  1. What does Dekalb Co bring to the table?

Dekalb brings a really good offense. Be prepared to see one of the best QBs in the state. If Hunter Poteete was 6'4 we would see him on Sundays one day.

Defense is a little small but always play with a lot of fire. They are used to seeing 220 lb. backs running at them.

Kicking game will be a little hampered with the absence of Zack Taylor. He was injured in the Greenbriar game last week. The game should be a hard fought close one.

  2. Are you a comedian ???? Everything He's learned about basketball has come from Coach Eades. I give Coach Brewer credit for donating his time, but come on, Warren County is a gold mine, ready to be harvested by the right hire.

I just wanted to state that that Coach Brewer is working hard in his efforts to help Warren county basketball. I don't think its fair to say everything he knows was learned from Coach Eades. I know for a fact he works on defense in practice! (Theres my comedy!) Sure,he was an assistant on her staff for a few years but I wouldn't call him an Eades disciple. I don't know what his plans are for the next few years but I'm sure he will do what he can in efforts to get the middle school girls ready for the next level and the new coach.

  3. Agreed, Hargis. It is over.... The last time I heard anything was that they had about 12-14 applicants for the job. I hope they act swiftly in hiring. They used to have a pretty good turn-out for aau teams, but it fell as well. I know Coach Panter at Middle School has 4th/5th team I believe so she is trying! Ladies, we are proud of your exhausting efforts this year and in years past. Always be the good example and do not become a bad example for those little eyes that look up to you. I hope the next coach has time and some backing from the community in order to right this ship. Everyone keep their heads high and practice hard! Then play hard! then win...... Good luck Warren Co. Take care....Peace out!

Lets not forget about Coach Brewer. He is still working with a couple of middle school AAU girls teams.

  4. I've seen a marked improvment in the Dekalb Co. program under Coach Shockley's direction. I am sad that he is leaving. Maybe they have someone that learned from him, to take his place. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

Boy's Head Coach Lynus Martin assisted Shockley this past season. I don't know he could handle both squads? He also assists with a very good football team. Hope they get a coach pretty soon to begin with an offseason program.

  5. Why would she not be ready as a coach. Look at their previous hires. Smith had no head coaching experience at the highschool level. Kiel no experience, Turner no experience, Holt(baseball) no experience. Madewell worked at pretty well coming from the middleschool. She deserves the job. The boys will play hard for her. Going outside the county hasnt been the greatest thing to do in the past. Turner was a huge flop. Anybody remember Tidwell. Maybe the people who search are just as big a problem as the coaches themselves. Nobody else in the county could handle the job besides her. Look at the facts about her and make a judgement about her abilities not who she is related to. She is the best boys coach is Warren County from my perspective.

I just thought I would let everyone know that Coach Moore has not appliied for high school job. She is very happy at the middle school and will continue to do a fantastic job teaching and preparing these young men for the next level.

  6. Hearing that middle school coach is at the top of players and parents list. She has run the AAU program in the previous years and I believe is still running most of the older groups this year. Cant argue with her success when it comes to W's and L's. If they hire from inside the county she is the best applicant out there IMO.

I would agree! Placing gender aside this is the best coach in Warren County hands down! Her players have always give 110%. And of all the middle school games I have attended she has never been out coached!!
