1. Congrats to the Indians on an outstanding win! Wish I could have been there, I was out of town. I heard that the student section was the best they've had in awhile. You'd be surprised on how much of an impact the crowd can have. Hopefully we will have a big crowd in the Boro'. Best wishes on the road to the state tourney Thursday!

  2. We had some players that looked great tonight. 65 {Bateman} and78 {preston} on the D-line. 18{kilgore}middle LB . On offense Hogg and 33{taylor}, and some more good play from other players.. It was an exciting game that either team could have won.Now the bad and I won't sugar coat it . We have to improve our passing game,it was ugly.On defense, a team with a big FB blocking can take us out at the outside linebackers spot. If not for the small and quick D-line and some lucky timing on the blitz in the second half ?.A team with a big wide out can burn the small db's as well, there was to much single coverage and even with all the db's back on the last play,we were a step away from an 0-1 start.

You are right but, I didn't think the offense looked too impressive last night... like I said Hogg was doing the most damage and Dukart had a good run, but the others were struggling on picking up any kind of yardage... We definitely need to work on our passing game, although the one pass that was completed was very much needed. Kilgore did a great job hustling and making some key tackles. Overall good game by the Indians... look forward to watching this upcoming season!

  3. Robert Hogg did a great job tonight... one of the most consistant players I think for the Indians tonight, and what a way to begin the season with the first play of the game being the touchdown from Dukart... Defense looked a little rough in the first half but they have plenty of room for improvement! Who is #3 from the Vikings? He looked good out there...

  4. Yep, 1st half wasn't bad, 2nd half nobody could hit ANYTHING, and Science Hill was hitting everything. Throp had a couple of shots in the 2nd half but Justin and Coty were struggling, couldn't throw it in the ocean. Wish DB would have won it tonight. Congrats to Science Hill though. Good Luck to DB and Science Hill at substate.

  5. South isn't that bad of a location to hold tourneys around here, however there are lots of better locations in the area I think. I definately don't mind the 10 minute drive as oppose to drving to Science Hill or Tennessee High. I would be in heaven if they had regionals/districts at the DB dome. They in my opinion, have the nicest gym around, especially after the remodeling. Big, bright, and roomie!

QUOTE(TNtnns_07 @ Mar 1 2007 - 09:16 AM) 826394609I was being a smart @##...and last time i checked...we never complained about the temp. of the gym or the refs /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> ...so i really dont understand why you had to say that?

He's talking about the Greeneville coach complaining and making excuses for their loss to DB Tuesday night. He's bench wasn't deep enough, and he didn't have his Dane, quarterback of his team (you would think it would be Wiggins), and it was also "too hot" for his team.

  7. You think the threads are good this year, you should have been around last year when they were talking about the leaf burning and CMO's dribbling skills in the South little theater... Waco keeps the humor alive that's for sure... whatever happened to thecull and thehubmaster???

  8. QUOTE(Cap1 @ Feb 28 2007 - 10:59 AM) 826393044District Title is there to stay…from now on!!! And if anybody forgets…we have a reminder sitting in the trophy case. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

QUOTE(Cap1 @ Feb 28 2007 - 11:14 AM) 826393063What “boys” are you referring too…and yes I admit, Science Hill is better than we are this year and that is cool as long as we were able to smack Central around the two times we played.

I think you need yet another little refresher brock...

    Tue Dec. 19 2006 THS-52, Sullivan Central-32

    Fri Feb. 2 2007 THS-53, Sullivan Central-49

If I’m not mistaken, it’s about time for you guys to drop back down to AA again because it seems your brief time of being able to compete with the big boys is over. It’s got to be hard trying to come on here and talk trash when you’re a Central fan. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

WELL If I'm not mistaken, Sullivan Central won the Distirct Championship last year while you all got sent home the first game of the tourney... if you need a reminder they still have the trophy sitting in their trophy case.... "DISTRICT TITLE IS HERE TO STAY FROM NOW ON!" HA PLEASE next year is a new year... the glory doesn't last forever and I believe the Cougars are a prime example of that. They'll be back though...

  9. QUOTE(Cap1 @ Feb 26 2007 - 12:24 PM) 826390004And the mighty Indians of DB only scored 54 against a 9th place Daniel Boone team in the Big 9. So what’s your point?

