that Hopkey "quit" find out the whole story and come back...as far as this years Senior class goes, they did not have the bulk of the talent that the underclassmen will have next season. I have known this pretty much since they were in seventh grade that there were maybe a couple of good linemen, but that was about it. (minus the two transfers- TRob and JToney.)

We need some receivers to step up in spring ball, the rest of the positions are pretty much set.

*edit---I didn't mention Dee Herbert before...his leadership is as much of an asset as his football skills.

Ok Well I took your Advice... I found out that he did quit. The same story that he told me the day before our first conditioning workout. Not to say he wasn??™t put on the spot for it. But that been the thing about the whole idea of people talking about quitting. I was told by a coach that I wouldn??™t want someone beside me that wasn??™t fully dedicated or wasn??™t going to do everything possible to reach the goal of his team. No matter if it was 4th and inches or 3rd and 20, Do you want someone out there that you know is going to do what it takes to get the job done or do you want someone beside you that you might have to question there integrity. As far as we all know in the school is that he quit. He told me the day before he was doing it and he wasn??™t putting up with it anymore.

And the only reason I had said he was a starter was the post before were talking about the returning four O-Line Starters.

And as for the Transfer, Ill have to agree with a good friend of mine and say "Any one can go out and throw a football and make it look nice, But not many can put on pads and line up at Alcoa High School and make it look anywhere near as good." But it will be a good match up for the starting spot this season so we shall just have to see.

  11. Well a little bit of an update to everything:

Lately "As in since Tuesday 4/14" There have been talk of people making there minds up about playing next seasons. Coaches and players alike have been hearing the rumors and some players have been haveing the talk of moveing away next season. The only starter that has quit so far has been Hopkey on the O-Line. Hopefully there are not more to come. So far 3 have turned in there stuff from the class of 2010. We shall just have to see what lays ahead of this years senoir class. But they know to keep there eyes on gold. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  12. If Lenoir City Wants To Beat Loudon , It would be this year , Im looking for the panthers to come into this game Hyped after winning last week. Im so proud of what they done so far and hope to see it keep going. Good luck Guys!

    61-1

8/29/2008 The Streak Ends .:A-Town Pride:.

  13. I personally do not know the whole situation that you have at LC but I can tell you that you have tremendous assistant coach at LC I know he has only been there for two years but I can tell you from apersonal stant point my son played for coach Gossett at McMinn Central and he was very strong on BOOKS,DISCIPLINE,FAMILY,and HARDWORK take care of those 4 thing winning is easy.

Your right he is probly one of the best line coaches and people on the feild that we have seen this year. A hall of fame player for marryville collage and one of the best coaches ive ever seen in my life. Brian Gossett probly could be one of the best coaches in the schools history. And he isnt just that way on the feild but in the class room as well and on a personal level. Last year I was haveing some family problems and he took me aside and told me that he had never been threw what I was going threw but he would help me in anyway he could. And that ment more to me then anything probly anyone has ever told me probly. Just goes to shows how great of a man he is.

  14. I don't see how in the world you can have Farragut ranked 5th. They match up with Bearden very well (with better guard play). Toss up with Maryville unless Douglas is out. Better than Billy Blount and LC. Both teams are very well coached but the edge in player talent goes to Farragut.

I myself would HIGHLY doubt that aaron will play alot this year after being semi hurt in football and haveing alot of football hype.

  15. I'm so happy that you have your team mates as your friends and they are there for you. The realtionships you have made will carry on into your later life. My son probably being one of them since he's played since they had a Quarterback club. I haven't talked about the players and as for me not being nice?!? What!??!? Attack them not as men, just as coaches....that is two separate things!! When you grow up, you will realize that those things are separate!!! If you didn't mean it, you shouldn't type it!! You can quit bringing up the dumb as he looks comment, you've already apologized haven't you?AMEN Brother!!!!

Not as much as im bringing that up. Its just look at the part about being mean , Your probly not a bad person , not at all. BUT when someone puts there heart into coaching and all they can and about 90% of there life is coaching and all he does in school is try to build the football team. Almost every person that had a chance playing were ask what do you remember most about coach white , Probly he always tryed to get me to play , Is what most of them would say. Because thats just who he was.

