As a long time Dobyns-Bennett fan, I think its great we are in the same "league" now. Look forward to seeing your team in person here in Kingsport next year. Hope many of your fans make the trip as I think (and I am biased) we have an outstanding high school football experience on Friday nights. I used to live in Maryville and have always said that I see our communities as very similar. I respect your program more than any in the state - good luck (except against D- this year . . . although I suspect you won't need any luck.

I grew up watching some great Dobyns-Bennett vs Oak Ridge games. Am glad we are playing each other again this (and assume next) year !
-
I have communicated with them and they are basically a middle Tennessee publication. They have lesser distribution and interest in eastern and western ends of the state.

As we are only about a month away from the season start I would be interested from some of you in the know about specifics around this year's Indians : players? coaches? scrimmages? etc. . . thanks
-
who will be the new defensive coordinator? other coaching changes?
-
game is on Charter channel 712 at 7:00 in Kingsport . . .

I am not getting any game video on Rivalry Thursday online . . . is the game on ?
-
does anyone know anything about our opening opponent - Farragut?
-
SS . . . you are well informed - a true sports fan. I grew up watching DB/OR in football and basketball. Love the competition and respect each school has for the other. That also carries over into the classroom. My wife use to work in OR and we have noticed how similar our two cities are. I will be at the game and expect a good one. (ps - wish we could get our football series going again)

is Casey out for the year?
-
what is the latest on Casey's injury?
-
how bad are the injuries to Holt and Casey?
-
Is Malik Foreman's younger brother playing? Who are the QB's? Any outstanding upcoming sophomores? About how many kids to we we have on the team this year? thanks!

TSSAA has a poorly designed playoff system that will continue to generate confusion, mistakes, and frustration. But the worst part was how they treated the victim, Sullivan South. They took "the easy way out" instead of doing the right thing (redoing brackets IMMEDIATELY) and not let it drag on trying to minimize the (bad) publicity. I have told TSSAA and I will say it again, if this same situation happened in indusry, the manager in charge would be strongly reprimanded. To me this not only shows POOR judgement but lowers their credibility in the public's eye.

TSSAA are shameful role models for our kids !

in 1992 Ted Wilson was still head coach . . . Graham took over in 199392,97 and 09' are the three loses for Clark to Tenn High.

One thing I have been meaning to get off my chest and here it goes. DB's Band has always been a point of pride for all our fans, alumni and students....always. I got a real problem with that crap the band is playing this year. The Band usually plays inspirational and enthusiastic music to get you going, but not this year and it all lands on the band director. There is nothing that fires a crowd up about music that you can barely even hear and you have no idea what it is. Pre-game or Half time, I have yet to see a good routine....the Band may play it perfect and it is a dud! Now with that said, the music the Band plays during the game from the bleachers is as good as always.
Roll Tribe Roll
a lot of D-B band members would agree with you . . .

Indians need to work on execution - we don't need to develop any bad habits. Second we need to work on building depth.
-
watching the game on the internet . . . with this great matchup, what's with all the empty seats (on both sides) ?
-
also, our (Dobyns-Bennett) left defense end took an inside rush way too many times and left the outside open for the (right handed) quarterback to scramble and then throw from his "natural side" . . .
-
we should have a goal of ZERO penalties in each of the next games . . . execution in all three phases of the game is a must (ref: see Maryville) . . .
-
PEP BAND (BRASS/PERCUSSION) WILL BE GOING . . . NOT THE FULL BAND
-
I think last year's D-B team set the record for most points averaged per game in a season . . .
-
From a D-B fan, congratulations on your second straight state championship! I was most impressed with how physical your team is on the line of scrimmage. You should be very proud of your program . . . good luck again next year.
