1. From what I gathered from a post I saw earlier on here, the Guymns were told they had to act right and they chose to quit instead.

I don't know the OR Coach but he seems to do a good job with the talent he is given, which isn't much. I think baseball in Oak Ridge is probably the last thing kids go out for. That will be and always has been a football school. Heck, it seems like that school does pretty well in just about every sport so I'm sure he has to scrape the barrel just to field a team.

Does anyone know where the SS is going? He seems like a decent small school pick up with some habits that could be fixed with the right college coach.

the guymons werent told to act right and chose to quit. i know the oak ridge coach and all three guymons personally. Froning has been driving players out of playing baseball for years. Oak Ridge has the talent of any team in their district year in and year out almost. the difference is how much the players develop throughout their high school careers...it seems oak ridge relies on how good there players were as a freshman. any coach that has been at a school for more than a decade with only 2 seasons above .500 maybe is doing something wrong. Nelson Glover never had problems with the talent he was given. :thumb:

  2. Hm lets see. He was throwing 88-90 for maybe the first two innings. And he couldn't locate his curveball or change up all night long. I didn't say he was untouchable, he just had a bad night that he normally doesn't have. If we're talking about untouchable, then we're talking about Phillip Pfieffer. Oh and he's a freshman. And in the newest PerfectGame poll, Farragut is 8th in the nation.

Didn't Pfieffer get a few bombs hit off him in some scrimmages?

  3. QUOTE(A-Rod @ Mar 27 2007 - 05:26 PM) 826424269Hey domination3 dont talk bat about me or any other player on our team on here, this isnt the place for it, if your going to talk bad about a play say it to his face not behind thier back man, until your batting over 400 hitting 30 homeruns and going to be the 1# draft pick dont say anything ok. And i have know clue who utbaseball14 is.

our team? i have never been on any team with you

  4. QUOTE(UTBaseball14 @ Mar 26 2007 - 10:36 PM) 826423589And domination 3 and johndoe has to be from that trashy redneck guymon family. And um nice try with the stats, he was 4 for 4 I was there and if you noticed his brother was NOT there so I dont know why you would think it would be. And I know he is batting over 400 so nice try with the .302 crap. How could you ever call him a headcase?? How could you talk bad about your own players? Oak Ridge is just as trashy as the parents I do know from OR who have kids on the team have been telling me over the year. It's nothing but freshman parents backstabbing and manipulating coaches to get their sons PT when parents should just let the kids have fun and play. Chris is MUCH better outfielder than any freshman by such a long shot, he has yet to drop a ball and has a CANNON for an arm. I just cant believe these people are bad mouthing you knowing you will read it "arod", just ignore them and keep playing amazing ball big man!

oh EXCUSE ME, i am terribly sorry for the mistake, I've checked and that Winfree's batting average isnt .302 sorry to be so off. I have now learned that is .304, that explains it all sorry for my TERRIBLE mistake, i see why he is being scouted now,

  5. QUOTE(UTBaseball14 @ Mar 26 2007 - 07:30 PM) 826423374Well they lost to Halls tonight 6-5. I was there and it was a great game. I finally got to see the Winfree kid first hand and I must say I was very impressed. He is a 6'3 switch hitter batting cleanup and went 4 for 4 with a handfull of RBI's. I asked about the kid and found out he is a huge diamond in the rough and finally getting to showcase himself for OR. I've heard alot about the Foxworth kid as well and from what I hear having him and Winfree batting in the middle of the lineup has the potential of being one of the most dangerous tandems in the District. Oak Ridge looked very impressive and it looks like they are going to have a great year! If anybody has any information regarding the recruitment of the Foxworth and Winfree kid I would love to hear. A quick question for anybody from OR, why in the world is Winfree not playing in the field? I asked one of the parents from Karns and they said he has an absolute cannon from the outfield but he has freshman in there instead, whats up with that? Let the kid play he's a senior!!!

Well if you read the Oak Ridger you would probably see, the freshman your talking about, is hitting .300 and Winfree is hitting .304. Yes Winfree has a better average but he does not have as many at bats. Both are good players but if you look into things (slugging percentage, strikeouts, etc.) I'd give the freshman the position, because he's going to help you on in the future.

  6. QUOTE(scoopz4 @ Mar 11 2007 - 01:27 PM) 826408138Haven't heard much about the Wildcats yet. How do yall think they will do in the district this year?

The cats earned another win tonight pushing there record to 4-0.

A great 9 inning game took place tonight for them and they pulled through and came out on top.

Oak Ridge has had a great start.

  7. Who are the best catchers in the state regardless of classification?

I haven't caught a regular season game of him yet, but people have told me, Mason Guymon has shown a great amount of promise behind the plate, blocking up everything, and his bats been looking good lately.

  8. QUOTE(noquarter @ Feb 9 2007 - 07:56 PM) 826365535Whos your top ten in AA?

Anderson County is up there with the best of them, this team has what it takes to win state. They have almost every starter from last year returning, not to mention, probably the strongest sophomore class in the district with Jordan Rorex who is an outstanding player, Adam Guinn is a strong player on the corners, and Eric York shows a lot of speed and will help them with pitching. Other stand out players in my mind are Aaron Guinn, who is an all out good player, his only weakness is probably his speed. Cory Stooksbury is a very good up the middle. Also there #1 pitcher (in my mind) Matt Byrge.

    This team will go places

  9. QUOTE(CenterField13 @ Mar 15 2007 - 10:47 AM) 826412888Ryan McPherson for JCM went all 7 innings in JCM's win vs. Madison and struck out 13 BATTERS!!!!!! There's only 21 outs in high school and he K'd 13 of em!!!!!!

    GO COUGARS!

Monday I watched the Oak Ridge-Central game and Cody Williamson went 6 2/3 innings, striking out 15 of them. That's got to be up there somewhere.

  10. I already know that there is a Mason Guymon on the Oak Ridge Wildcat team, and i know that there is a freshman in there, Morgan Guymon. I've heard rumor that there is going to be a third one coming up next year. Is there any truth to this? and if the 3rd one makes varsity, has there ever been a 3 brothers varsity combo?

  11. QUOTE(MADDOG00 @ Mar 13 2007 - 11:15 AM) 826410250They took down the Bobcats of Central last night in the season opener. Cody Williamson had 15 K's for the Wildcats, and the ridgers had 10 hits. Things are looking up in Oak Ridge!

Cody Williamson is going to be a dominate pitcher in the east this year, and he's only in his sophomore year. The wildcats also have a great junior catcher in Mason Guymon.