Congratulations Coach White...Other than accepting Christ and saying I do, resigning was the absolute best decision you may ever make.

I hope you improve your quality of life as much as I did.

I hope some of you die hard LC fans don't take any of this personally, as I never attacked any of you. There are still some good people in Lenoir City. It's just a shame they aren't leading the school system.

And hes telling about 100% of the truth because its our old FAITHFUL Basketball coach "Tony Williams" Hows life man? Really should come say hey sometime because just like coach white some people miss you. Well he knows what hes talking about and I belived everything he tought me on the court and in class. So like we all know its not easy. =) Both great men!

  17. In reading all the posts, I don't know of anyone that would disagree with you about Nick's character, etc. I like him as a person, like his family, think his kids are cute as can be. I disagree with his coaching, which is far different than his status as a man of integrity. Most of these posts have been about what has happened to the team on and off the field from a coaching view in terms of discipline/no discipline, rules being different for different players, assistant coaches not showing respect to players or even Nick. I'm not concerned with wins/losses, just what my son is learning on/off the field by ALL of these coaches because that's who is influencing him while all his time is spent in this year round sport. Nick does not, and has not had, the support from administration nor some of his coaches. You can be a great man and not be an effective head coach, especially if your assistants are undermining you with players and others.

Ok let me say this , Your right we go on and on about the charater and etc. Your exactly right! BUT , I play football with your son. Playing football for lenoir city high school has changed my whole high school career. The bond that the players make out there on the feild with there coaches is something that is hard to put into words. If not for football id have more than 100 less friends. About 10 less men that I can always go to when there is a problem , Personal or even with school , football. It doesnt matter, I knew that they were there for me changes and that changes the way I look at things. And some of the things you said man arent very nice , lets not go and "Attack them as men" , Just as coaches. What I said early about as dumb as he looks. Probly wasnt the best words but you should have got the point.

  18. *A rare GovMan sighting*

Nick White is quality. He is a young man of character, integrity, and honor. I've known him since he was a kid ... known his family well. Lenoir City High School WILL NOT find another head football coach anywhere who is any better a man than Nick. Our society has become so much about winning and instant gratification, that we're willing to "sell our souls to the devil" if it will produce a "winning program".

You know what? I'd rather my son play on a losing team with a coach who would instill discipline and character and decent behavior and good sportsmanship into his life, then I would for him to play on a state championship team where these qualities were not present. Call me a big wuss if you want, but I want my son to play for coaches who will punish him if they him him cussing. Coaches who'll discipline him if he's trash talking or cheap shotting opponents or breaking the rules. Coaches who can discipline him and get all over his case without having to resort to foul language themselves to do it.

Do I want him to play for a "winner" and to be a "winner"? YES ... ABSOLUTELY YES. But not if it costs him all that is good and decent in life. There will be life after high school sports and it will revolve around lessons learned and examples shown in both winning and losing. In my opinion, Lenoir City High has lost two coaches now in less than a year that are "winners" in life and "winners" in leading young men.

I'm glad that my son plays for a group of basketball coaches who resemble the coach described in the final three sentences in my second paragraph. I hope and pray that Nick and his family will end up eventually in even a better situation than the one he's chosen (?) to leave.

Rare sighting... Right but since they pointed at that ill point at what I agree with , "Nick White is quality. He is a young man of character, integrity, and honor." I mean there is no doubt to that. Belive me I was there and in the post I had posted early about stoping to look at what was in front of my eyes. That was one of the things I was talking about. So I 2nd that!

  19. No reason to wait to work out. Why wait on a new coach? YOu can work out on your own.

Its not as much that "I" am waiting on another coach. We were told recently by the coaching staff the TSSAA has placed a new rule that you have to have a 3 or 4 week "Dead Peroid" or something to that nature after your last game of this years season befor anytype of work out. So thats what I was geting at. Belive the players that were dead set on playing this season worked out when the team had the "Dead Peroid" in the summer and we worked out at local gyms and such and it helped alot. So this one is 1 or 2 weeks more so just means more time to get better work harder and try our best to get ready for 2008.
