1. QUOTE(Boro Balla06 @ Mar 4 2007 - 11:02 AM) 826399259instead of saying who we believe is best.. who is getting looked at for college? ive heard that james holt from riverdale is being looked at by memphis and he is only a junior.. so i would have to say that is pretty good.. anyone else receiving looks?

junior year is when you're supposed to start getting looked at, so a lot of juniors are being talked to by schools. anyway, last time i talked to james he was talking to UAB also.

  2. QUOTE(GREG141 @ Mar 3 2007 - 05:04 PM) 826398469jp2 1 Notre Dame 0

    jp2 2 Ooltewah 1

    jp2 1 McCallie 0

    all this weekend.

since you follow jp2, whats the deal with will maddux? i heard he wasnt gonna be coming back to jp2. is that just a rumor?

  3. QUOTE(OSUSoccer @ Mar 3 2007 - 10:00 AM) 826398141Darsinos from MBA is the best forward in the state hands down. Left footed upper ninety last night against Hendersonville where MBA won 3-0. If you were to watch him play you would be impressed, can any of you guys say you are turning down duke as well?

no doubt, darsinos is as good as it gets.

  4. im assuming brentwoods defense will be stout this year. i know they have danny rayburn and hes, no doubt, one of the best defenders in state.

hendersonville also has a good defense. they're very smart in the back. t.j. brown is one of the better defenders in state, so having him is always a plus.

  5. stephen morrissey, graham williams and juan barrios from bga work very well together. all three work very hard and make good decisions.

i dont know all of their names but hendersonville has a very good midfield. sutton cash is the only name i know, but their midfield is very good.

  6. QUOTE(OSUSoccer @ Mar 1 2007 - 08:47 AM) 826394650hey jack...how about them gators huh??..vandy, lsu, and now tennessee??..ouch!!

haha they're not doing to well right now, brad. your buckeyes aren't looking to bad right now.

  7. QUOTE(OSUSoccer @ Feb 28 2007 - 10:36 PM) 826394293so little bristol had a good game eh?..and who is luke ridings?

luke ridings is a sophmore that plays for the chaos. he's not as big as bristol, but he's still very good.

  8. we just got done playing hendersonville and they are very good. i cant say whose better between brentwood and hendersonville but brentwood also has a lot of talent. the game between these two is going to be a good one to watch.

  9. QUOTE(ihavenofriendzz @ Feb 26 2007 - 07:23 PM) 826390548yeah its not like Farragut lost to every team they played in South Carolina. They played South Carolinas best and lost to 1 of them in the tournament championship. look at the teams they played last year and where they ended up in the state at the end. they were all in the top 5 of their class. Farragut lost 1 game there and won 3 and tied 1.

You dont have to have played a game to be national champs. you just have to be #1 in a poll that covers the nation. this has nothing to do with soccer but i hate how the winner of the Super Bowl is hte "world champs" who else in the world do NFL teams play? no one. ok then. i guess all the national championships that college teams claim in football before there was an actual national championship game cant claim a national championship because they didnt win a "national championship" game. back then they went by who was number 1 in polls. if you were number 1 you were technically a national champion. so stop getting all mad about it. thats just the way it is. i guess the plaque in the lobby of Farraguts gym isnt real or anything. its just a made up award that was given to a team that just happened to be ranked 1st in a national poll. they didnt earn it or anything. i mean automatically since they were from Tennessee people shouldve realized that they cant be good because Tennessee is a football state. that wouldnt make any sense for a school to be really good at soccer. its hard to say there are national champions for any high school sport because there are no national championship games. you just have to go by who is #1 in the polls. which just happened to be Farragut in 2004 and Bearden in whatever other year. in another poll Farragut was #2 so then on that poll another team was national champs and people just happen to use the poll that Farragut was #1 in more than the other one.

edit: These are the teams Farragut played in SC and the score of the game and where the team ended up in state at the end of the season... according to Eurosportscoreboard.com

Farragut defeats Spring Valley 3-2. Spring Valley ends the season 2nd in 4A and lost 1-0 to Northwestern in the state championship.

