That's not the correct score for the semi-finals game between the AL Sharks and TN Attack. The score was 13 - 9. We did get beat but not 10 - 0!! The Sharks did have to work to beat us. It definitely was not a run rule game!!

  2. I don't know..she is a great player but didn't have her best game last night....she was struck out twice by Junior pitcher Lady Raider Kristin Swan last night...awesome pitching and awesome hitting lady raiders!!

I said a few weeks ago that I would never post on here again but I can't stop myself from replying to this one. Shelby did not ask for all these comments on here about her. She is not worrying whether she will get MVP or whether she will even make All District. All she cares about is playing her best so that her team will win. Yes, she had a bad game last night and she was crushed because she felt like she let her team down but she will pick herself back up tonight and play as hard as she always does. If you ask the girls, I'm sure most of them feel the same way. Its the parents that get so caught up in the awards and recognition. Lets just let our girls play ball.

  3. Looks like mustangsally, robotman, luckynumber3, big_joe, softballmom3 and 13mom are all from Shelbyville and need to get on the same page. Some are for the team and some are for individuals. Is there conflict amongst the parents?? 13mom is correct in saying it is TEAM sport and not an individual sport. If one position is weak that day you have to make up for them in other positions. Good Luck to all the teams in district 8AAA

This will be my last post on here but I had to clear something up. There are no conflicts with the parents! We all want our girls to win. We just have different opinions. I just wanted to post positive comments to boost our girls but I can see things can get way out of hand on here!! Good Luck to all players & coaches in 8AAA!

  4. You know what MS, you are right. They need to continue to make the routine plays. Believe it or not we didn't do a good job of that against Columbia. We made way too many errors. We still overcame them for the win, but you just can't continue to do that and win. The problem with Shelbyville is that they haven't had much success in softball so when they do, they have trouble sustaining that success. Another big game against Coffee County next Tuesday. You get a win against them, then people will start taking notice. The only two consistent hitters on that team are Lamb and Bell, the rest of the team cannot just sit back and depend on them all year. Those other hitters should put in the extra work during spring break to help those two out. Its not like the others havent had a hit, they are just not as consistent.

I think the key to our success will be our girls playing together as a team. I don't think we should pick out 2 or 3 of them and say the rest aren't doing what they should be. The reason our girls won against Columbia was because they never gave up and each girl on the team stepped up and did what she needed to do at the time to keep us in the game. They all need to continue to work hard and keep pulling together. These girls have the potential to do very well this year and I am very proud of each and every one of them!

  5. today's game between shelbyville and lawrence county has been rescheduled . some members of the team had a car wreck. i don't know how serious. our prayers are with them.

We just heard from Lawrence County. None of the girls were injured. They transported one of the parents to the hospital but it wasn't anything serious.

  6. Sounds like Bell and Lamb had a great day at the plate as well but again you are talking about a basketball town and they will win several but they will not be able to be the Mighty Wild Kittens from Tullahoma! But very few people will in District 8 AAA. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

You are full of it aren't you!! I think you are amusing so keep it up. It keeps this thing interesting.

  7. Just want to say congratulations to Samantha Dye from the Shelbyville Eaglettes for pitching a perfect game last night. Great job Sam!!!

Also, very proud of the whole team. Everybody hit and defense was flawless. Keep it up girls and you will surprise a few people this year!

  8. QUOTE(redforever @ May 16 2007 - 05:42 PM) 826460477[/snapback]Shelbyville's shortstop this year was just a freshman. She hit one out in Tullahoma against Jones in regular season and hit another out in their district tournament game against Coffee Co. In the Coffee Co. game she was 3 for 3 against Meeks and then hit one that easily cleared the center field fence against Swann in the 7th inning to tie up the game. She also played solid defense at short. Her last name is Lamb.

Her name is Shelby Lamb and she is a freshman this year. Shelbyville only had 2 seniors this year and they didn't play all season due to injuries. We have our whole starting team back next year including both of our pitchers. These girls really started coming together in their last few games so they should be a big threat next year.
