1. QUOTE(crazzyness @ Feb 27 2007 - 03:15 PM) 826391933While District 1's "domination" was nice, it means absolutly nothing. I think it just goes to show how bad District 2 really $ucks. Lets be realistic. A way down Unaka team that was held scoreless in a quarter each of their last two games went to Sneedville to play the number 1 team from that district, came out flat and thought they had no chance, airballed a third of the shots they took, probably shot 30% from the free throw line, had every call in the 2nd half go against them, and they tried their darndest to give the game away in the 4th quarter, and Unaka STILL won. Thats how bad district 2 is. This years North Greene team (the worst North Greene team I've ever seen) could have probably won that district.

I think hancock was the one that came out flat and couldn't hit anythink there point guard shot terrible didn't even hit the rim his first 3 shots. They wasn't aggressive enough on the boards just about every player on unaka's team hit the 3 pointers they shot far better than hancock did hancock even missed layups. They did have a change to win and should have to much jealeous why they didn't go to #3 more eapecially on the last about 3 or 4 times down didn't even touch the ball just hit 1 three. If they don't do somethink about the jealeous it will be more of the same next year. They really need a point guard that will worrie more about winning & getting his the player with the hot hand the ball instead of worring abot his own personal acomplishments been that way for 2 years now hope they can do somethink. About northgreene winning this district hancock beat thwm twice this yr don't think they could win it. Best of luck to the teams in the championship games.

The other night Iwas at a game there was a guy caught the ball right in front of ref not 2 ft. from him droped the ball on the floor pick it up started bribbling ref didn't call athink another time they had the ball out of bounce under goal 2 kids standing not 1 foot from ref right in front of him kid pushing other kid wiyh both hands almost pushed him down didn't cal anythink but then they call little touch fouls very discussting for kids another think I don't understand is how everyone else can se but refs I KNOW IF YOU ARE UP IN STANDS YOU HAVE BETTER VIEW OF Thonks but I set right on the bottom roll in scorers table worst view of floor & I can see they just want to get it over with & go home I know I've heard it to much in the last 4 years I've been keeoing score. I hate to say this but some of thwm act more like babies some absolutely ned a good whopping.

  4. QUOTE(KevB1990 @ Feb 27 2007 - 06:45 AM) 826391285You guys have omitted Singleton's teammates from Rutledge: Chase McBee and Matt Day. During their little run from 2001-2004 Day was one of the best three-point shooters anywhere and McBee was good for a double double most nights as well as being clutch during his playing days (2002 grad).

And yes, Singleton should've played D-I...too bad he let things get away from him.

I agree with all this. I don't think there are very few teams around that could play with these boys hancock & rutledge had some barn burners back than.

  5. QUOTE(blueeagle @ Feb 26 2007 - 03:19 PM) 826390170dugger was a great player and so was seal but my favorite player was rusty chambers of unaka. i believe that kids got more out of his athletic ability than anyone. he was a good scorer, great passer and free throw shooter and they won a state championship. chambers got the other players involved which is the sign of a good ball player. donald ensor built that team around him. not a big time college player just a excellent high school player.

as for coach seal he was never the sheriff but he keeps law and order on the basketball team.

Yes coach seal was sheriff for 4 years.

  6. QUOTE(HighSchoolFanatic @ Feb 24 2007 - 12:01 AM) 826386855Seal and Dugger are two of a kind. You wont find many 1A players past Knoxville like those 2. Wut about Mike Matthews, who went on to play @ Chattanooga? Brad Seal, Matthews, Nichols, Aaron Seal, and another good guard (forgot name) played on the 00-01 team, which were stacked everywhere. One of the best teams Ive seen. Just got beat by a talented Alcoa team in 1st round. That was Alcoa's last year in A. Great coach in Tony Seal. Wuts the relationship status between of all the Seals? Hancock was great back in those days. Brad Seal I know got 3 Reg MVPs in a row. If im not mistaken, was Matthews originally from Kentucky and moved to Sneedville just to play ball his Jr yr? And wasnt Coach Seal the sherriff? I know Hancock had some coach, who was the sherriff.

The other gard was problem Josh fleenor, Brandon Cope or Blanke Ramsey he was in same class as brad seal. Mike Matthews was agood player he played his jr & sr. yr. he got huet first game sr. yr. didn't play till last game in season & tour. he came from middle tn. from some 2A OR 3A Team. Most of the seals or related some way. Yes tony was sheriff for 4 years then he came back to coaching. It was in 2001 when they only lost 1 regalur season game to picket co. In 99 they went to semis.

  7. QUOTE(Red81KPsmash @ Feb 23 2007 - 01:42 PM) 826385990While no one can or will be perfect, I have watched games all over Knoxville this year and must agree. The refs are getting worse every year. THe problem is that there is absolutely no accountability or attempts to get better. A guy can totally screw up a game on Tuesday and be calling another game Wednesday. At least in the college and pro games there are reprecussions for poor performance. I know people (mostly other officials) get on here and defend the officials by saying there are not enough for games, but this is wrong. It is really bad in basketball, and other sports are catching up quickly. The TSSAA needs to do something to address these problems soon.

    Iagree completly

  8. QUOTE(chill @ Feb 22 2007 - 08:22 PM) 826385021Stop Josh Estes and you win.....easier said than done....

Thats about it they should be going to odell more I saw the last 2 games it was pitiful wouldn't give him the ball I hate a one man team don't care who it is those other players are out there for some reason.

