unfortunately this thread has gotten to the point someone needs to say something stupid like can't we just get along or someone needs a timeout.....and I guess I just did....... going into this game the kid from Smyrna was getting alot of hype....and I suppose one could say the KEES havn't been hyped as much as some idiots would like......but please give it a rest.....I mean give the KEES some credit, as some on this thread have done, for being a very good ball club that wins with class....I personally know ALL of the kids from South Doyle hope that posting from some folks does not diminish what they have EARNED.........but anyone who doesn't let go of the kid from Smyrna performance/talent obviously has never taken off a uniform for the last time and doesn't even begin to realize the kid is probably beating himself up more than any comment on some stupid website could ever do.....So be a grown up and post like one or a the very least an intelligent adolescent...nuff said...................................................................On a more important note congratulations to the KEES on advancing to the championship game tonight. With a rested Bell and Holland and the bats seemingly warming up after the 1st game with Houston they have to be excited and hopefully confident but not looking over a very strong Bartlett program......GO Kees

hey heres an idea why dont you all get your stories straight then talk about whats going on...i a current jeff co football am in there everydady and we are gonna be just fine with they way things are and if they do find a new coach we will be fine then to JEFF CO football is back no doubt about it...

While I can appreciate your enthusiasm for JC football, I think you need to spend some of that energy in English class. Your grammer is horrible. I propose a man law... no posting on the T unless you are educated enough to write correctly!!!

THis is a case where I THINK the brackets should be reset, and not match up two teams from the same district in the semis. I am not saying that one district is stronger than the other, but I do think it could make for a better tourney.

Let's hope not. The travel, especially the Tuesday night games, would make it very difficult on fans, players and coaches. It also destroys regional rivalries. I wish football would go back to AAA.

Don't rule out that both coaches in game 1 are in their last game.

Any word on what these charges where against the coach.

For the most part, parents are ignorant when it comes to a team concept. Unless little Johnny is the star, most parents want to find every "reason" he is not the star except that he is not very good. Most of the time, the parents should be thanking the coach for keeping him on the team instead of griping about coaching.

Dream...I was not meaning to bash the Coaches as it may had sounded....I was putting in my word of what I was told by parents of previous players and current players under both Coaches. I have to agree with Ballin because there has to be more to it if both players did not start against Clinton but stuck through it. I am sure Coach Williams and Coach Lee are good people but from the reviews I have heard on both coaches from players and parents who are around them most of them time is not very pleasent. To me it feels that if you want to child to be sucessful for any sport to maybe play ball at a Junior College or D2 school you need to go somewhere that puts themselves on the map as a contender and Lenoir City just doesn't seem to do that....

 

Seems to me that TOO MANY parents believe their kid is a DII prospect as a 7th or 8th grader and that's just too early to tell. I mean Damon Bailey of

Indiana fame was hung with that glory and there were still doubters.....and that was nearly 20 years ago when, let's face it,basketball was a different animal. I wish parents would leave these coaches alone and let them do their job, the ONLY way to build a winning program is to work at it and play the best kids you have in a program seniors or freshmen....I've been part of winning programs snd losing ones, not only in high school but at the collegiate levels and the old addage that players make plays has never been more true.....Good coaching is a set of solid Xs and Os.......a knack for making substitutions..... and a drive to win/get better....you can have all of that and still not win....Players execute or don't execute plays..and unfortunately, not many players consistently work at getting better or being good!!!!!!!!!!!
