  1. Is Soddy Daisy really that good? bigfantn check out the team stats! Idiot. These young ladies are crushing the ball. They have good pitching and defense.Their coach has them clicking on all cylinders and motivated for a run at the state. My dd plays summer ball with some of those young ladies and hope they keep hitting like they have in summer ball and get that ASA birth.Whatever you guys are doing Ritchie its working.Keep it going girls!Hopefully we will see you guys this month and for sure in June! Good luck ladies!!

  2. I think he was talking about the previous thread about the drug testing. So far as I know the only real controversy we have going on right now at Coffee County is the very real problem of snow blindness in cats. It is a very real problem that faces more and more cats each year. This problem was first brought to the national scene by famous NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby and continues to be completely ignored by our government.

    There may be something else going on...but they don't tell me much. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

WOW!! I had no idea.I thought the economy was bad until i heard this news!!Enter pun here: I was blind to the problem facing the nation! Where can i contribute or volunteer time to get this known to the public. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  3. Looks like my new favorite team has started out like we knew they would! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Sorry Wildkittens! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I echo JV's detailed analysis.wow! I sound smart! The girls looked solid and i agree there is some bugs to work out but that is what scrimmages are for. If they keep everything in focus and do not get frustrated when it gets bumpy, the possibilities are exciting but lets play out the season and enjoy the ride!! Good Luck Lady Raiders!!!

  4. Thanks, but today is /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />"Birdie" birthday and she got her new teeth in yesterday so we are going to go out and try them out on some big fancy resturant. I believe the name of it is Pizza Hut it is on the Shelbyville Hwy is all that I know about it but suppose to be really nice! So let me know about my new team the Coffee County kittens if you do not mind! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

can do and send birdie b-day wishes from CC and 8aaa!!

  5. Rockettech is a great bat once it gets Summer and it starts to get HOT. The ball will jump off the composite bats better in cold weather.

becareful with the demarini in the cold.i have seen and heard of these bats cracking when used in cold weather of 50 degrees and colder. my daughter had her phenix crack last year. needless to say she a wee bit irritated when it happened. o well lesson learned. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

  6. Where do you all think the Rocketech ranks with these bats?

between the easton stealths and demarini phenix and cf3 or composite bats in general, the rockettech seems forgotten.it still is a great bat and may be popular again if the composites are banned totally. the ball really jumps of the composites and they put alot of spin on the ball, but durability...ehh could be better, especially when you drop three bills on a composite compared to about two hundred on a rockettech

  7. Well "Birdie" called from work today (guys she goes every day while I am lookin for a job) and wanted to know if we were still goin to the big event in the "mule town" on Saturday. Well I told her to pack her long johns, gloves, extra pants, boots, blankets, head warmer and her hat because these folks down there are not goin to let a little snow, rain, cold weather stop them from gettin in the dirt! I am gettin excited to watch some 8AAA teams get it on! So I am goin to try and see as many games that "Birdie" will let me go to and I hope to see you at the "slopes" oh I meant the ball park! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

If it gets too bad for you MrNoitAll you can dodge the raindrops under my ezup tent. we will have the sides on it to keep you warm and dry!!! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

  8. Sorry this thing got out of hand. If you people are mad because I am proud of my girls, then quilty as charged. But I am proud of both of them. Shelby learned a good lesson in all this though. No matter how hard you try, academically or athletically, people are gonna put you down. Its called jealous, thats just how this old world turns. One last thing though, Boy I am proud of my girls.

amen to you robotman! I believe as long as your girls think you have their back,I think they will be just fine.We hope to see ya March 10th and good luck to you guys this season!!

  9. Where did the time go, I can remeber 10 under travel ball when all the girls had pony tails or braids, and they dads were much more focus than the girls were most of the time. I can't believe that we only have them for a few more seasons. Coffee County you will do great and to all my travel ball babies Big Momma will always cheer for you no matter if you playing with or against my teams. Good Luck Girls /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

hey Big Momma, we want to say love and miss you guys.Good luck to yall this season and I'm sure we will see each other soon. LOVE YA!! the willis crew! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

  10. sounds like some agenda going on in here. good info.

absolutely!college tuition seems to increase every year but my paycheck, and savings not so much.working year 'round on her skills and studies to get scholarship dollars is our agenda.

