1. QUOTE(doc19 @ Apr 14 2007 - 08:06 AM) 826437266Clearly these 2 will end up in the Region finals. What is up with McNairy playing all the weak teams twice and padding the win-loss record. Why are they not in the USJ Tournament this year? Maybe some of the McNairy players can answer this. I know there is a new coach.

I don't know why we play so many weak teams like South Side, Madison, and Ripley... I don't think players get to schedule the games they play. Its not too far away until the district/region tournaments. post your predictions on how they will place each team 1-10.

i believe it will be like this.

    1.McNairy Central

    2.Madison

    3.Haywood

    4.Sheffield

    5.Covington

    6.Chester

    7.Crockett

    8.South Side

    9.Ripley

    10.Fayette Academy

    .

    7.Crockett vs 10.Fayette----7.Crockett

    8.South Side vs 9.Ripley----8.South Side-----then....

  2. QUOTE(madisonLB @ Apr 10 2007 - 09:34 PM) 826434400honestly... their field was as big as a play sand box... no room to do anything which killed madison, and their field was gigantic clumps of dirt... unreal field... i think they had 1 shot in the whole game... it wasn't even fare... madison dominated... but it happens... covington are one of those teams that pack everything in the center of the field, and on a tiny field its impossible to play... not a strong team, but the field was unreasonable to play on

QUOTE(madisonLB @ Apr 11 2007 - 03:46 PM) 826435131No madison didnt blow them out, but the field was the only thing that prevented them from doing so... covington only had maybe 1 or 2 shots in the game... they didnt threaten at all, infact hardly were in the madison half, but madison didnt put their chances away

Madison...if you complained this much about Covingtons field, your in for a treat when you get to where Sheffield plays at..American Way Middle School, that is where we played them. i feel sorry for your keeper.. I barely could touch their crossbars, when on regulation size , i can hang from them.. they have the biggest goals for soccer i have ever seen.. and the nets were held down with old tires..not to mention their field is about 80 yards or less in length. the 18 line is where the pk spot should be and the pk is like 8 feet from the goal. so good luck if yall play on this field lol.

  3. I think sheffield will come out on top in this game. it will be a close one, my guess.... 2-1 thats just opinion , I have played against both teams and I think they are evenly matched... this game could decide where sheffield is placed in region 8 district 15.

    post your predictions here.

  4. i am not sure . i am trying to figure everything out.. i know last year they were added to district 15. i don't think they got a automatic berth to regions. i dont know how they were placed. but they beat both teams in the district tournament.. adding them as a 9th team makes it where one original team from 15 has to play their way into the district. that team playing 3 games instead of two. which is a little unfair.

  5. Hey, do any of you know how they are going to split up the teams for the district tournament in region 8 District 15? with the 9th team (sheffield) being thrown in there. i can't seem to figure out how they are going to group the teams and be fair about things? with 9 teams . one team will have to play their way in or something. just wanting to find out a lil more about things before TSSAA throws everything together.

  6. I couldn't ever figure out how to edit it off. it is on the McNairy and Haywood schedules (not on the forum). I just thought Haywood wouldn't like a loss on their schedule.. yet. but if it is too much trouble, don't worry about it. Thanks BigG. and sorry for the trouble.

  7. well our team is going to practice on sunday and play Sheffield on monday. everyone who is not going on vacation will most likely practice during the week.

BigG if it doesnt bother you, will you edit the McNairy vs. Haywood score , we havent played yet. it was a mistake.

    Thanks.

  8. Calm down everyone, its just a game. Theres better things to worry about than the past. We will find out who the better team is when we play again. I don't agree with TSSAA just throwing Sheffield into our district, it is unfair to us. Last year they threw them in sub B, and somehow made it where McNairy had to beat 3 teams to go to region... when all the other teams only had to play 2. talk about unfair. and on Eurosport where is the first year team, Fayette Academy, going to be thrown in the mix at? everyone in district 15 plays Sheffield for a regular season game except Ripley, Jackson South Side, and Chester Co. Since they are said to be such a good team, why cant they add them to a more competitive district?

  9. QUOTE(madisonLB @ Mar 14 2007 - 06:50 PM) 826411903I'll give McNairy credit where credit is due... they won... on a controversial goal, because it was a 1 vs 1 and our defender was shielding the ball, Mcnairy player grabs his jersey and pulls him back and the ref. says play on and they score. Bad call, but it happens. You may look at madison and say "oh they must not be good at all this year after losing so many seniors," but 1 of their captains was sitting out on suspension for swearing LAST YEAR!!... what a joke... o well he will be back tomorrow and i think chester county are just as strong as McNairy, so we will see if madison is boosted by the return of their captain...

McNairy Central came out and played aggressive the entire game resulting in a win. The controversial "winning" goal was scored by putting pressure on a defender and stealing the ball close to the goal, there was no grabbing of any jersey and such. Shielding the ball infront of the goal isn't such a great idea anyways, plus the ball was bouncing. The Refs called the game fairly, McNairy recieving around 5 freekicks (none close enough to shoot and most on our half) and madison getting around 20 freekicks (most of them were close enough for them to shoot or cross). One player cannot make a team that much better. McNairy was also missing one of their starters (exchange student from Germany). so both teams were a man down, making it an even game. Don't rule out McNairy yet.
