  1. National Search?  Congratulations to Coach Harrison, but a national search and you select the coach at Seymour.  I am sure he will do a great job at the Bro's but don't try to sell me this was a National Search.

So what would you consider a national search? Oh wait, it's not because they hired someone within TN? WOW, maybe he was the BEST choice. I certainly think he is, and think they did a great job in their search. MAYBE you should have sat in the multiple meetings and interviews.

  2. Because I like worrying about things like that.  Your last post was like a year ago...did I hit a nerve?

The rest of you have some good points.  In youth wrestling, the kids are taught to go shake the opposing coaches hand.  I have noticed that most collegiate wrestlers do not.  Was just curious when it was appropriate to stop.

    That ok with you 2blLeg?

You check when I post? Really? You really need to get a life, how pitiful

  3. So lately I have decided that there is not much interesting going on the wrestling forum so I have taken to make it more so.

At GP West, one of our wrestlers beat a guy by a close decision and after the match the other kid was so dejected that he simply walked to the circle, bent down and pulled off the leg band, stuck his hand out backwards without making any eye contact, made limp hand contact with the winning wrestler, and finally walked back to his corner, shook his own coaches hand and walked off the mat.

The omission of shaking the opposing coach's hand I took as a sign of disrespect and immaturity.  It also hurts the reputation of his team in my opinion.

    Anyone disagree?

why not worry about something more important in your life. Seriously

  4. oh so now there was an illegal cross face ? In a previous post someone stated that no Cbhs wrestler was kicked out of a match. Lol. Also, I was accused of calling out high school kids but yet I didn't name one person. It's funny you knew who I was talking about though if these things didn't happen. As far as the rumors I have been advised to cease and desist . If the Dii people want to pursue it they can take it up with the Tssaa. I personally don't care what you do over there. In fact I love the physical style of the one who was called for the illegal cross face. My whole point and the reason for my posts are in reference to ghouse attack on Baylor. It appears Cbhs needs to focus on their own programs issues before calling other people out on theirs. I'll leave you now so you can continue to feed your own insecurities by trying to make people see how much smarter and better than them you are. p.s Everyone knows both you guys various screen names so there is no sense in replying under all the different ones. Do you honestly think we believe there are that many people who like Cbhs?

There was a cross face, that the ref hit the wrestler for being too hard. So yes, it was illegal. NO One was KICKED out of a match, the wrestler claimed he could not continue, so he was awarded the win. How is that being kicked out?

and your last statement was so far out there. I have one screen name, been using it for 6 years now. My oldest son graduated 2 years ago, so I haven't even posted on here by once or twice since. So if you are saying I'm using 2 different screen names, you are so wrong. And if you are saying that you know that I am, then "here'syoursign"

  5. Are you sure? I thought that after a certain amount of experience, you just woke up one day and POOF! You're now an amazing wrestler. Nobody told me you had to be a hard worker to be great...

seriously? You wasted your time, and everyone else's writing this? Seriously?

  6. I didn't attack a high school kid. I stated a fact. Why are you going to attack the credibilty of a program and its coaches if you allow your wrestlers to taunt their opponent in the middle of a match? Have you ever seen Father Ryan or McCallie or Baylor act like that ? How would their coaches react to that? I can bet they wouldnt get on coacht the next day and start calling out people for their credibilty. I am not a Baylor fan nor a dii fan to be honest but I do have a few close friends whose kids wrestle for them and they a great people. Yes, you had a wrestler lose a match for an illegal cross face. Word it or sugar coat it all you want and say it was an injury default but everyone knows the truth . If I wanted to be like ghouse and try to make people look bad based on my own personal jealousies then I would bring up the rumors that have circulated the wrestling circles the last few years about Cbhs but unlike you accuse me of I'm not trying to make people look bad. I would offer a word of warning though. Your secrets aren't quite as secret as you think anymore and I'm sure if you insist on your current mode of attack someone will call you on it. It may be time to let sleeping dogs lie. I'm sure the fact that one of your studs is now at Baylor is the real reason you are so angry . Don't think everyone doesn't see that.

I for one would love to know what you are insinuating about CBHS. You brought it up, now say it. Can't start a conversation without finishing it, unless there are no facts behind things.

As for Tate being at Baylor, that has NOTHING to do with wrestling. Tate is and always will be part of the family, and no one wishes him anything but well. His leaving is something between him, his parents and the school administration, and have nothing to do with the wrestling program. So to say otherwise is talking out of your arse.

So come on, let's here it. What has CBHS done that is so bad? Don't think you could name one thing, not one.

And speaking of the illegal crossface. No one said it wasn't illegal. And what wrestler hasn't been accused of going a bit too hard at times. Big rivalery and someone was cranked up a bit, happens all the time. Talk to the kid, and you will see he is fine upstanding young man, that takes his wrestling very seriously.

  7. Have you read the posts he has written? He tries to persuade everyone to agree with his opinion by writing eloquently written dissertations that actually say nothing but a nicely worded view of his personal opinion.

I'm sorry, did I miss something. Is that NOT the point of a debate or arguement? To try and get the other person to see it your way? If it weren't then why argue. Like my wife says to me "you always think you are right", and my canned response. "Of course I do, why would I think I'm wrong and stand here and argue with you about something?" Seriously, if you like him or not, (which those that have grown to know him do), you have got to at least appreciate the fact that he takes time to give a detailed answer. He could simply say "you are a moron, and you are wrong", both of which might be true, but he doesn't insult, nor take offense. Just takes the time to help educate others. And for that, I am thankful.

  8.

Truth is, if FR wins, we're not even having this whole "shaking hands" conversation. Time to stop trying to villainize these two great wrestlers and decent kids.