Farragut defeats Riverside 3-1. Riverside won the state championship in 3A and finished obviously #1.

Farragut tied Wando 1-1. Wando lost to Spring Valley in the state tournament and ended the season ranked 3rd in 4A.

Farragut defeats Hilton Head 3-2. Hilton Head lost to Wando in the quarterfinals and finished ranked 5th in state.

Farragut lost to Northwestern 10-1 in the tournament championship. Nortwestern finished the season ranked #1 in 4A and won the state championship by 1 over Spring Valley.

    what else do you need?

edit again: Riverside defeated Dreher in the state championship who beat Northwestern on PKs.

doesnt mean Farragut shoulda beat Northwestern but i thought id throw that in there.

yeah, you're right, farragut shoulda beaten Northwestern. but instead, they lost 10-1. at least it wasnt a blowout or anything...........

you don't lose by 9 goals on an off day. they lost b/c Northwestern was a better team. plus, just b/c you beat a team doesnt mean you'll beat another. this entire arguement about NC's is pretty pointless, really.

  10. QUOTE(ZORGON @ Feb 24 2007 - 04:45 PM) 826387447TOP 10 RANKINGS

    #1) FARRAGUT

    #2) HOUSTON

    #3) HENDERSONVILLE

    #4) CHRISTIAN BROTHERS

    #5) CAK

    #6) BEARDEN

    #7) KNOXVILLE CATHOLIC

    #8) BRENTWOOD

    #9) BAYLOR

  11. QUOTE(rebelj @ Feb 20 2007 - 06:07 PM) 826381633My 2007 Predicted order of finish

    1. Brentwood - gotta go with the perennial team to beat

    2. Ravenwood - great coach, have made long strides the past 2 years

    3. Independence - excellent young talent, will be dangerous this year and look out next year

    4. Franklin - Competitive side who could surprise some of the above teams

    5. Centennial - Dropped off last 2 years, middle of the pack team

    6. Overton

    7. Hillsboro

    8. Hillwood

    9. Hickman County

Also, just curious, who are all the top players returning on each team and what year are they?

    i know 4 from brentwood,3 are juniors and 1 is a sophomore:jordan leedle(gk),brad jacobs(forward),danny rayburn(defender), and michael giordano(midfield i think)

  12. QUOTE(futbolman123 @ Feb 18 2007 - 01:53 PM) 826377618no. he surely must mean daniel (although he is at Indiana). patrick kelly (although a good player) will not carry the hhs team. farragut is loaded this year

yeah i was saying that b/c daniel kelly is at IU. but patrick is one of the better sophomores in the state if not the best so he'll definitely make a big impact for hendersonville.

  13. QUOTE(OnThePitch @ Feb 16 2007 - 09:08 PM) 826375233

MJUB, I have some questions for you on your top 25, not arguments, heck I don't know , you may know more than all of us, but wondered your theory

#1CBHS- Has loads of talent, but the best? They haven't had a club champion in the Memphis area at High School age in awhile, so the feeders are not the very best anymore but Lima is a very good coach

#2 Hendersonville- Lost some very good players and Daniel Kelly can not carry that whole team. They were outshot at least 2 shots for every-1 by both Houston and Farragut in the state playoffs last year but managed to win, any other day it would have been the other way around

#3 Farragut Probably should be in your top 2, returns a boatload of talent , and probably the best offensive team in the state but has Nemesis named Bearden that gets in their way every year somehow

#4 Houston-Arguably the best defensive team last year and this year and returns their key players but will have to generate more scoring from the field

#5 Bearden Probably deserve overall #1 Ranking, Returning State Champions in Big School, they lost some key players but have the horses to fill in

Let me know what you think of my assesment?

i think you mean patrick kelly