Sounds like Cheyenne can fly. Looking forward to watching her play this year. I heard that she had the fastest time at that UTC camp. Good luck in your season.

    thanks. good luck back at ya! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. I heard Judy Lard was moving to the Mid State area, supposed to be able to throw around 72 or 73 on a windy day. She was going to be joining her cousins Wanda Slowerthandeath, Bobbi Turtle, and Sun Dial Jones to make a really great team.I am sure that the coaches in 8AAA are really worried now! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> I hope you all have a great rest of the day and I love reading these times and speeds! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

thats what coach mo wanted to know, what ever his intetions of starting the topic my be,i could care less.i do know cheyenne's times are legitimate, and i hope there are more than just moms, dads, fans and enthusiasts of high school sports looking on coacht if you catch my drift.i hope you have a nice day as well.

  12. Speed never goes into a slump, so who are some of the fastest girls on the basepaths this year?

Cheyenne willis from coffee county. Her home to first time over the summer was 2.7 and under. Her 40 yd. time was a 5.0 flat

  13. the demarini phenix has ton of pop out of the wrapper. my daughter put two over the fence in practice and the ground balls have alot of spin making it hard for infielders to field the ball.you can catch a good deal on ebay for a good price and that goes for any brand of bat your child prefers.

  14. I still think we have some folks trying to shift the focus to an argument they can win to get their way. Faculty, non-faculty...in a perfect world.....I think these posts are starting due to losing....If they were 12-0 I don't think there would be much of a debate....but that is just my opinion.

Having said that....I don't agree with everything the coaches are doing or have done. Who does? (Oh I know my wife agrees with everything I do....yeah that's funny)

They would probably also agree they are not perfect but if we want to debate let's debate what matters. They are now playing .500 ball. Does that satisfy me? NO....I teach my daughter we play to win. Not be second. I don't want to do well...I want to dominate but these kids are getting better. My unofficial numbers show them hitting better each game. That is why I keep numbers myself. I don't have to wonder and I don't have to ask. If you just look at the pass/fail of wins and losses, you might miss the trend that will matter at the end of the year.

To the girls I would say, keep it up! Good things are going to happen if you hit the ball.

To the coaches I would ask the question, What can you do different so they come into the season hitting better than they have this year, and what can you do to insure they continue to improve?

To the parents....uh oh...love you all but I have to ask...are you sure you are evaluating apples and apples? I really don't think this team is worse than years past.....but I think everyone else is getting better. More off season work...more visits to hitting coaches....pitching coaches...etc. I would ask Lucky and some of those guys to give us an honest evaluation of how this team would have done against the CC teams of five or ten years ago. How do the pitchers compare? How do the hitters compare? Team speed??? Are we going backwards as some have suggested, or have we simply let others out work us for the past couple of years? Are the stakes higher?

    Maybe I am wrong....

I think I remember ERA predicting about five years ago that girls softball would get more and more competetive...that as people realized there were opportunities for scolarships out there that more and more kids would do pitching lessons, hitting lessons, trim down to one sport, etc. There is money out there on the table...who wants it? A lot more people than it used to be.....and by the way.... someone is always watching...we had people watching this weekend that scout for colleges.

We have kids that are as athletic as anyone but nowadays that is not enough. Now they have to be good athletes, get good instruction AND work on it year round.

I hate that part. I really do, but it is the reality of the situation.

So for my money we have a choice to make....be satisfied that they are having fun...being successful 50 percent of the time, staying out of trouble.....or do we want to go for that next level. Ultimately it is the girls choice but there is no free lunch.

BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE ASKING FOR IF YOU WANT MORE!

If you think just getting a sweet female faculty coach that played a little college ball at Motlow would do the trick....Well I can't use the words here that I want to use. Ask me about kids puking in trash cans, batting practice in a thunderstorm, kids swinging a bat until their blisters burst and their hands bleed. Do they want it that bad?

I'll be honest...I wouldn't...it is not worth it to me....but that is me...not them.

I think these guys have the knowledge to allow the kids to get there....I don't see anything wrong with what they are teaching. It is solid...The hitting is real close to what I have seen taught at Alabama...and Alabama has been leading the nation in hitting.

What I don't see is I don't see it sticking.....are we undoing it on the way home talking about what idiots they are? Keep in mind that has a negative effect at the plate for the kids. They don't forget what we say.....even though they act like it.

I am not innocent of that...I have done it......and I was wrong.

I think...and again I might be wrong...but I think...that if we commit to being the best we (and that means all of us) can be, this can still be a very good year.

jv if 100 percent of the people who read and respond on coacht would use just 10 pecent of the common sense in your post we would all be better off. myself included.
