What I've noticed that the order they fall in is #1. Perfume, #2. Car Keys & then #3. Curve Bal !!!!

Many Ball players with alot of talent have fell under the spell of perfume.

 

This just in Tullahoma 5, Lawrence Co. 4. Big win for the Cats. This Team and the Coaching Staff were way over due to win a close Game.

Congrats to GREAT coaching Staff and T-Town Kids.

I know they have worked hard. The town needs to be supportive because they are lucky to have Coach White as their baseball coach!

I would go with odle from lexington or the guy from union city(used to be with mckenzie). I just moved back to West Tennessee recently and these were the two best in my opinion from 2 years ago

Garren and Edwards are seniors. HC also has a good freshman group with several players that could see early playing time and a chance to contribute.

Hickman County and East Hickman WILL be alot better. They both will be very well coached this year, and an old coach of theirs wishes them the best of Luck in a tough District.

IMPRESSIVE win for HC over LC.... but I am afraid G'pasture will prove to be to much....

I just know that at the Lewis County game I was around several west tennessee folks that kept saying that Hickman County was MUCH better than Camden and Camden played GP close..

Now with that one being said if HC does not bring their "A" game than I could be wrong but if they do those GP folks better watch out!!!

Exactly how many points does lewis county get on the scoreboard at the Start of the game right before kickoff for playing at HOME... 7,14,21,28 ... Oh wait I forgot the only way a team scores or a game is won or lost are by the kids playing the game NOT the crowd or location..Wait tell me something I may not know, are the end zones bigger when Lewis County has the ball, are the goal post wider, can they play with 14 players on the field when the game is in Hoenwald... Tell me how the game being in Hoenwald will effect the outcome.. PLEASE EXPLAIN.... THE BEST TEAM WILL WIN.... I suppose Georgia would have beaten Tennessee a couple weeks ago if it were in Athens.. NO NO NO not the way both teams played that way they could have played anywhere that DAY tennessee was just better... The field has NO outcome on the game, other than celebrating after a win.. and that being more exciting I.E Kentucky...

If lewis county was such a tough place to play How come they cant win a 3rd or 4th round play off game there when they host?? Heck even sometimes 2nd rounders are tough for them.. again I will tell you why it is who they are playing in these games and not WHERE the game is!!!

If a kid is a true competitor the CROWD NOISE WILL NOT EFFECT HIM....We are NOT talking about 75,000 in a dome we are talking about 6 or 7,000 in hoenwald Tennessee.. I suppose if the noise was so loud swenson may have had them going with a silent count... What a STUPID comment to say that the game being in HOENWALD will have ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE OUTCOME.... A true competitor does not worry about outside environment issues. What the world would you want Hickman County to say if they were to get beat "we would have won if it were in Centerville" Crap no that is Low class... The HOme field should not have ANY outcome on this game...

The best team that given night WILL win no matter if they played in Hoenwald, Centerville, Brushy, Aetna, Waynesboro, Murfresboro, or in my back yard... It may be Hickman County It may be Lewis County.... we will find out...

Actually it isn't, Swenson has never been successful with the Wing-T in the playoffs, he help win a state championship and made Huntindon a dominate force in 2A when they went to the I formation. The Wing T led to early playoff exits for the mustangs. He has to know he has to change somethings come playoff time, because if Hickman draws a CPA, Camden, Goodpasture in the playoffs they will make you wish you had multiple defenses. Please don't compare Hickman Co. to Goodpasture, Lipscomb, surprise you didn't mention Riverdale as well.

 

Like I said we are all waiting for the awesome passing game to show up cause I mean cmon if you guys can run the ball so well, if you guys can pass I mean go ahead and call up GQ and set up a game with Maryville.

Huntingdon was in the wing t in the state title game against Lipscomb.. TRust me, go watch the film if you think not Terrence Bell had 350 yards running the Jet sweep alone in that game.. sure he ran some I formation and still does.. They ran strickly the solid I against East Robertson... and for the wing t not working in the playoffs.

I noticed in the Tennessean that Sowell didn't play????

I wasnt there but I heard he dressed and didnt play!!

Trust me they are way more than a one man show.. I know that wasnt what you were implying however I think it is a great testament to the work those kids and coaches put in to be a complete team...

I personally think this is the second most impressive win next to the Marshall county one... just because he didnt play and the way I heard they dominated the football game..

Soft schedule? Lewis Co. has a soft schedule...not hc. Thats all presumption on marshall. HC might beat them worse. One dimensional....seems i've heard that before in another time and another place. I grew to like one dimensional.Its a vicious attack that you have to see to believe.

Hickman County is NOT one dimensional.... THEY RUN TO THE LEFT AS MUCH AS THEY RUN TO THE RIGHT!!!!

??????? who said anything about the program not getting supported? They have all the support they could want. at Richland the East fans outnumbered the Home fans, they have all the support needed. Coaches /Players have 100% support. There are some bad apples that still have not been weeded out ( parents/players) but I think it is coming soon. I am just watching the show. Coach Jones does not play the head game with them, if you screw up ,show disrespect ,break team rules your gone........no questions. It frustrates the ones that have been allowed to show thier butt all these years. I have heard several parents since the season has started try to gather a little following, making claims of poor coaching, they should of stayed in Centerville, we have made a big mistake. The only ones listening are the same old head cases that have plaged any program they are associated with. Rome wasnt built in a day........... This is just some bumps in the road. They'll fix the bumps and move on.

