Sorry to change the subject but,,,if DB wins friday night, where will they play their frist round in the playoffs? I would love to go watch my cousin play in maybe his final game of the year(and maybe career). He is # 30 (Will Wagner) and i know he has good speed and can hold on the ball great but so i am confused as to why he hasnt seen much PT. I have talked to people on the team adn they think that he is the next back under Chris that should be getting touched but just hasnt yet. Could someone please inform me on how he has done this year with the limited PT he has gotten? Thank you

Although I am a bit one sided when it comes to this dicussion, I do KNOW for a fact that it will be a great game. And i hope that it is close because it has already been named the game of the year in the MLC and maybe the state is 4A. I know Curt is an amazing player and is a force to be reckoned with but he is human. He is only 17. I personally think that if you shut him down(by shut down i mean that you keep him under his normal game averages), that THS could come out on the better end of the deal. South still has a very talented group of receivers who I expect to get many touches and at least one touchdown. But then as a counterpoint to that, THS has the #3 defense in the state in points allowed. They have a very strong front four with Dickerson and Bible bringing the heat. In my opinion, how well these boys play WILL determine the outcome of the game. On offense, I hope THS can run the option to some kind of perfection against South with Baker or Sheppard lining up in the backfield. Who knows, Ol' Stubbs might even throw in the split back to mix things up. All I know is that this is going to be a great game no matter who wins. Just a reminder, BUNDLE UP!!! Its gonna be a cold one in Death Valley. Theres a shocker /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> . But good luck to both teams...and...

I look for Stubb(orn)s to throw the ball. Of all things. Just to try and spread it out a bit. And then come back up the middle. Mind you...the Stacy Carter imagination is not idle. Many of you speak as if we are not aware of the circumstances. Temps in the 30's. It will feel colder in Death Valley.

But really...my take on the game is Curt is a great athlete, but he is not superman. Like the media would like everyone to believe. This is not the first time we have faced him and i really do not believe it will be the last.

He has run roughshod over the league most of the year, but he will not see your typical MLC defense Fri. night.

These boys are very physical and fast and good tacklers, not saying he won,t make some plays, but can he make enough plays. I don,t think so. I've seen both teams play this year and we have yet to play our best or a complete game. On offense that is.

Some games were terrible to watch at times, but we still managed to win by 2-3 scores. But the D is another story.

But the O is starting to click now. South looks a little weak agianst the run, not good for south.

i have no clus who you think you are but all i can say is South is beginning to get wayyyy over confident and cocky. Not exactly all of them because i believe the majority of them are quite pleasent. Its only the few( Volamnscott) who can talk trash and who dont do anytiing on the field except hide behind the All-State QB. When South played Greeneville earlier in the year. I know south didn't play there best ball and its showed. Has South scored less then 40pts in any game since then? They have steamrolled all there opponents since. I know many people would like to south lose, but to do so u have to stop phillips simple as that haha.

ok If i recall correctly except for the loss to greeneville south is mowing teams over. I really hope tn high has there own curt phillips b/c if u can't make an attempt to slow him down then u lose. Oh and if u do play west they will beat u anyways but u won't get to west u will play us correct

I hope GreenEville gets to play Tennesse High. We have seen them in person, and we have the last laugh on them, 02' playoffs 40-8 in the Stone Castle. They had a good team but 11-1 doesn't quite cut it. Play tougher teams in the regular season. Its like comparing the SEC and the Big Ten.

R u serious? I honestly think that THS will beat South and eventually play MoWest in the quarterfinals and beat them. They have been the power house of that area and any other year i would take them over THS...BUT not this yer. They are down and THS is playing very well. The scrimmage against greeneville is not a very accurate way of looking at what this team is capable of. Im just sayin, dont think you have it all wrapped up yet.

I grew up with Curt and I know he is an excellent person on and off the field. IMO, I think he will have an AMAZING career as a Badger because of his tremendous work ethic and self discipline. I wish him the best of luck in everything.

I'm not sore. the vikings did more than grind us in the ground they kicked our butt. All this crap about bad calls, bull we got beat cut and dry. Ok I see where your coming from. The only reason that I want THS to win is because I am tired of everyone saying that South is going to kill THS. I want it to be a good game. This decides the conference, it HAS to be a good game. I was not directing that previous post at you so i meant no offense to you. I apologize. And i cant wait to see Curt playing next year on TV. Since Tennessee HS plays in region 1, they could never meet Maryville for the 4A title. They could meet in a semifinal matchup, however.

I believe that some of the Johnson County folks are still a little sore about the game that they got "ground into the ground". Its ok. Well play the game just like everyone else. Its gonna be a good game. I gurantee its going to be closer than what people think. Im gonna take THS in that game also.

I agree. I think it will be an easy win..BUT, THS will slack in the first half again and give the cougars some courage. But i think in the second half, once again, it will be all Vikings. But an OK game the first half.
