  1. officiating was terrible, well comical on both ends. Kudos for the change at the end cause it was out on us. but as far as the non sour grapes comment.. LA had the chance to put it away early, and went cold.. Bees are one those teams that you cant let hang around for to long or they ll slip right by you..which almost happened last night. LA played probably 10 good min last night. bottom line is if la wants to go far, then they better step up a few things.

    1-REBOUND (every1)

2-get after, scrappy, like the 4th qtr against the bees.( fun to watch)

3-Better post play, on both ends. posts aint gotta score everytime they touch it, inside out, work the ball, have to be stronger, actually get low and post up!! work dam**T !! they couldnt stop Ramsey if he'd just play.

4-Spacing on offense, lettin two ppl guard one? why

5-dont get to caught up in being so strict in runnin plays, i say we spread it out and flash and cut alot cause we have great speed and shooters. penetrate and kick.

6-know your role, dont try to do to much, we gotta great team. 5 threats are harder to guard than 2.

    lol there are my two cents /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    GO GET IT LA !!

    good luck

Coach Melton will need a notepad to keep up with all of that. lol. I'm sure he will take care of things in his own way. GO LA. A win is a win.

I agree with the "scrappy" part though.

  2. Sounds like South Side had a great year.

The Allons Hawks finished with a record of 27-3.

They lost to Mt. Juliet and Friendship Christian and not real sure about the other one. They will be losing quite a bit with four 8th graders heading to LA.

  3. Good post.

I'm just not one to say much about a coach unless I know for a fact that I know more than the coach I am talking about. I was brought up to believe that as long as the coach was the coach, you went with what he said, no questions asked. If we are going to complain then I would complain about who is in charge of hiring or firing Fulmer.

I don't know very much about football, don't pretend to. From the way the college kids talk to today, the problem is with recruiting. Kids these days rather go to a school close to the coast or in a big party city. Knoxville just doesn't seem to have much appeal to the college kids that we need to recruit. Especially if the team can't finish within the Top 10.

  4. got a question...why did the hammock girl transfer in the first place....was it due to playing time or something...if so...by going to upperman...does that insure her of any more playing time...i am sure she will be missed.

I am very curious about this as well. I haven't heard anything for sure, but I heard that either her dad or mom was upset with the lack of playing time she got at camp.. then I heard that her family was moving to baxter anyways... Who knows? I wish her the best. She will be a good player when she gets older.

I think Upperman will finish at the top of the district winning both games against LA during the season, but then LA takes the district tournament game.

    Another good year coming up... /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  5. Talent and potential however don't always get it done.

    Go York

Thats true. But when you got the heart and desire that the LA boys have along with a coach like Melton you are going to go a long way...

    The fight in this district is for second place... /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  6. Whats the difference between Fulmer and Les Miles? Miles is doing the same thing Fulmer done for years, he's out talenting teams not out coaching them. Just look at the Auburn game. His bonehead decision to not call a timeout and kick a field goal was 1 second or a dropped pass away from having LSU drop out of the BCS top 10. His amazing athletes bailed him out so he didn't have to drive home with a loss and 2 timeouts.

I agree with that some what.

Solomon must just be one of those spoiled fans who expects to win every game. I'm sure Fulmer has some sort of reason for his play calling. Maybe Fulmer has strong confidence in the plays he called and the "talent" just didn't execute. Maybe he continued to call the plays he called because the Defence was vulnerable in those spots and maybe the "talent" didn't execute...?? Who knows?? No reason to give the guy such a hard time if you really don't know what your talking about....

  7. The SEC is loaded... The Vols have lost a few games. stinks, yes it does. But, how many coaches do you know of that can win every game they coach in the SEC. Not even Spurrier can do that. I think Fulmer has done it once though.

Quit crying. We know Fulmer is a great coach. If you can't stick with HIM and the Vols during what we call a let down year... Then your not really a fan.

We can still win the SEC. In my opinion, whoever wins it is the REAL national champion regardless of their overall record. And we got people that want him fired...ha

  8. Its not going to be what we are use to in HOG-EYE. They have a good post player and a good point guard, But I think this will be a struggling year for the Lady Cats. Hope I'm wrong.

Of course you got to realize... A struggling year for the Cats isn't like others...

A struggling year for the Lady Cats means they might have to work a little harder to get the gold, but with the coach that they have anything is possible... Guess we will have to sit back and watch Coach Smith work her magic.

  9. Allons looks ok, but haven't seem to find their grove just yet. I think they will be fine once they get their guards in control of the game. Should be able to play with and/or beat Hilham.

Hilham girls look as good as the where last year or better (tnt state champs) Their returning point guard has grown alot over the summer. Coach Williams seems to be set for another successful season.

Rickman isn't hardly has good as they were last year, but they will certainly hold their own in county play. I am sure Coach Miller will make a run for the county title and maybe even the state in his division.

LMS should be good. They still have the Meadows girl that transfered in. She is a great guard and will also be good at the high school level later on.

  11. Todd Smith

    Chase Dunn

    Devon Ramsey

    Clint West

    Kedall Melton/TJ Smith

Depending on the type of game will probably affect Coach Melton's starting line up.

Losing Everly really isn't going to hurt the Wildcats. Don't get me wrong. Jordan had lots of ability and could have been great but the Cats are going to be just fine with out him.

  12. Of course .....Dunn will work his magic. Ramsey is looking better every year.....this year he should be rocking the boards! Since we lost Tyson.... I think Smith & Melton will help with the 3-point shot. If I were to be a betting man.....which I am from time to time....I would say TJ Smith is the sleeper for LA. I have a feeling this kid will show what he's got this year.

I agree with all of that.

Not only will other teams be amazed by Dunn's magic, they will also be wondering how they are going to stop TJ Smith. TJ is an excellent all-round basketball player. He can do it all. He is the type of player to come into the game and score 10 or more straight points before the other team finds out what is going on. He might not fully explode this year, but trust me. . . He will.

Chase Dunn is going to be the first guy from LA to get a major scholarship, but I look for TJ to have almost similar attention his senior year.

I saw were Scrubbadub mention that Ramsey is getting better. Thats for sure. I saw Ramsey play a few times this summer. He is playing much more physical and is doing an excellent job on the boards. His defensive play has improved as well.

I believe that Kendall Melton will get plenty of playing time this season. Yes, the Wildcats are deep at the guard position, but Kendall is also a big piece of the LA puzzle along with Justin Poston.

A lot of people will be surprised as to how much guard Todd Smith has improved over the summer as well.

LA is going to be able to breeze through the district, so its a good thing Coach Melton has loaded up their schedule with power-house AAA teams to help get them ready for the post season. We just might be surprised as to how well the Wildcats handle these big AAA schools.

Coach Melton is doing an excellent job at LA. Like him or not, he does more than just win ball games. He pushes his young men to be the best they can be on and off the court. In the future this is going to give several of them the chance to play basketball and further their education at the college level.
