1. William Blount has a freshman, last name Payne. She hits in the #2 spot and plays third base on Varsity. She is hitting close to .500 and is second on the team in hitting. I have seen her eat up some shots at third that an upper classman couldnt stop. She is a very talented lady for her age.

I bet her mom or dad keeps the score book.

  2. Do I coach? thats another question that can make you go hmmmmmm

yea you coach a Thunder team and it dont make me go hmmmmmm it makes me /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  3. Question, When did I say one word about the person from Central or his daughter? My daughter played for him several years ago until the age goups seperted them. Yes he is a good man that helps alot of kids and I have know clue which hitting method he is teaching. You are the person that came on a board asking about Powell season and started throwing uncalled for comments about a past coach. As far as any negative talk about any player, I have not nor will not say one negative word about her or any other kid. You either relplied to the incorrect post or are very confused person.

I didnt ask about Powell season, didnt ask about anyones season.....maybe you are confused.....I know why Im confused I cant figure out if Im a redneck (I asked FantasyLand to explain to me what a Redneck was) or Appachalian American......Why would you get confused for.....? as for throwing uncalled comments well now that is just your opinion ....I guess its alright to talk about the dad and daughter on this thread but not L L Sams (which was a joke).....do you not think its uncalled for talking about them or is that alright......I didnt say you said anything about them but this thread was.......

  4. Yes, you are correct the tital of this thread is Powell High School; but threads progerss n take on a whole new life----- but dont take my word for it read almost any other thread on here n see for yaself----

Nope, no bitterness on this end. Mr FantasyLand just tells it how it is----- Got a question for ya-----if "alot" school would be happy to have "dear-ol-dad" as there coach then howcome he was removed or not asked to return at his last HS coaching position?????? Things that make-ya go hmmmmmm-----

You seem full of information, tell us all how you know he was removed from or asked not to return to his last HS coaching postion.....than maybe we all can go hmmmmmmmmmm...... do you coach Fantasyland?

  5. Sams did a good job for Powell while he was there. Was your daughter on the team? If not why make the statement unless the name says it all Redneck

Nope no daughter on the team.....I have been told that I am a Redneck, I dont know if I am maybe you can explain what a "Redneck" is....... but us rednecks dont talk negative about a 15 year old kid like this theard is.....I know her and she is a very good kid, her dad is a good teacher of the game and he does it for the right reasons FOR the KIDS not for himself he accepts no pay he gives kids free hitting if they cant afford it and the most postive is he teaches the right way to hit......and I think if coach Cox didnt want him in the dugout he wouldnt have asked him to help...

  6. WOW, Thanks for all the support, and discussions. I never new there would be so much help out there. I'm am accustomed to just someone saying good luck, Thank you all for everything, and to the comment earlier, about playing for fun, that's what a lot of people has told me, and I plan on staying away from those tournaments, I really need to focus on my career and education. Not bragging none, but just to throw out there, the UK Lady Coach sent our school an e-mail stating she was very interested in me which was totally shocking to me. After our H.S. Team finished third in the state. Unfortunately I broke my thumb right after that and she never got to see me play any more. Take Care all and Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Kara Woods#25

UC21FAN sounds more like a father posting instead of daughter........Can you smell touble with a parent I DO!

  7. In 2008 I don't think Thunder had a team trying to qualify for 18A Nationals, but im not sure of that. White Lightning did qualify & play in the 18A Nationals. They finished tied for 97th place with 24 other teams out of 97 total teams. The Knox Lady Eagles (18u), Chattanooga Force (16u) & Knox Thunder 93 (14u) all won there berth to Nationals at the Memorial qualifier in Chattanooga.

I couldn't tell you 100% what collage coaches the Thunder have contacts with but the Weekly's have been to a few of there practices to evaluate players, offer insight / direction, which only broadened there contacts. And the Thunder-Sams team played Chattanooga Fury after UT's alumni game. The Thunder-Sams team or Thunder 93 team was actually the teams I was talking about. Both teams are well coached, qualified for Nationals & represented TN well this past year. Coach Green is still involved with the Thunder but I am unsure if he or Coach Monday will be coaching a team this coming year.

Who off a Thunder- Sams coached team has signed to play college...

Where did the Fury and Thunder-Sams theam qualify at?

  8. Other teams you might want to look into are Knoxville Thunder & Fred Fekete's Magic team. The Thunder has contacts with many collage coaches & they have been attending higher level Exposure tournaments these past few years. Fred's last name alone gets his Magic team into most any Exposure tournament he wants but the quality of his teams has diminished some over the past few years.

    Good luck in your search!

IMO Thunder and Magic is not the best team in The Knox Area in 18A.... The White Lighting quailified for the 18A ASA Nationals last year...and didnt know it til reading this post looks like the Knox Eagles qualified also but not sure. Who does the Thunder have contacts with....and wich Thunder you talking about....The one Monday Coached the one Green Coached They both had numerous kids go to college...but I dont think either is coaching for the Thunder anymore...not 100% sure on that though.

  9. As for other competition, the GOLD ball she plays in the summer is where Kim really shines.

Im not taking anything away from Kim she is a good pitcher but she has never ever played GOLD ball. I seen her pitch outside Nashville in a fall showcase and she got hit hard and often. (dont know who she played for)

  10. Jefferson County High School had an outstanding freshman pitcher this year (Tori Hill). Has 5 effective pitches. throws low 60's ( 63 per college scout clocking at 19 under travel ball tournament last fall) and a 13-5 win/loss record in a conferance that could also be considered one of the toughest AAA in the state

What tournament was she clocked at 63? SEAA? What college scout? Everyone says college scout, name the College.

  11. QUOTE(Lance @ May 10 2007 - 04:59 PM) 826456642Double AMEN to that. However guys -- here is some food for thought.

I got pulled over for doing 70 in a 55. I asked him if he had clocked any pitchers with his radar gun and he said, by chance he had, --- he clocked a girl at Central a week ago doing 70. I got him right where I want him.

I would say she was doing about 60-61

  12. QUOTE(softballrules @ Apr 26 2007 - 07:13 PM) 826446197I personally clocked Irwin this passed weekend and she was hitting 67-69 every pitch, Also clocked her at many different innings and her speed never fell. Her movement is awesome and she can throw anyone off.

If she throws 67-69 Halls and Powell sure can hit the ball then.

  13. QUOTE(RHS25 @ Mar 6 2007 - 09:23 PM) 826402735AAA-CENTRAL

    AA-GIBBS

    A-OLIVER SPRINGS

How did Central and Gibbs do in Chatt. this weekend?

Did Powell play in Chatt also? How did they do.

  14. QUOTE(swingaway @ Mar 3 2007 - 10:05 PM) 826398771Is TCA playing any AAA teams this year. FCS is trying to play a tough preschedule in order to get ready for state. If Trinity only plays single A, my money is on FCS.

You make it sound like only AAA teams are good. I seen the State tournament last year and I think AA had the best teams and then the privates- AAA was just average except for Soddy.(JMO)