  9. QUOTE(crazzyness @ Feb 22 2007 - 06:27 PM) 826384873Son, I don't know where you get your info. First you say that Hanncock went to state in '00, '01, '02, and '03, just for me to tell you they didn't. Now you try to say that they only lost 2 games in '02 and that they should have won the game at state, then go on to win the whole thing...

Ok. In 03, Hancock lost 9 games, not 2. And in that game at state you "should not have lost," you got beat by Temple by almost 20 points... Anything else you want to just spurt out?

You can't spell let on read I didn't say they went to state in 03 I said they went his fr. soh. &jr yr. whichwould be 2000, 2001, 2002 &2001 was the yr. they only lost 2 games only team they lost to in season was picket co. They also went in 1999 for your info.

  10. QUOTE(crazzyness @ Feb 22 2007 - 03:07 PM) 826384687Rocky Nickels didn't go to state his senior year.... Where did Kevin Harrison go to school at?

That was only because of a coaching change the coach they had that year could win with a college team against a high school team he did go his freshman soph. & jr. years they only lost 2 games his jr year one of them was in state they should not have lost it they really should have won state that yr. he should be on ther he could pay with the best

  11. QUOTE(3Dgymnasium @ Feb 22 2007 - 10:17 AM) 826384298Just figured I would throw my two cents in.

  12. QUOTE(Rangerbook06 @ Feb 13 2007 - 04:56 PM) 826370470

Well if you want to go by match ups (which only ignorant people do) Washburn beat Hancock by 13, and North Greene (wich only has 4 wins on the entire season) beat Washburn twice. And you are retarded to say "we beat so and so in the summer." Nobody gives a crap about summer ball. Summer ball dosen't mean squat...

Hancock County will be lucky, real lucky to get past the 1st round of regions... A team that can't even win the weakest district in the state isn't going to surprise anyone.

You sound as if you might be a little concern. You must be from unaka

  13. QUOTE(Rangerbook06 @ Feb 13 2007 - 02:53 PM) 826370324

Maybe you ought to get out of Sneedville and see some real basketball before you make a remark like that

Yeh, UH beat south greene by 9 hancock beat them this summer by 15 or more. Cloudland lost to chucky doak by 7 hancock beat them by 15 also you best beware.

  14. QUOTE(jcflash @ Feb 3 2007 - 08:07 AM) 826356766

Great win for PF over Union between two evenly matched teams and coaches. PF's coach say they don't match up well with Union. They're very similar. Both have an outstanding senior leader. The only real difference is that PF is a senior laden, very experienced team whereas Union has 2 freshmen and a sophomore in the starting five. Gatlinburg was fortunate to beat Union by 30 at Union, sweeping them for the year. It was interesting that Union County made it to Pigeon Forge because Highway 33 must have been impassable between Maynardville and Tazewell because Claiborne couldn't get to GP last night because of the "roads."

Hancock had union co. down by 10 pointstil the refs started their stuf union co shouldn't even be allowed to play after the stunned they pulled putting 2 dead coons & putting dung on the bus. I can't believe the way they let their student section act & talk

  15. QUOTE(Overton County Fan @ Feb 5 2007 - 11:53 AM) 826359089

Sounds like "objbballjunky" has had some time in the coaching profession... You can't give all the parents a bad rep. just because their are some bad apples in the bunch... Believe it or not there are still a few (very few) parents that show alot of class and allow the coach to do his job.

Some coaches have lost the respect of the kids &parents some coaches are worried more about pleasing everyone instead of coaching some can't adment when they're wrong

  16. QUOTE(Rangerbook06 @ Feb 5 2007 - 06:23 PM) 826359577

Do you honestly believe that when you can't even win the weakest district in the entire state out-right??? I mean come on. You lost to Washburn.

you may be surprised if the coaches would get their heads out of there buts and get back to what they where doing in scrimage games and quite trying to build up certain players. Got to have a inside outside game not just inside all the time. They have had a lot of problems this year maybe they'll pull it together

  17. QUOTE(H-Town34 @ Feb 2 2007 - 09:37 AM) 826355656

rangerbook, it wouldnt suprise me to see hampton cloudland or even unaka beat university high they looked pretty good during the regular season last year also and lost in both district and regionals

Hancock co. could surprise some people.

  18. Cosby is on a roll as of late and with the Rams loss to rockwood theycan tie it up on top of the district with a W tuesday night. What does everyone think about this one?

    [/quot

It is hard to beat Cosby at home, I think cosby could win this grace has played an easy scedule this year cosby will be prepared & ready to play.

  19. QUOTE(Pasture @ Jan 27 2007 - 04:58 PM) 826348351

Even though we do not see things eye to eye on football we definitely on the same side on this one. Who in their right mind would think that Carter is the best player in single a?

Jeremy Cope for hancock co not having a bad year him self he is averag almost 19 points per game around 6 or 7 assist 6or 7 rebounds 3 or 4 stills, he's the only sr. they have had 3 kids quit. He could be averaging more if they would give him the green llight & set more plays for him. I thing he can play with the best of them I would want him on my team any day he wiil do what ever it takes to win he's not jealous he just likes to win somethink they are not doing right now. Hope they can start wining by tournment time.
