I got this from another thread, but I just couldn't resist bringing it over here:
Did Eual get a front row seat along the route? Probably no quotes from Crumbley.
I am impressed that the school and community did all that! It will be a special moment for the team to remember.
Good Luck Lady She Devils!!!
I think it was Gentry there that was taking pictures. Also saw a TV cam, but didn't know who it was. Anybody else know??

QUOTE(pantherdad @ Mar 7 2007 - 01:34 PM) 826403593Stone Memorial got a sendoff by the student body, then was escorted by police out of town, with horns blasting and fans waving from the street sides.
Is anythng happening in your schools or town to show the community is behind your team?? Schools out early for games etc.??
This is our first time at the big show and we are excited!!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
Greeneville had a send off with the pep band leading them down the student lined halls out to the bus. Cheerleaders hung balloons on the lamp post down Main Street and fans waved and honk along the businesses of Main Street. Local media was there.

QUOTE(WARRIORS313 @ Mar 5 2007 - 04:49 PM) 826400786YES THIS WILL BE A HORRIBLE TOURNEY. T$$AA IS ALL ABOUT HIKING UP PRICES AND THE TEAMS THIS YEAR ARE GARBAGE. NO ONE WITHOUT A TEAM IN IT WILL COME. RIVERDALE WILL TAKE IT ALL WHICH IS A SHAME. BUT THERES NO COMPETITION. AND UNFORTUNATELY ANNE MARIE LANNING WILL PROBABLY WIN MISS BASKETBALL ALSO WHICH IS UNDESERVED
Who gives a rats _ss about how much money TSSAA makes. Just because your team isn't in it, no need to run down the glory for the other teams. Sounds like sour grapes to me! "If my team can't play, I'm going home" Somebody call the whambulance.....again! Just goes to show you that your alls teams AREN'T "all that" OR they would NOT have been beaten!!! If you think the teams that got beat were sooo good, then it aught to be "ONE HECK OF A TOURNAMENT"!

Just wondering, with the 1st AAA game starting at 2pm and the 2nd AAA game starting at 5:30pm, will your purchased ticket for game one get you BACK in for the 5:30pm game if you leave? I have heard in the past, that they closed down the gym after that game and made you pay again to come back for the evening games. Anyone know?

Considering the size of GHS, I thought the boys crowd was even small. What's up with the support this year? With it being a home game, I sure hope we can drum up some support! There was NO student section at the first game and only students for the second game was the baseball team. Thanks Coach Richards for bringing them to the game. We loved the 4,3,2,1.WALKWill the Lady Devils get any support from the community on Saturday night? I have yet to see a crowd support them like the boys have had. Everyone talk it up and get people there. -
With all the banter than has gone on with all you guys, I couldn't help but stir the pot! This was JUST TOO GOOD to pass up. All in fun Bama fans!!!!Dig him up.Prop him up.
Roll Tide Roll.

For what it's worth, I'm with ya GF.Barb I have not complained all year, so why would I start now? I was just making a few statements. But in the end I gave credit where credit was due. I did not take anything away from this game. Just relax. I mentioned that both fought hard and both deserved to win. I am excited to see the Lady Devils have to face that atmospher with the crowd and being down. It was good to see them overcome that (the student section) and win. -
"....and darn near got the short official with glasses." THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD THING> He couldn't see anyway!True, I was mainly talking flustered on the court that had nothing to do with that (The steal and score and bad pass and foul and free-throws at the end of the 3rd quarter...). But you have a point.Of course, all 14 other teams in the region get to experience Greeneville's home enviroment every other year in the region now....
In all seriousness though, I did think that was bad planning (or any planning?) at all to have the Greeneville bench in front of their students. Thats just asking for something bad to go wrong. I mean, the SEC makes football student sections sit behind the home bench to avoid this stuff.
The cheerleaders shouldnt have been allowed on the court, at least on the other side of the court, they nearly took out a GHS player once and darn near got the short official with glasses.

