  1. Tonights game is @ Eagleville at 6. Tomorrow is at home, I believe start time is 5. Should be a great game tonight as expected Blackwell should be on the mound for the Eagles. I think Phifer is going for the Rockets tonight.

  2. Looking for some info on Eagleville. We are looking to move back to Tennessee (Nashville area) by next year and I have two sons that are outstanding Football players. My oldest (12) is a QB. on the 8th grade team here in Michigan. Our school is the size of one of your Bigger 2A schools. I want to live in a small Tennessee town. Any thoughts on Eagleville? Forrest? Any others? Info would be appreciated.

Not recruiting or anything but I can give you information on Forrest. Great school and athletic program. 06' Baseball state runner-up, 06' Womans B-ball state champs, 07' Band state champs, football has made it to the playoffs 2 out of last 3 years. Missed out this season after going 7-3. New Football stadium called "The Rock" opened this season. New Baseball facilities opened last season. New B-ball gym floor opened this season. We seriously might move up to 2A in the 09'-2010 school year. . . . . and on Eagleville. Every year we think there going to turn it around and compete but they never do. Maybe Flatt would be what they need to finally get A LITTLE MOTIVATION! I'd love to see the Eagleville-Forrest rivalry pick up again. : )

  3. the season is not over yet, and yes Clays num were 2298 pass with 32 tds and such a great athlete, although there are some differences, Clays maturity level was not at the high school level but much above, far as overall tallent I wont argue the point among these 2 great QBs from JB but give them both there due, maybe someone other than JB supporters can clear thing up a little, not in comparison but current today tallent that Spann has.

Spann is a tremendous athlete! No doubt about that. . . So was Clay Head a few years ago. There's two things these guys both did- Win and Make Plays doing it! I've seen alot of small college football games and i know that Spann can make plays in College Football. He still has room to grow and has a great arm and can make plays with his legs also. Another one from Jo Byrnes is Orlando Thomas I believe his name is. Isnt a superstar but makes BIG plays in BIG games. Ins't that what your suppose to do? Region 5 1A has had some college people the past few years. Tuck from Jo Byrnes, Day&Carter from Cascade, and Johnson and Klaren from Forrest. So it's possible .

  4. Thank you rocketman1 for shedding some somewhat believable light on this subject. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Even a flat 4.6/40 is motoring along pretty good for a 10th grader. I assume that time is without pads on. What type of surface was he on? Sounds ticky-tack but it makes a difference. Try running in a field with 15 pounds strapped on or in shorts/T-shirt on a track. But, if the dude ran a 4.38 he would be averaging a min. of 200 total yards per regardless of classification. And, he' ain't nowhere near that.

Despite having Deion in the backfield, I am sticking to my original prediction:

    Forrest 7

    Jo Byrns 40

No Problem, and they run there fourties on the road right next to the old gym. so im sure there would be a little bit of difference on grass. Also everyone knows you cant depend on a 40 either. you have to have football speed. and as for my prediction of course im going with Forrest ha ha 27-24. I'm hoping for a good game friday night. Our team knows we have to step our game up if were gonna compete.

  5. I thought that was funny also, but I was trying real hard to leave it alone. I'd bet Daddy was the one on the stop watch.....

    /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

The player you are talking about is #3 Lavell Quezaire and he ran a 4.65-8th grade,4.62-9th grade, this year ran a 4.6. fourty. And thats coming from a reliable source since I watched him run them and I just asked him today to make sure those were right: : - )

  6. Cascade travels to Community for the first ever Varsity Football matchup Friday night. Cascade looked really good against CA last night and Community hasn't had any success this season. They are a young program still in the learning phase, but will continue to improve all year. This game want be as ugly as an outsider might assume. Community Head Coach Frost was a coordinator under Coach Parker a couple of years ago so there is a mutual respect between the two that should keep this from being as bad as it could be. Any thoughts on the game?

    Cascade Big in this one!

  7. Oh come on Mr. Champion, I am just joshing around with you. How is Cascade this season?

I can answer that;Cascade is extremely talented this season. I'm really looking forward to see if we(Forrest) can play with them this yr and get revenge. But have to get through WHH first:) Cascade has MANY PLAYMAKERS on both sides of the ball. Im looking forward to region play getting started this week.

