update after tonights win over Clarksville Academy total of 58 Gobbell 18 Huddleston 11 and Harville 9

  2. its rediculous. i also thought the home plate ump called very inconsistently, i noticed CA threw several balls that he called strikes, then Summertown would throw the same ball and it would be a ball. and same happened with summerotwn throwing. But im not sure how hard it is to click a button and keep up with a count!

Why would you have to look at any book to count to 3?

  3. Congrads to MT. Pleasant! Guess Summertown's Pitching not as good as everyone thought. Now they go to a good Richland team with loser going home Monday. Summertowns season could come to a screaching halt.

If it comes to a screaching halt on Monday, so be it. But it has been a wonderful flight Summertown Eagles! You have made us very proud. Parents and grandparents and the community couldn't be prouder of you young gentlemen/ /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" />

  4. Dang! Looks like Summertwon loves the long ball! Wow... Gobbell with 8! That kid can stroke!

UPDATE after a double header with Waynesboro on Wednesday night, the total needs to read 1 more for Huddleston and 4 more home runs for Gobbell / he hit 3 homeruns in the last game of the night after hitting 1 long ball in the starting game. Also add homerun for C Pitts.

  5. 305 down left field line with 15-20 ft wall, 330 in left center with same wall, 365 in center with same wall, 335 in right center with 8-10 foot wall, 310 down right field line with same wall.

let me guess... they doesn't count because they're farragut and their field is too short for your liking..

no team plays every game at home, the field at home is not always where you hit homeruns, come on guys

  6. This is a thread about homerun leaders, not a guy who has 1. There are probably a thousand players around the state who has at least 1.

Party boy listed players with 1 homerun on march 27/ saw Hendrix home run, it was a bomb /also the other 6 homeruns that assorted Summertown Eagles hit on Tuesday against Mt. Pleasant

  7. WOW.... Mikie Minor and Drew Hayes? You're are going bring up Mikie Minor and Drew Hayes to Summertown? How many teams beat Minor and Hayes in their career much less senior year? Hayers (Mckenzie) beat Minor (Forrest) in the 2006 State Championship game. That same year Summertown got double dipped by McKenzie in the state tournament. Now let's look at those two players now.... uhm... I think their both pitching for Vanderbilt! Yeah that's it... Vanderbilt. NCAA Division 1 team. OMG... are you serious? How often do players like Mikie Minor and Drew Hayes come along in single A baseball or even high school baseball from around here peroid? Not too often! Dude... give me a break!

The following players for Summertown will play on the next level next year... Gobbell, Harville, and Pitts. Gobbell has signed with Vol State. Harville will sign with a college to hit and play OF. Pitts will sign with a college to pitch. I wouldn't be surprised if Harville and Pitts end up at Columbia State.

At Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, Summertown Eagles hit 7 homeruns, 1 of them a grand slam, it was hitters from one end of line up to the other. Huddleston(Soph) pitched the entire game and did a fine job . You don't score unless you can hit, and they ALL hit. Way to go boys in blue!

  8. summertown does have a new catcher this year, Huddleston is his name i believe, from what i have seen he is much better tha Brewer last year i expect big things from the boys in blue this year

The Boys in Blue did well last night. They Beat Perry County 22-2 at Perry County. All the young players are doing well, the basketball boys are back, and if the rain will hold off, they should continue to do well. Clint Gobbell had 2 grand slams last night at Perry County and they play good team ball. WAY TO GO EAGLES
