  1. ifgca wins out are they the region champs?

not gonna happen /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> But that would give Cosby and grace both one loss in the region and then grace would have the head-to-head game. At least, I think that is the 1st tiebreaker..anyone..??

  2. Well, There have been a few Hampton fans with some class on here giving Cosby the credit they deserve but I bet if the game would have went the other way this thread would have blown up by now....There were a awful lot of people saying Hampton by 2 TDS we haven't heard from.

During the post game interviews one of the Cosby players said " Where's the Muffin Man..??..not at Cosby..!! " /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

Where's the Cosby vs grace thread..??.

  3. story and video here:

Grace Christian Academy wrapped up their first annual homecoming penny drive this week. Their mission was to collect and donate money to a group or charity of their opponent's choice.

Their opponent this year was the Jellico High School Blue Devils.

"We wanted to donate the money to something within the Jellico community in Jellico High School's honor," said Kristi Stewart, a GCA faculty member. "We heard that one of the families at Jellico High School's house burned down."

With a recipient in mind, GCA students brought in their extra change for a week. That money added up to a whopping $4,500. Grace Baptist Church pitched in $1,500 more.

The $6,000 gift was given to Eva Lay and her six kids from Jellico during a special ceremony at Friday's football game.

The Lay family lost their house to a fire in late September. They are currently living with family members. Two of the six children are students at Jellico High School.

"I'll never be able to express my feelings and be able to thank everybody enough for what they did for me and my family," Eva Lay said.

GCA hopes to make the penny drive a homecoming tradition

I know TGCA did his best to get on here and tarnish the reputation of grace but this story says a lot about the students, faculity and parents of GCA.

Just thought I would post this as a FYI (Cosby is still gonna hit 'em in the mouth on Halloween : /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> )

  4. Hey this ones all on those young men for Cosby. The boys got themselves fired up and decided they were tired of losin to a team that they were better than and went out in the second half and took care of business.

When I saw the look in the Eagle players' eyes coming out of the locker room at halftime I knew the gane was far from over...

  5. Congrats to The Cosby Eagles and the coaching staff.

What a tale of two halves.

Hard fought game by both teams. Too bad there had to be a loser but it sure was fun to be on the winning side of a game like this.

Gonna be a battle on Halloween night for sure.

  6. Well, I'm getting ready to leave the friendly confines of West Knoxville in few and head to Cosby.

Hope all of the Hampton fans have a safe trip..!!

Say Hi to me and Mrs CosbyEagle at the gate. Gonna be a huge crowd tonight so be patient with us getting everybody in and be sure and tell Mrs CosbyEagle you like her jersey. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

  7. Does anybody know what he just said? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

from another thread..pretty good 1st post by the slapper

I got yall on dis one! Lemme tell ya what dat problem is - no discipline - no attitude!I'm a former playa yo... so I know. I have seen the same o same o for years. If the powers that be would have made Scotty Sutton head coach back in the day instead of bringing in crappy outsidera bustas and hiring back a bunch of foolz that the game past by, maybe CCHS wouldn't have been in the mess they are in for the past 8 or 9 years. When my team played up there, at the ###### Pit, we be danged if anyone would come in our houze and whip our arses. It was an attitude thing. The players they have now are cupcakes. They are soft as dog crap and they don't work!My cousin had a boy who played college ball from Cocke Co. at TC. That player worked with the speed coach you guys be talkin bout. That guy was great. Made people betta, worked people hard, and mostly importantly.... held those players accountable! I mean they guy coached NFl playaz and what does the school board do? ...

  8. thank you very much....DAVE. are you a recent member of the team or what... did you say #15 jersey.. how come...

No, they sold some old school Cosby jerseys a few years back as a fund raiser and she breaks it out for special games. pretty funny if you know her (and I think it's cute /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> )

  9. really want to get in this game for free.... whos paying.....

Hey Adam, Find me Friday....I'll pay your way in as a gesture of goodwill /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I'll be wearing a blue Cosby hat and should be near the blond teacher at the gate wearing the #15 Cosby jersey.

    or ask for Dave

You have to promise me you won't leave the hill in the back of an ambulance this time (or a police car) /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  10. I've started following the middle school players a little closer since I have a nephew who is in 7th grade now.

It's going to be interesting to see which county high school some of this crop of young athletes choose to attend (or which one their parents choose) Especially with football given the state of the CCHS program

  11. Question for Cosby fans.... why are you guys so good and the other school, Cocke County so horrible? Is it coaching? Does Cosby get the better athletes? When you compare the athletic programs of the last few years, Cosby is a whole lot better in both football and basketball. I was just wondering. Doesn't make any sense that within the same city one school excels and the larger school just plain stinks.

    I'm not going to touch this one.. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

    anyone..?? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  12. Did your feelings get hurt Friday night?

My feelings..?? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I was home eating steak and shrimp Friday night so my feelings were just fine.

Done with this thread.. It's Hampton week.

Good luck to Grainger the rest of the year

  13. #5 for us didn't leave the field all night and was still runnin around makin plays. Did I mention #5 is a Sophomore?

Careful, Don't wear out Brad's point guard before basketball season starts /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I thought he was pretty fast with a basketball but I think he's faster with pads on.

Good showing by The Eagles..total yards was (C-322,G-258) 1st downs (C-16, G-9), inside the grainger 10 yd line twice and twice at the 15 yard line but 5 turnovers cost 'em.

  14. The new troll. Don't even try it.

    I want an alter for basketball season.... /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

If you see The Hancock County High School this winter it just might be me /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  15. Ask just about any schools booster club president and he/she will tell you that the same 10% of parents show up to do everything, from clean up, to concession duty, fund raising etc...and the other 90% just show up for games and to complain about the coaching.

That sure sounds familiar. Haven't seen this at Cosby but so true at the school down the road. No charge for parking at Cosby but I think the different clubs rotate at the concession stand.

  16. 5. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams in its own class.

Doesn't this one kinda punish you for playing teams from higher classifications..?

I'm sure it's written so 3A teams won't play weak 1A teams but looking at it from 1A.....

Anybody know if the overtime style play-off has actually ever been played..??