  8. the same can be said for Marshall County

I dont even know what to predict for M.C this week. after i predicted there offense to be explosive and win 29-21 against Hickman County, they kinda disappointed me with there 14-6 loss. But i still have faith in them to get it together. im going with Marshall County coming out on top 33-16.

  9. Better get ready for some real good runningbacks for marshall county,

cant say much for the rest of the team (yet).

The Tigers bring a very good offense in. If there "D" holds up they should be okay. Never seen Hickman County play. The Tigers will be able to run with Braden. and should have no problem passing with Hightower,O'neal, and Greer on the outside. I dont know if any Defense can hold down those recievers. I'm gonna go with Marshall County 29-21.

  10. Forrest seems to be flying under the radar this season. Heard ya'll posted a big number the other night. Was the team you played any good or is Forrest going to run through this region easily? The "Voice" is laying low. The "Greenman" is in temporary retirement. Logger doesn't say much this year either. Moto is the only one left to pick at now.....

Yeah we posted a 36-0 victory in 2 quarters last friday without throwing the ball:) Riverside had some nice building blocks for the future but being a 1st yr school, they were still learning the game and stuff. I dont Believe anything in Region 5 is going to be easy this year though for anyone. It shoud be fun to watch play-out.

  11. Anything positive for Riverside to take away from this one? This was their first varsity game ever. What did they run on offense and defense, and was anything successful? Thanks!

Riverside kept it close for a while in the 1st quarter.I think The Rockets were kinda surprised that Riverside was going to play with them for a quarter or so. There crowd was okay for a 1st Varsity away game. So maybe they can build on that.

  12. Forrest 36, Riverside 0

Anyone there and have some details?

Yes,I was there. umm dont have the stats or anything. was 36-0 at halftime and Game was called due to lightning and rain.Rockets didn't play great. Even my friends have told me they werent satisfied with the performance. Forrest didnt have starting WingBack/Safety, C.Henson. Still "D" looked good. With what i've seen The Rockets will and should compete this year once again. Looking forward to watching them play against Jo Byrnes,Cascade,WHH,and Eagleville.

  13. I think everyone who voted for Forrest were referring to the new field which has yet to open for play. It is located back behind the baseball field and way away from the tractor pull area. I'm expecting it to be something else. Every addition Chapel Hill has made in recent years put them at or near the top in respect to rival facilities and I have no doubt the Football field will be the same way.

Yes,i wouldn't believe Forrest's "old field" would be one of the better fields in the region lol. The new stadium is very nice and should be one of if not the nicest in 1A.I talked to a guy from Lorreto at a soccer game and he said he believes our Baseball,Softball, and New Football facilities&Field House/Gym) were one of the nicest he's ever seen.Especially for 1A. Not to mention the Basketball Gym has a new floor now also.If we could ever get rid of that hill in Center field on the baseball field we'd be ready to go. lol:)

  14. Anyone have results from any of Forrest's scrimmages? McEwen? M.T.C.S.?

The Rockets 3 way scrimmage with Huntland and Richland went well.Forrest looked a couple of notches above both Huntland and Richland. I'm not sure what exacly the scores looked like since it was a 3 way. The Rockets still have to improve with there new offense and get completely comfortable. The Defense looked good. Just have to keep working and improving every day. Sounds like Cascade will look good as they did a year ago. Should be a fun region to watch this season. Good Luck to everyone.

  15. Marshall County has recommited to football. They are adding on to their indoor facilities. Coach Thomas is working them really hard and they are being coached really hard. Rumor has it that Coach Thomas even when out and got Giles County's defensive coordinator too.

Everyone who has played MC the last few years has seen their talent. It looks like their potential should be reached this year! It shouldn't surprise anyone if they end up in Murfreesboro instead of Lipscomb.

Dont put them in Murfeesboro just yet. They do have alot a talent with Hightower,O'neal, and Braden leading the charge

but they still have to prove they can win big ball-games!3-7 wont get you into the playoffs let alone to The Boro. But maybe with a new coach and staff they can finally reach there potential!
