I can read there kid, just calm down and read my post. I am stateing a fact, one man that is a great player can cause more problems sometimes if the rest of the team starts to depend on him to do everything. Case in point Adam Townsend was a great football player for Hampton, and they started depending on him to win the games. When he went down at Cosby on the first play, Hampton had to become a team (quickly) . The coaches had to do some shuffeling around, but it ended up making them a better team all around. They even went to the semis without him twice. Dont get me wrong he was an awsome player, but if everyone would have worked as hard as they did without him, would have worked as hard when he was there, they could have possibly won state. That is what you look for on film, (the goto guy.) Shut him down , and you win. To be a complete , the team needs a leader, and everyone working together for one common goal, The WIN.

(I will say it, Hertzog is the best kid on your team.)

And all im saying is find another thread to post on if you cant objectivly make a comment.No da that it takes the whole team but the thread was started for opions not how the bulldogs of hampton is coached.All I ever see on hear is how cosby is lucky and every team on roan mountain is the best or should be the best and if they do get beat it was hard luck for them (Hard luck kids i believe)And as far as HERZOG he is better than Pugo will ever admitt since he's not from that way.One on one he's better than most even 3 on 1 just ask the hard luck kids of cloudland. But enough of this my vote is for Herzog#5 from cosby.

As far as this thread goes ,I'm fine with Herzog does the most for his team, the thing I called into question was what one of you're Coaches said ON THIS THREAD. He plainly stated that Herzog was the best return man in the state, and that he was probably the best receiver in 1a. I and many others would strongly disagree. Tennessee is a pretty good size town.

My post had nothing to do with Pujo, it had everything to do with the header. You can have your one man (Herzog), and I will take all the wins that Hampton has got as a team. If Herzog was that good by himself why didnt he stop our running back from getting 4 TDs and 240yds on him? I will tell you why, because Taylor had 10 men paveing the way for him. So go ahead and keep your 1 player there bud . He is good, but not that good.

what happened . didnt get to go to game . only six nil at half. cosby must have came out flat and fumbled a bit or north greene played pretty well.

Amprobe01, the returns against hampton was just good plays by Herzog, but Hampton always plays the young guys on special teams. He is good but, best in the state is a BIG statement.

Sounds to me like he is doing a pretty good job of it.He is a junior right? Bet next year the youngins wont be on the special teams again.Surely that mistake wont happen two years in a row.

This thread didn't ask for a Mr. Football pick now did it? I used to pull really hard for Hampton cause I like the way your boys always play, but dangit Pujo, ever since last season you've been a real terd! We could always get along with you guys in the years we got beat, but lord forbid us win one. I'm sure there are a lot of kids at Hampton you could mention that "Do the most for their team" which is what this thread was entitled. And I can tell you one thing that I wouldn't do is get on here and talk about the kids you guys are proud of the way you do Robert. That crap's about to get old. Besides the fact the kid IS GOOD, regardless of what you think, he is a wonderful kid that doesn't deserve any flack from you.

 

I think you have something confised, I've never said anything bad about this kid.I don't get on here and belittle these kids. You are right ,this thread is about who does the most for the team. In that department, I'll agree with you , he carries you guys. But to say he is the best punt returner or receiver in the state,Thats probably a touch much.

Name another kid in 1A that has 5 kickoff or punt returns for td's this season when there has only been about 9 kicked to him cause everyone knows what happens when he does get it.

Name another receiver that can have 11 catches for 235 and 3 td's in ONE game while being double and triple covered all night. Hampton sure don't have a kid we would double cover. Ask any coach or DB who's TRIED to cover him if there is anyone better in1A.

Cosby and Unaka are about the same,Cloudland is better than either one. But sometimes strange things happen in football. The stats usually tell the true story. I'd go as far as to say Cloudland is 14 points better than either one. I'd give Cosby a slight edge over Unaka because they are at home. Don't think it really matters because either one will probably lose in the 1st round.

 

On the other hand ,I think Cloudland is capable of going to the 3rd round. If Hampton plays like they did in the 2ond half last week,they are pretty good. These boys might be understanding what it takes to dominate people. Hampton or anyone else is apt to lose at any time. The big thing is,as long as every player gives it they're best. You are a winner. Thats the kids I pull for,THE WINNERS.

We've beat Cloudland 3 of the last 4 years and you still can't see that we might actually be a good team rather than lucky. The scoreboard has said we were better than them a lot here lately!

 

Just stating my honest opinion, I'm sure the people who watched the game thought you were pretty fortunate. The same thing when Cloudland played Unaka.

 

Cloudland also got some big breaks against Happy Valley, if not for the Happy Valley mistakes,Cloudland would have got destroyed. Thats football.

