Hunters Lane truly has the hardest working d in the state. They prepare like the college level for their opponents. And also having the best D coordinator in the state helps too in Coach Moreno. The man is a Genius with Defense. He works with whatever he has. Good luck this year HL. From ya big bruh in class of 08 #53...

Hunters Lane Hands down. No team will get close to the d. and Offense is still workin on it but is still superior to the whole region.

Hunters Lane has a couple 3 year starters on the defensive side of the ball so the advantage goes to HL.

Both schools have good defensive coaches

Yea... I'm sure Maplewood does... They had the best D in metro 2 me for sure... They had the strength, size, speed, and the most needed toughness on the D...

Coach Phillips will run a class program at Hillwood

Yea we went 2 a camp with them and I could already see a change in the players.Hope the best for that team this year...

Thats also true. But the real reason I chose Hunters Lane was because I had already had an older brother and other family at the school. So I chose 2 go 2 Hunters Lane.

Thats why I went to Hunters Lane also, but when I got over here I realized that the coaches really dont care about the players. I also realized that field play, gpa, and act scores help determine if you get a scholarship or not. With a mature mind you can get a sholarshio from whatever school you go to. Maplewood seems to have a coaching staff that really cares about the kids.

Well if thats how u feel. I feel that the coaches care about their players at HL also... I mean its just how u look at it.once u play for Hunters Lane ur apart of that family and tradition.Their are plenty of players who still kum bak 2 the skool...but I also see ur point with the scholarship thing 2.A player can get a scholarship any where.But its other reasons why I chose Hunters Lane.

I do not know of the Hillwood game. My experience is with the observation of Hunter Lane in the playoff and the comments of coaches and others at Ravenwood. Hunters Lane was classy then and maybe they learned from the Hillwood game.

 

Fighting is not part of football, nor is trying to injure another player. I say let it drop. Coach Mose Phillips is a positive move for establishing displine and dedication to the Hillwood program. I doubt the frustrations of last year will linger into this season.

Yea we did learn that don't let a team, when their down, get 2 us. Another team will try anything 2 throw u off ur game and we let them do exactly that.More than likely won't see that from Hunters Lane anymore. lol... We got killed at practice the next week because of that and we lost a key player 4 the next game against Gallatin and he didn't even throw a punch.More I can promise more class from this Metro team in the future.

The dumbest thing you have ever seen is that look on your face when you ask yourself why you did not go to Maplewood with your brother.

I didn't go bekuz Hunters Lane will definitely get me a better scholarship than I'd get at Maplewood.And it helps me stay outta trouble. So on signing day when I got that smile on my face, it won't matter about me not goin 2 maplewood.Kuz i'll be on my way 2 play in college... Man u guys crack me up..

Perkins was an excellent football player for Stratford. I am guessing your brother is Cantrell for Maplewood since ya talk about him so much. Good Luck to you guys at Hunters Lane this upcoming season. The quarterfinals last year was a great accomplishment for Coach Campbell's Warriors!!!

Getting into a fist fight at the hillwood game last year isint so classey

We do show class. That was just a minor slip up...lol... All I can say about that is that we have an Offensive line who is protective of their QB.Hillwood was smashing his hand with their cleats and twisting his ankle after the play... So I apologize but the emotions of the O Line and the team got 2 us. We are like a family and we were jus protecting one of our brothers. Ant other team in the situation would have done the same.Hillwood made it escalate into a fist fight....

Do you think the Hendersonville-Hunters Lane Rivalry will be as exciting as last years 2 games???

Was Cantrell a freshman last season?????? Why would he be playing freshman football?????? I know Holt was the man last year but Cantrell was only one play away from being the guy for the Panthers had Holt gotten injured.

Wellits kinda funny,but here is how it went. Cantrell was the starting running back for the Freshman and 1st back off the bench for varsity... And Cantrell was a freshman in 05... This comin up year(07) he'll be a Junior and since T Holt is gone, He'll have 2 carry the load... Which I definitely think he can do...

I play for Hunters Lane...LG, and 3 year starter, but my brother(who lives in the same house as me)plays 4 Maplewood... I gotta special transfer... And My kuzin jus garduated from Stratford,Terrell Perkins, but I still have fam at Stratford.

He is not injured. he is a very vital part of the secondary. Maplewood does not have anyone that goes both ways.

i think it was us hunters lane maplewood jus slipped up and beat us by one point i was mad as heck. the only thing that beat us was that darn running back marcus cantrell he's good but not that good i takled him a couple of times he just wouldnt seem to go down but we had a great season wat do u guys think.

Jus 2 leave my name on this old topic. We had the game won form1-3 quarters, but it takes 4 2 win it. And I think we showed what we were made of. They took us lighty but I bet they wish they wouldn't have.JJ McClain is Def Game MVP. First play kick return 2 the house ... but we lost bcuz of we beat ourselves...DANG DANG DANG... Wooddale vs Maplewood is in week zero. It's part of some package deal that also includes the game between Pearl Cohn & Memphis East. I believe both games will be played on the Saturday Night of Week 0 (though word also has it that the Maplewood-Wooddale game will be on Friday & the Memphis East-PC game will be on Saturday).

 

Both games will take place at Maplewood though both were originally intended to be played at Hale Stadium (aka The Hole) at TSU. How that fell through I will never know to tell you the truth.

why no talk about marlon walls from wooddale?? im not too fond of him as a football player and was unimpressed with him when i saw wooddale play last year. he looked kinda soft, as did the entire wooddale defense, but thats just me and my biased opinion.

I gotta chance 2 talk 2 marlon at a FCA camp... He is really determined about this coming up season...I don't know 2 much about how he plays, but from what I hear, he's a standout player...

**Antioch-Probably best talent in region... But its hard for a 1st year QB to get the hang of things on VARSITY

**Hunters Lane-Lost alot of talent, but had plenty back ups last year 2 replace the losses

**Gallatin-Lost alot but always the team 2 beat in the region.

**Overton-With the return of the running game, could be a threat for anyone inthe playoffs

Hillwood-I've got Hillwood barely missing the playoffs.A much better team than in past years.

Hendersonville-Lost some key players on Defense like Mike Hart and Zakk Armstrong, but wit QB returning, They could easily find their into the playoffs

McGavock-lost almost all starters.With the loss of Tribue,Kilcrease,Foxx,Dixon,Romeo,and the QB(Can't remember name)It looks like a rebuilding seaon for the raiders.

Glencliff-has alot of talent, but lacks team work and discipline.

Jus because U guys put Hunters Lane down, that just makes us work twice as hard... So I guess we'll have 2 wait and see how it turns out.But 1 thing I can promise is that Hunters Lane definitely won't be a roll over game. Anybody that plays us will have 2 beat us. We won't be like the Hunters Lane of last year. That team beat itself in every loss we had... This year were goin to make u have 2 beat us.I honestly feel that the only team that could beat Hunters Lane last year Was Hunters Lane.You'll see the difference this year.

Yea he went 2 upon Tyler I think.He plays AAU with my brother and I'd say he's better at B-Ball... At the next level he'd have 2 add sum more weight 4 football.But he's a double threat if u ask me.