I’ve come to believe that we would have to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers (at home) to get respect from all the haters at DB and Science Hill. You guys keep telling yourself that “we just had a bad game”, or “we where cold from the field”, or “it was just a fluke”, or “the Bahamas refs help them”, or “they don’t score enough points to win”, or “the Vikings aren’t that good they’re just lucky”, whatever it is you tell yourself to sooth your egos. Have you checked to see if maybe there was a full moon outside when these miracle wins by the Vikings occurred...maybe thats the answer /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ? The bottom line is the Vikings beat you both…not once, but two (2) times…even with the “DB messiah” (Coty) and “the great one” himself (Omar)! I’m just sitting back and laughing at all of the same people once again posting their same predictions in a futile attempt to will the Vikings to loose by 15, 20, or more /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> . They I will enjoy watching these same people say “wow can you believe the Vikings won…….AGAIN” /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />! I have a feeling that we will have to issue a region wide suicides watch if when all the dust settles, the Vikings are in the Regional Championship game against Greeneville!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Well I believe someone spoke a little too soon. Good prediction for the Regional Championship game, I don't think either of those teams are in it?? Oh butttttt Tennessee High had a good season, better than expected, and I assume they will be good again next year. Congrats DB and Science Hill. Hate I missed the Greeneville/DB game, very much hoping DB can pull off the Regional Championship and Substate!! Congrats Indians, Keep it up!!!

  10. QUOTE(lovemyfalcons @ Feb 22 2007 - 11:48 AM) 826384429I sat behind some SH parents/fans and they cheered when Cradic was slammed at half court (away from the ball), it is unfortunate that many are jealous of the top players. However, you seem very jealous of the Falcons! Bet you wish you were one!

A DB fan would never wish to be a Volunteer Falcon. What are you, crazy??

  11. QUOTE(Cap1 @ Feb 21 2007 - 12:42 AM) 826382260Enough already with the excuses !!!! Common sense should tell you that every fan thinks the refs call against their team and the Vikings are no exception. And your comment that DB some how deserves the District Championship is ludicrous. What would lead you to think that DB somehow deserves to win the District title more than any other team in the conference? I have an idea...why don't we let the two teams suit up and play the game to decide who deserves it the most on the court. You know, the old fashion way they use to decide the winner of a competition before we had coacht. Then if your Indians should happen not to come out on top you can blame the refs, or your coach, or whatever excuse you would like to use.

Whether you like it or not Cap, everyone around the Tri-Cities knows how bias and partial the Tennessee High refs are to their Vikings. There's just no way around it. Sorry. I still think the Indians will come up with the win. It's my opinion and hey I can admit I've been wrong before. We'll seeeee!

  12. QUOTE(BobSegar @ Feb 20 2007 - 06:51 PM) 826381616First of all, I wasn't making excuses, because DB will win this game regardless. Simply stating a fact on here that everyone in Tri-Cities seems to recognize except the TN High fans. In fact, I bet you (Cap1) are probably on a first-name basis with the 2 or 3 refs I am referring to!

Just for the record though, I am not making excuses. I do not do that. I simply state facts. I have maintained my position that DB should have only 1 conference loss, that being the home loss to Central by 20 points. The South loss should have CLEARLY never happened because they are a HORRIBLE team, and the TN High loss should have never happened because we had a night where we put up 35 points and lost by 1 point. The Central loss was simply an ambush. It happened to be a night when Central was hitting everything they shot and DB did not play as a team.

However, different story, different "season". Coty is back, and this is a new team. Be ready Bristol because the Champs-to-be are coming to town!!

I was at the Central-DB game earlier this year and there is simply NO excuse for DB getting pounded that night. I had to cover my eyes a few times actually. I don't think DB had one good thing going for them that night. I hate to say it Bob but you're making excuses. That was 2 months ago, DB has progressed A LOT throughout the season and I have no doubt in my mind that they will win this championship game tomorrow night. You know what though? They deserve it. However along with a number of you folks I'm concerened about the reffing situation we might have tomorrow night, ESPECIALLY when you are dealing with the WORST team in the area known for ref-homecourt-favoritism. Tennessee High refs are horrible for being partial to their Vikings. I bet they will all have their I LOVE MY VIKINGS shirts on under their stripes! We'll see!

  13. QUOTE(maroonandgrey @ Feb 20 2007 - 07:22 PM) 826381659There was a reason the other thread got closed....like in basketball there are some rules to play by..and I'm sure it wont be long before you get this one closed as well...

I have to say it almost makes me tingle to think I have my own thread....geee

haha maroonandgrey you are so lucky, i wish i were you

  14. I will be really, very, surprised if Tennessee High can come up with the win against DB, but who knows. I was surprised they beat Science Hill, then again not surprised because it shows that Science Hill is just like I have said before, nothing but a one man team. I really think it will be DB's game though. I hope it's DB's game. They deserve it this year.