I believe Hampton is going to play Unaka Fri. but I wish it was Cosby so we could listen to their coaches cry for weeks that Hampton holds and chopblocks their little 100 lb. boys.

Dont forget about the 6 turnovers then they to can be hard luck kids

Personally, I couldn't believe how East kept shooting themselves in the foot all night. I think they had what, 6 turnovers? Nobody can beat a quality team in any sport with numbers like that. East has good size, good speed, they just can't get it together. Hampton still has some issues, namely penalties. They really need to cut those down, or it'll bite them come playoff time. I haven't seen the stats for the game yet, but Hampton really moved the ball all night. Now comes Unaka, and that should be fun, don't you think? Go Dogs!

That sounds a little off However make up all the excusses you all want up there the better 11 players one the game.Not fumbles not bad snaps not bad kicks.Just the better 11 kids. And by the way #5 did make all 3 defenders look silly all night even when he came across feild in triple coverage to score the touchdown.

i agree with u 2 was out of line. we dont encourage that because he got a butt chewin becuase we as a christian school do not encourage that.

You need to quit with the WE AS A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. Im sure its not christian to run the score up with game in hand just to make your team look better on paper than you ALL are.

a:our coaches are god fearing men. i have never herd coach mckamey cuss or even get close to cussing. like every other coaches they get fired up. our coaches want to win so they get mad just like every other human but they dont cuss. lets go back to the cloudland game. our siseline was fired up so they started to try to get in the other players head. they started to jaw a lil bit and we got flip off by number 35 if i remember corectly. one of our the coaches goes to one the cloudland coaches and says good game then we get called the mother f*^$ cheap shotters. yall its just a game our number one concern should be about honoring jesus christ. ill admit our team isnt perfect and niether is cloudland or any other team. we need to refocus our views and ask ourselves are we as a family of christ r we givin the glory to him

I'm sure the name calling and being mad at you was because you ran the score up went for 2 when there was no need . you had won no need to rub there nose in it with all the extra points from your starters.But i'm guessing.

ok. the satterfield thing with the cursing was part of it, i dont every detail sry! I just know our school doesn't tolerate that kind of stuff.

Its been heard coming from parents and coaches and yes even football players .Don't even tell me that you play on the team start offence and defence and dont cuss or try to ###### other players off by name calling.That is all ive seen this year on here is this holyier than now attitude coming from grace. Poor us we got beat up on all these years and now its our turn.Running up the score when you have the game in hand leaving starters in just to pad the stats is not good coaching. You know eventually you will get someone hurt and then what.There is no need for it .And yes your coaches jaw at the players on the other team heard it many times and players have told me so .

I dont think anyone has denied that we kept our starters in longer than usual Friday night. But without actually asking Coach why he done it(which I wouldnt thats not my department) I do know we have had some concerns about how our starters would react to actually having to play 4 quarters. lets face it when Hampton and Cloudland comes to town and we go to Cosby theres not going to going to be anytime to stand back and let the young ones play. Oakdale was in this game for two and a half quarters then #22 and #25 ran out of gas and it was pretty much over. Our guys had a little extra incentive also due to all the talk going around and even on tv about Oakdale beating us. And they could have they are fair team. As far as transfers go I do know this if your players are legal according to the TSSAA it dosent matter what anyone thinks.

That is why as a coach You condition them so they are ready for 4 quarters of football. Not beat down a team with starters in the 4 quarter.

Well I guess you would need to ask the parents about that one. I do know that they have received 2 years of great education and just maybe that is just as important to some people as football, Just a thought. And I dont claim to know who paid Wannamakers tuition just as I dont know who pays any of the kids tuition, I do know it was not paid by any scholorship or done in any way against any rules.

So as a parent I'm suppose to pay for my child to get a better education. I wouldn't want my child to be raised to think that I would have to pay for a better education. I'm sure your teachers have the same degree's as the teachers that teach my son so why should I have to pay more for it. And if you say it is privately run check out the budget of a non private school. They dont get extra money,we are just lucky if someone moves in to the area. And they don't have to pay. It is a bonus if they are an athelete.

I hope all of these teams have good seasons with no serious injuries. I know the Lord can use this game to mold strong characters with these young men. The way the coaches from Cosby handled themselves last year when they were scouting Grace at Cloudland has left a lasting impression on me. I learned something from those gentlemen. These are young men playing the greatest sport in America. Winning and losing shouldn't dictate hatred and bitter feelings. God speed to a great season!! Thank you for the kind words from one of the coaches that you met and I'm sure I speek for the rest. This should be a very interesting year. To all the teams in 1-1a good luck and i pray it is a injury free year for all.
