1. I thought JCS already had a solid CF (Blake Taylor). How does he feel about giving up his position, especially just before playoffs? In fact, JCS already has a pretty solid outfield period. Will any of those guys just fall over and give up their spot? Seems to me you may have trouble fitting in there - most all of those kids seem very humble ???

Nobody ever said they were just going to give up their spot

  2. god you and me both...i love jcm and i won most school spirited and all that but wow we played district games with 8 players...it was a mess but yeah we'll be pretty good this yeardo you have a problem with lexington?

hahahahahahaha yeah ryan, playing only 8 players with you and me in the outfield was pretty crazy.. but man was that fun covering that much room! haha i think we had just about the fastest outfield in tennessee when it was just us out there lol.. but good luck to ya this year.. hope the best for ya.. but with both of us gone.. nose and bubba said that there is absolutely no baseball team haha.. o well.. another sucky year for jcm baseball.

  3. Jackson Christian School will be a pretty good 1A powerhouse, only losing 3 seniors from last year. I've had a chance to look around at all of the players and it is extremely different from jcm, where i came from last year. I will not be eligible until May 5th, however, we still have a lot of seniors returning from last year and two new juniors to play for JCS. (Ladd Caldwell and Josh Lindsey) Not being eligible until May 5th and 9th, we'll have plenty of time to play JV to get ready for District and Regional play. We have a very fast outfield and a dominating infield.

  4. QUOTE(pops47 @ Apr 11 2007 - 10:38 PM) 826435537My prediction going into the tournament it will be:

    1. Hardin County

    2. Brighton

    3. Munford

    4. JCM

Brighton and Hardin County in the Championship.

I disagree, I do play for JCM, and I think we gave Munford a little scare when we beat Halls at their home field. But I DO agree that it'll be Hardin County and Brighton in the finals. But I think JCM might have a SLIGHT advantage over Munford, I guess we'll just have to see how it all plays out!

  5. 500 and 550 in center fields?? that is CRAZY! only FEW major leaguers can hit the ball over 550! thats just insane, the longest field i know of in the majors is Houstons Minute Maid Park, and their center is 435! Do these people really expect high school ball players to hit the ball over 500??

I also heard from some of the USJ players that they played on a field with no outfield fence! so if you burned the outfielders pretty good, it was a garanteed homerun. They were sayin all you had to do was hit it over their heads and just run as hard as you can and you get a homerun. I think USJ had 5 homeruns that game by the way*

O yea, and back on the topic, i think Preston Overbey from USJ has hit 10 homeruns.. still.. FRESHMAN! This kid is good.

  6. QUOTE(westtennsports @ Apr 10 2007 - 02:03 PM) 826434040According to the Commercial Appeal, they played a doubleheader in Brighton yesterday. Brighton won both games, 12-1 and 14-2 were the scores.

Yeah, those are the right scores from last nights games

  7. QUOTE(swyper01 @ Apr 4 2007 - 09:48 AM) 826429651who will win it all?

Probably Brighton, JCM is in a big slump and not doing as well as they were at first. They have now lost 5 in a row and moved there record to 7-9. Brighton is a very good team that works well together and they might have a problem with Hardin County and JCM might give them a little trouble, but thats about it. I hear Munford isnt doing too well either.

  8. QUOTE(jusdontno @ Mar 26 2007 - 01:56 PM) 826423148Liberty has not forfeited to JCM? Have a game scheduled April 14, but that's only scheduled game between the 2 this year. This is also incorrect.

no, there was also a game scheduled with JCM last saturday. but they also scheduled a district game on the same day, so it was a forfeit.

But thanks for the positive's of JCM* haha.. and no, i dont think there will be anywhere close to a state championship.. but we are improving*

  9. QUOTE(westtennsports @ Mar 26 2007 - 01:13 PM) 826423110You know, I tried to stay away from responding to this thread. . .but, then came this post. First, they will not play 50 games. The TSSAA says 32 is the limit (going down next year) - you can squeeze in a few extra by playing in the right tournaments (they count as three games) during the season. There is no way on Earth they will even win 18 games, much less 30.