Sweetie, Greeneville played on Friday. The boys game on Saturday was the same. 50 fouls called...17 in the first period.
It was the boys game I was talking about. I thought the refs did pretty good for the girls game on Friday.

Daniel Boone is not known for being that physical, they sort of had to against Cocke County. They do have a little bit of speed and shoot okay when they play together, which they seem to finally have started doing. Not sure if they can stand up to the 3 post onslaught of Greeneville, it will depend on foul calls, probably.
I sure hope it's not the gang that called the GHS/Sullivan South game Saturday night. There had to be 40+fouls called during that game. Many of them were touch me not fouls.

Yeah we are playing DB for 3rd time. I'm pulling for you guys. I have family in Cleveland that go to CHS. As far as representing East TN, I was referring to upper East TN. I put you guys in a league of your own! Good luck tonight.

I'm scared to death. There is a LOT of pressure on our girls. This sets the stage for an upset. I know we are the best team and should prevail, but like you said...an upset and that is what it would be if we came home tonight. Not only an upset, but would be a shame, because I feel our team is the only one that can represent East TN well in the substate or state.

OOPS! Guess I should tell who I am talking about...Greeneville Region 1 AAA

DZ, sorry, I have been out of it since Thursday PM. If anybody wants to know, I can quote you the mileage and driving time (reasonable speeds, that is) from the Vanderbilt area to Tennessee High.
I think I need some time to think through my "final post", but I will take one shot here about Friday's Tenn High/ Jeff game.
If these refs call a lot of Powell games, then I don't wonder that Hollifiield had such great rebounding stats. I don't think they have read the rules section on what is an " over the back" call.
That is not a shot at Tenn High, I think they were the better team Friday night. But when you box out, and someone goes over your back and gets the ball, or tips it to a teammate, then as undersized as we are, it becomes a long night. I knew it was going to be bad when Nelson got a shot blocked by Nikata Jones, when Jones used the 1/2 tomahawk, 1/2 sweep motion, got ball, arm, head, etc, and nothing is called. We could never adapt to that style, and along with the zone press that Tenn High employed in the 3rd qtr, it proved too much for us.
More when I have gotten over drive lag.
Good luck Lady Devils!! And no one has pointed out the obvious, but District 1 is assured a sub state game this year. I know it has been at least three years, has it been longer?

2005 OakRidge(I think) @ GHS

Trotter, PTS - what will it take for CC and East to get the most out of their talent level? Time? Coaching?
CC is young but having watched Newport Grammar play the last 3-4 seasons, most of those girls know how to play together and have never seemed to have a problem doing so.
East is a mix of seniors, freshman and some in between, not really any star players. Going 15 deep from the opening whistle can't help any cohesiveness or help players get in any kind of flow.
Anyway for Greeneville to keep up with the score of the games tonight at CCHS? Will anyone be listening on the radio that can update coachT?

here's a better one to print out.
http://www.tssaa.org/2006Champions/StateGB...AAA/Bracket.pdf
Thanks Bates! That did it!

Yes I can see it, but when I try to print the AAA Regional and State Bracket, it will only print part of it. It will only print about a quarter of it, therefore as it is, it is not considered printable.
-
When will jim314 have printable brackets available?
-
That was probably one of the best posts all year. Thanks for all the input. Sometimes we fans do need to step back and look at the reality of the season. Good luck to all of the teams in District and Regional. Congratulations to Cocke Counties coach for getting Co-Coach of the year.
Wo got the other "Co-coach"

I'd say thats about where I would have put them too.
I just think someone is out to jinx us right here at tournament time. I would venture to say that our girls would give up that #1 spot going into the tournament. Makes them everyones target. I believe they are probably #6 or at least tied with 3 others for 3rd. If we played like we did against Cleveland and NOT like we did against WC we CAN beat anybody on any given date.
GO LADY DEVILS!!! WE'RE SUPPORTING YOU ALL THE WAY TO THEY STATE!

I would have to beg to differ. Greeneville lost to them in DOUBLE OT. The numbers may show more of a loss(pt wise) than the Shelbyville game, but the double OT speaks for itself.