This is so very true. Talk about sore losers. I'm sure the Father Ryan coach (who we all have a ton of respect for) is sitting around talking about if someone shook his hand or not. Matter of fact, I don't think I heard a word about hand shaking when FR and CBHS met in the finals 4 years ago, and FR won that one. I know for a fact that my son, along with others didn't shake hands after every match. We did it before each match and at the end of the dual.

Why not say, "congrats, the better man won today" and move on? Seriously, this does not look well for you, and you are not making others see your school too well either. Crying is never pretty.

  9. Yes, I am. I didn't understand that change anymore than the one being considered now! It just seem like the goal is to keep certain wrestlers home. Everyone wins everyone get a trophy, work for it or not!

yeah, I say get rid of all the weight classes as well, and just have 1 champ. That way, only the very best gets the trophy, and the rest get nothing because they didn't earn it.

  10. lol, boo hoo. How many out of state guys were there in the whole tournament? maybe 12? Also, you want to combine Memphis and nashville the two largest cities in the state by a huge amount to compare to Chattanoogas 300,000? Ba ha ha. How about this. Go out and create some interest in your sport, create more teams, get more wrestlers out. If chattanooga can do it then surely you can since your population is 10X Chattanoogas. That would be like a high schooler coming home saying he got beat up by a 6th grader. Im am going to nominate Mr Moon as the cry baby of the year award winner. Look back through his posts. You might be the most negative person in the world. Did region 5 win handily last year? Nope I think not.

Not sure any one really cares which region won. It's all about the kids

  11. You can spin it however you want but the bottom line is it was a total train wreck from start to finish. It have been great the last couple of years but having it all on the same day is just a bad idea.

I disagree. The coaches are taking time away from their families, and by splitting it you are asking them to take even more time. PLUS, consider the cost of gas, hotels, etc. You are just adding to the cost of everything, and the only thing you are getting is a shorter day. I would think that most of the coaches would rather spend a long day in the gym, then have to split it like that.

  12. I agree with this. Memphis is very long drive for 95 percent of the teams in TN. It would hurt participation in the state tournament. A lot of people would not go unless they had a good chance of taking 1st. It has to somewhere centrally located to make it fair to the whole state.

While I would love to not have to drive, I do not think Memphis would be fair to everyone. That would make Knoxville have an 7 hour drive, and Chatt have a 5-6. We really need to think of this as a group, and try and find middle ground for all. And also take in consideration that the kids do have school, so weigh ins, etc need to be worked so that it works for ALL.

  13. Starting on time is so important and the fact we did not was very frustrating for all of us involved. However, when mistakes on brackets are caught, we want to fix them. The amazing crew of people behind the head table busted their tales to get things right before the event was started.

Yes, I wish the medal presentation could have been in a better spot, but this spot was close to the gym.

The GOOD PEOPLE of STONE MEMORIAL did a great job all day.

Again Mr. Humor you may contact me anytime.

Understand about getting the brackets right, and I for one can sure wait another hour to make it right for the kids, so like I said that was only one thing, but I do understand it.

To be honest, the real issue with the medals seemed to be all the picture taking, that would hold a group for almost 10 minutes at times. Maybe have 2 sets of stands, and that might help things. Not totally sure, just a thought.

But again, I really think it was a pretty good job considering the number of kids entered. And I for one could not have done any better, so no complaining out of me. Although, the drive from Memphis is a bit much, and would love to see something closer

  14. While I was only there for the first 1/2 of the day, my opinion is all in all this was not a bad job. You do have to take in consideration that there were 740+ kids registered to wrestle. Pretty hard to organize that many and make it all work. While the younger kids did not have to qualify to wrestle, I would think that there needs to be something put in place to lower the number of kids that wrestle. Maybe something like, each region can put in the top 4 from regionals, they would have to a certain date to register, and then after that it would be open for the others but up to a certain number of kids.

The two things that I did think needed work were...

    1) Starting on time, if I'm not wrong, I think we were about an hour behind to start.

    2) Medal presentaion - this was a mess, and needs to be changed. That was the really only bad thing to me.

Beyond that, to me the day flowed well. You knew when the kids were up, because of the numbering system, so that wasn't a problem to me. And there wasn't a lot of down time to me, seemed like constant action

  15. I have a hard time believing two or three officials would say such a thing. If you want to name names, we'll catch up on that. I somehow doubt you will. Were the two or three officials in the stands with you? There may be a reason for that.

Ballsy has nothing to do with it. Read the Rules Book/Case Book. Number of shots isnt in there, nor anything you bring up here.

It's funny that just 10 seconds later, the EXACT same position was called stalemate again. Rule or not, you cannot be that inconsistant. NO WAY. This was a horrible call, and just not right for the kids involved. Bottom line, defend it all you want. It was not right, and the kids got cheated.

  16. Just because a wrestler is moving and shooting does not mean he is not stalling. To many fans in the stands, and people on this blog, think that because a wrestler is moving or shooting he is not stalling. The Mosley call was ballsy, but I applaud him for making it. It is about time a ref made the correct call. Mosley had the initial movement but never a follow up. He shot and then just held on to not get scored upon. He never followed up the shot with an attempt to score. He did this at least 5 times. As for taking away a state championship from Mosley, what about his opponent? By not making the correct call, you where taking away the state championship from him. It was tied after the call, Mosley still had a chance to win.

It's the same position they were in ALL match, and every single time before it was called a stalemate. WHY was it called stalling this time? Please, bad call and you shouldn't be "balsy" as a ref, you should call it straight down the middle.

  17. Actually, that is what everyone was hoping you would do.

    ha ha ha, good one.

First, I'm not a Fr Ryan fan, but I will tell you, the kid was screwed, by the ref.

Second, I'm free to say it, so deal with it. I hate that people like you get on here and complain about people stating their feelings about the refs, when we all know there is a problem