Now, I have the upmost admiration for Coach Jones taking this job and I am sure he is doing a great job. However the support factor 1st down was talking about may not be so much the parents as in the High Up admin.. If I had to guess that is what he was refering to... Best of Luck to all involved!!!

Unfortunately this is sometimes like pulling teeth when you are outsized, slower, and weaker than the opposition. Swenson is a pretty good coach that has done an excellent job at HCHS since coming over from Huntingdon where he was the offensive coordinator for years under Mansfield.

 

Swenson & Loope know one another very well ksgovols. As I just stated Swenson was the offensive coordinator at Huntingdon for years under Coach Mansfield. Coach Loope was the defensive coordinator for years at Harpeth under Coach Winkler. Didn't Harpeth & Huntingdon play one another 4 TIMES in the playoffs ('97, '99, '01, & '03)??????

What was the score of those games??

I am sure the night in 97 when huntingdon threw the ball only 1 time in the game Harpeth did a great job of keeping their gap responsibility that night!!!

Yes fool, you are correct my loyalty lies with east, when we are playing each other, but outside of that circle I hope the Bulldogs win every game...... That # 2 Sowell they are talking about I have known since he was a baby. I know many of those kids thier whole lives, . But my loyalty is with East .....So what is your point?

well why dont u give us are eastpeople who came to east all their lives and still live in east...... just when ever the east kids were comming back to east for the NEW EAST school and some of them centerville coaches and teachers were talkin the east kids to stay in centervillethat is the reason we dont have a strong team THIS YEAR....but......2more years thats going to be a blow out against centerville.

This Friday is the "buy " week for them. They play Sept 7th in Collinwood , and the first ever home game is Sept 14th hosting Stewart County. Win or lose, that game will be a happy day for those kids. Finally

HC may win several games this year only because they are playing with 4A numbers in a 2A environment. After a couple of years it will be same ole same ole. Besides, if they beat Bruceton 20-0, I hear Bruceton is really down this year and they're single A.

I agree people should keep their mouth shut about East, they will be fine in a couple of years.

however papa tiger. Hickman County is NOT playing with 4A numbers, dont know where you get your info their school has 650 or so kids that is not 4a numbers. Also Bruceton is single A, they have thier Mr. Football finalist back and they were in the Murphy Fair preseason top 5 on his website. So please before you get on here making statements make sure they are correct. To say they will win ONLY becuase of 4A numbers (which stated above is false) is disrespectful to their talented kids and coaching staff.

I will answer the question in the 50's-70's-80 they were really good, as Carlton Flatt (if you even know who that is)who the best team he played in the 80's was he will tell you the 81 hickman county team. then in the 90s they went through coaches every 3 years or so and had no stability that is not the kids fault.. in 2000 they moved to 4A and that killed them. They are back down classifications and should be good this year.People have to remember these are just kids on here they do not control the past all they control is the work they put in this year. I REALLY hopes this answers your question!!!!

97 6-5 and then 98 went 5-5 I do believe.

As far as the good bye there wasnt much I could do I could have called a team meeting but, everyone would not have been there it kind of happened quick.. I hate not telling guys bye.. however I know that I will be around alot watching games and supporting you. You especially mean alot to me.

You have a good junior class ,awesome sophmore class, some very strong pitching, several travel ball players from nashville, and very supportive parents. Harpeth played 3A Station Camp to a touchdown in last Friday's scrimmage 4TD's to 3. Station Camp was in the playoffs last year as I recall.

 

It might take a little while, but not a long while. The sophomores and freshmen at Harpeth had a lot of success in middle school against alot of the same teams they'll play in high school. That includes pummeling Hickman County in a scrimmage and beating East during the regular season. This region does not have Goodpasture, CPA, DCA or Ezell Harding in it, so Harpeth's schedule just got a huge break. The Indians lack depth more than anything else. There's only about 35 on the roster and this will be the first season in about 4 or 5 that they didn't have a freshman qb at the helm.

I tell you how to avoid it... be facing the Don Thomas led Tigers in a little over two weeks with Dante Hightower.The most important game to him is Marshall county and then from there the next game. Sure it would be devistating to lose to east for hickman county.. but the bulldogs have much more in there season than just beating EAST!!! Remember the Hickman county kids are playing this year to prove themselves as a GREAT team in 2A. Hence try and win a region TITLE.. The east kids just want to win the county title and that is NOT going to happen this year!! albeit in a couple of years they will be trying to win the region...

with that being said I think that coach jones and coach swenson are saying and doing the correct things. The parents of the community are where the bad blood and animosity is.... not neccessarily with the student athletes.

Two things you can count on: 1. He'll be in the wing t 2. The ball will be run on the ground. We always said: he runs to set up the run. MC sounds impressive. I'd guess they'll definitely have an advantage in the speed category which is always huge.

I would imagine at times you would LOVE to have him back to run to set up the run!!

No offense (pun intended) but last years 1A football game was the most boring Game ever in the STATE championship games!!!! Lets just hope that this years 1A championship will bring more excitement...

Hickman County will be The BIGGEST sleeper in the state in ANY classification.. They will be VERY good.. If you want to know ask westview they saw how good they are going to be this last spring when they had a scrimmage!!!!

How many players from Hickman came over to E. Hickman?

Mostly younger players.. All freshman this last year from East are going back to EHHS... The only upperclassmen that went to EHHS are the ones who didnt see much playing time...