To respond to earlier posts on this thread about them winning more this season, let's take a look at a tough AAA schedule:

    Class A Teams - Madison (2), Dresden (2), West Carroll (2), and Humboldt (2)

Class AA Teams - Gibson Co., Westview (2), Covington, Liberty (2), Crockett Co., Haywood, North Side, and South Side

Class AAA Teams (schools NOT smaller than you) - Munford (2), Hardin Co. (2), and Brighton (2) - all are in your district.

Your A and AA opponents aren't exactly cream of the crop and you don't play any AAA games outside district. Stop getting so excited about a nothing team.

yea, we play 32 games and we're in 4 tournaments go give or take ar 40-45.. we have a game everyday from this saturday until next saturday (except sunday*) and lets see, We've beat Madison and Dresden in Single A.. we play west carroll tonight and tomorrow.. Humbolt later in the season.

AA.. we've beaten Westview, Covington. Liberty forfieted, we play later on again though* Lost to Gibson Co.

everyone else on the list we'll play later in the season.. so yea.. i think that we'll win 18 games! more**

  10. QUOTE(VolunteerGeneral @ Mar 25 2007 - 06:57 PM) 826422414I think JCM actually won 6 games last year. But yes, that`s a good start for the Cougars. One thing they did accomplish though was going 2-0 against Northside. JCM has had some very talented teams prior to last year but they could never seem to beat NS. Some of those JCM teams even had at least 7 college signees on the team. So if they accomplished anything they did get the Indian monkey off their back.

I think this year`s team needs to make it their goal to advance out of district play. That would be a huge accomplishment. Good Luck to the Cougars this year.

Yeah I agree. I was a freshman on last years team that went 2-0 on the Indians*.. it was the first time in 7 years we beat them, and the first time in 10 years we beat them twice in one season! haha.. We only won 5: 2 vs. Northside, 1 Madison, 1 Trinity, and 1 Hardin County.... I also agree that we need to focus on winning and getting out of district, but with this years team, I think our only district "problem" will be Hardin County, but I think we have a very good chance at getting through district.

  11. QUOTE(frankiec996 @ Mar 25 2007 - 12:23 PM) 826422131Congratulations to them!

I dont see them doing anything special this year, let alone a winning season. As soon as the Madison County school system is fixed (Public and Magnet merged again) then JCM will once again return to former glory

Yeah, I think they will be a really strong team if Madison ever fixes the schools. But I think they will have a winning season.. they play 50 games, so I think they'll win around 30 games.

  12. JCM beat Dresden 10-7 last night and moved their record to 5-4.. its not GREAT.. but its crazy to think that when they lose 5 seniors, including Panthofer, that they win as much as they did last year in two weeks! They can be a great defensive team depending on who's pitching and if everyone is healthy* They can also be a very good offensive team, already with homeruns from senior Larry Minter and sophomore DJ Long. They have 6 players batting over .325! With I think 2 of them batting over .500! (Ryan McPherson and Larry Minter*) Im not saying they will be a GREAT, DEEP team, but be careful, they might suprise you! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

How do you think they'll end up after its all said and done?

  13. QUOTE(poptart23 @ Feb 15 2007 - 04:16 PM) 826373355the best sophomore in the state is matt haynes from liberty

    this kid has skills

Yeah, he's alright.. but how can you say that when Matt doesnt even play varsity for Liberty? Someone said that Xan Stewart played his position in varsity and Matt has always been on JV

  14. QUOTE(Live4FridayNite615 @ Mar 14 2007 - 09:06 PM) 826412260Lets here it..

Ryan McPherson for JCM went all 7 innings in JCM's win vs. Madison and struck out 13 BATTERS!!!!!! There's only 21 outs in high school and he K'd 13 of em!!!!!!

    GO COUGARS!
