2. Way to go Eagles...!!!

I'm a long-time CoachT member and I don't post or visit the message boards as much as I used to because of all the trash talking (a lot of it was posted by me too in the past) . This thread has "renewed my faith" in the CoachT members. There has been a lot of class shown here by both teams fans.

Great win for The Cosby Eagles. Congrats to the players and coaching staff. Good luck to cloudland the rest of the year.

  3. QUOTE(RCSportsStringer @ Mar 2 2007 - 03:50 PM) 826397201I do have a question though for Cosby fans, is there any truth to the story that one time while somebody was shooting a foul shot, someone brought a shotgun in the gym and blew the ball to smithereens in mid-air? Because if that's true, I have to say your fans are hardcore.

    Yes that's true....Happens all the time. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Be aware, if you are ever about to shoot a free throw at The Eagle's Nest be ready

to duck because the gun fire might start at any time. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

  4. QUOTE(jim314 @ Feb 23 2007 - 11:47 AM) 826385813The 'draw' has already happened (that's how I know where to put the sectional winners in the state tournament bracket). And no, this will be the only competition for this year (maybe next year, but not this year).

    Didn't realize that.. Thanks

  5. QUOTE(goosevol @ Feb 22 2007 - 04:50 PM) 826384779I'll try to fire up the Bobcat nation a bit up here, but Cosby is one of the most hated (just because they beat everybody) teams around and every crowd gets fired up when the Eagles come to win. I really doubt the Eagles will be intimidated by the "Rage in the Cage".

Just had to quote this post from the other thread. Cosby is the big game on everyone's schedule all year long.

The Eagles are used to loud, rowdy crowds. (not saying it won't be a factor but not a huge one)

Sometimes I think the refs get more intimdated than the players with the home court crowds.

  6. QUOTE(Ram Fan @ Feb 22 2007 - 08:33 AM) 826384167Anyway, the better team won.

Cosby beat Rockwood in the regular season by 13 and 8.

I wasn't at the game so Rockwood might have been the better team last night

but I don't think so overall.

I'm kinda glad The Eagles don't have to make the trip to Wartburg though.

  7. I would rather players be posting on here confident that The Eagles are going back to The Boro than thinking that they don't have a chance.

The Cosby Eagles have to be a favorite come tournament time. We've got

a top seed for the district tournament. It's going to come down to the opening

rounds of the region tournament to get a chance to play sub-state.

The East is still going to send a couple of teams this year last time I checked.

  8. Todd should have had 18-20 assists the other night except for a few easy missed shots and fumbled passes. Believe me if the coaching staff thinks he is shooting too much or taking bad shots, he'll get to have a seat and talk about it.

He's tough to stop one-on-one when he penetrates and if help comes, he'll find the open man. Coaches who watch the Grace game are going to be scratching their heads trying to figure out how to stop The Eagles.

I don't see the reason everybody gives him a hard time about playing tougher defense. He and the coaches know that it's not smart for him to take as many chances and play agressively on defense as some of the other players because obviously he's needed when The Eagles have the ball.

You don't want your scorer in foul trouble

BTW #15 had a sore ankle against Grace. He's had a few double-double

games this year and is playing great.

  9. QUOTE(PTSportsWriter @ Feb 7 2007 - 02:15 PM) 826362172

thanks for the kind words blueTEN and sportsfan07

I just want to echo what these two have said.

We are nothing but pleased with the paper's coverage of our Cosby Eagle Teams.

(And I'm not just saying that because me and my wife's picture was on the front of the sports page) Keep up the great work at the PT and on the air.

  10. ramtough68, Welcome to CoachT. It seems like a large percentage of posts on here now is "belittling and degrading" each other and other schools. As you said nobody wants to "give credit to the young men and women that are playing in these games, working hard to improve, giving their best efforts for their school and team."

I give Grace a lot of credit for the turnaround they have made this season.

This program will continue to have success. They're a young team and program. That had to be a tough enviroment and a tough loss Tuesday night. The Ram players handled it with a lot of heart and class. Good luck the rest of the season (Just not against The Eagles)

I'm proud of the way the Cosby TEAM is playing of late. The Lowe Brothers and the Three Big Men; David Hall, Cody Brown and Russell Valentine are playing great TEAM ball. Also the guards coming of the bench are a big factor. These players all have a lot of class and give it 100% all the time. We're proud of you

The Cosby Eagles still have to prove themselves come tournament time when it counts the most. It should be some great games in a few weeks.

  11. The Cosby Eagles are playing great and will be fired up for this game.

It should be a huge & loud crowd and The Eagle's Nest will be rockin'

I think this will be a great game. Right now just 11% are picking The Eagles to win

on The Big Ones contest. The Eagles will respond to being the underdog at home.

    Good luck to both teams.

  12. QUOTE(justie129 @ Jan 29 2007 - 12:02 AM) 826349881

Grace only has about 150 in it's high school.

Thanks. They would have to double that before they got close to AA enrollment

I meant to ask in my earlier post. I thought somebody posted here that there aren't any seniors at Grace yet. Did I imagine that...???

Does that include the ballplayers and/or transfers..??

  13. QUOTE(chill @ Jan 28 2007 - 11:12 PM) 826349835

Really got to give Grace their props....They've beaten Cosby, Rockwood, and Harriman, all of which are well-coached teams.....plus Union Co is a pretty good AA this year...they are for real in single A.....

It will be interesting to see how well they do in the district and region tournaments with the pressure on and the huge crowds.

The Eagles will be ready for the game on 2/2 but they have 3 games

between now and then. Coach Flatford won't let them look ahead I hope.

Anybody have any idea what the enrollment is at Grace...??

It isn't listed on the TSSAA site. Wonder if they will get enough

students that the 1.5 multiplier will affect them anytime in the future.

From what I hear, they sure put the $$ in to building 1st class athletic facilities.

  14. Well it looks like grace sure handled rockwood. Was that game closer than the score or was it a 20 point game all night..??

Maybe grace got the tigers good and tired for The Eagles tonight.

We were able to rest the starters against Greenback.

Was grace able to do the same to get ready for harriman..??

I would kinda like to see them come in to The Eagles Nest undefeated

(talk about a great atmosphere) but I want to see the district tighten up too.

  15. QUOTE(inappropriate70 @ Jan 26 2007 - 10:25 PM) 826347523

I guess thanks..but that didn't answer my question at all

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I wasn't at the Unaka game so I can't answer your question. He sure had a great game against Greenback tonight.
