Know what you mean! My kids were in the band and we actively supported the team, but at band comp. don't remember any players dragging out to go!

OK, I will ruffle some feathers here.... about the band. Have you ever thought for a moment that the band would probably prefer to just come watch the game and not perform, it's true. Most HS coaches push for the band to be at every game, even the away games. I know from having a daughter in the band for 4 years what it takes. How about a 500.00 dry cleaning bill to perform a half time show on a hot night. Also, you get a huge bump in the gate by the band, all their parents could probably care less about the game, but pay their money to watch Suzy play her 8 minutes at half time.
I don't think the band is an annoyance at Harpeth, most of our fans understand how much hard work goes into performing at the level our band performs at. If you look in the stands at half time the crowd stays in their seats to enjoy the show. Our director is very sensitive to playing at the right times, he actually is a football/sports guy. If you are having trouble with your band I suggest talking to you AD, who should be managing the play time or at least set the boundaries. We have had opponents who think they came for a battle of the bands so I can relate to the disruption. Lastly, nothing like playing the game on Friday night then arriving at the band hall for a 6;30 departure for a competition, wonder how many footbal players will attend to support the band???????

Lots of people enjoy the band as well as the football game. The band puts lots of effort in what they do so get off the band. Our band supports the players during the game and rarely play when we have the ball. Very uncommon but true. Coaches respect it too.

Collinwood fans come out of hiding this year! That is funny, ha ha. Our stands had as many fans last year 1-9 as this year. Great fan base, unlike at waynesboro where the stands are almost empty. Come out of hiding, get real!

cwood couldnt control the big pound offense of jb. cwood played hard and if you could, but you cant, take away 2 fumbles inside the 20 outcome is different turnovers lose games. jb by 3

Wow akaglazed.....that's pretty bold but I think a little naive. I respect Cwood and think they're really fast, but I think JB's size will trump Cwood's quickness. I predict JB will have a big night on the ground. JB 35, cwood 21
adamsville came from west tn and thought they were gonna squash our little team, check the stats and see who squashed whom.btw i think cw won that one and adamsville had some pretty big kids. size is not all that matters. cw wants this.

well the trojans put it to the dirty birds...they just couldnt handle the pressure and cwood played great D. couldnt get any bird autographs after the game. huh they all left with their feathers hanging. just sayin

dont get 2 excited about being cwoods homecoming...just where u fell in the schedule. no big deal trojans are playing really good and have faced some really good teams...dont know what happened to ca they just didnt show anything but the trojans played good..we b coming after the dirty bird. dont get 2 cocky...

However,
Smith County's is pretty good for a 2A school. They could give the 5A schools a run for their money.
our school is 1a and we have a pretty good band and also make the playoffs regularly. we were put out by jo byrns in the game that would have sent us to the championship. our band usually put at least 100-125 fans in the seats and most go just the see the band. i like football and band myself. our motto is that the football team plays prior to and immediately following the bands performance. go collinwood high school marching trojans... -

I do agree that the entire team is A 1. Hannah Daniel and Trista Rich are probably my favorite defensive players but it takes all five plus the subs to get the job done as they have this year. One player does not make a TEAM! Go Trojanettes and win another Gold Ball.

Cameron Martin should not have made it because he threw the ball away several times and walked under the goal possibly costing us the game.

I don't think anyone thought the Trojanettes would win that big...BUT I knew they could if they all played smart...This group of girls play great together..Leslie Daniel should be up for Ms. Basketball as well as Abby...Both are talented players and the coach does a good job despite what a handful of parents think...They have won a bunch of games and the last one I saw he didn't have to get on the floor...keep up the good work Trojanettes...

Is if Friday yet? If the Trojans play hard they win. Don't hate on CW, the Trojans went through a tough season last year and Trojan fans stayed around. GO BIG GREEN!!!
