Blevins = pretender

Jody is an excellent coach but Blevins is a better X and O coach in my opinion. Jody's forte is defense but he is average at offensive X & O's. Blevins is an excellent offensive coach whose team plays good defense. Jody has the best athletes which gives him the advantage.

 

What a stupid comment. Blevins sucks at all aspects. Get a good coach over there and you will win titles.

Didnt go to Bearden. As i said before BLEVINS is NOT a good coach. Just because he wins during season against average talent means absolutely nothing. He cant win a title. You thinking he is a great coach is unintelligent. Give it up and admit it and you will feel better about it. SLAP!

My comment was merely based on facts and you have them just as well as I do....those dang numbers don't lie. Your last comment is based on your opinion and not backed by factual evidence this year...the bottom line is that they both competed at the AAA level this year and lost. I don't have a problem with Blevins 5 in and 5 out style. Obviously it worked 33 times this year. Regardless of the substitution style, when you go 15-31 at the charity stripe, and you are playing a good team, you aren't going to win many close games....ask your boys over at AE why FT shooting is important. Also, making Blevins or any head coach sit the entire game and not being allowed to coach his team that he has been coaching all season long plays a huge role in the flow of the game. Rules are rules and with the bench being assested a "T" at the beginning of the game, I can't argue the point, but I still think it is a garbage rule.

 

From what I am told by spectators that attended the game (not just Bearden fans), neither team really got into the flow of the game. A total of 50 fouls were called and the total amount of FT's shot between the 2 teams were 68. From those stats, it appears that the refs were calling a very tight game from baseline to baseline.

 

Those aren't excuses, those are facts. Turtle, why would I not have confidence in my Bulldogs...they won 33 games this past year(one in which they beat your AE cackrunners by 42). Win or lose, I will cheer them on every single day of my life.

The best team I saw in Murfreesboro the past 5 years was a AA team that just happened to go to AAA and now is going back to AA... So basically they are a AAA team!!!! 06-07 Liberty was an awesome team!!! This guy 'mine273' has a VERY good point!!!! AE & Fulton both get handled by Bearden and what does it get Bearden nothing straight up out of the tournament! Either of 2 things does this: 1) AE & Fulton just aren't that good or 2) AAA teams are just that MUCH better!! Either way GovMan your statement contradicts the facts! I wonder. How did they win a state championship while only losing to 2 teams all year, when they are THAT horrible at handling the ball? There was a time when competition prevented teams like that from even being anywhere near a State Tournament. That was pitiful, seriously.

 

Seemed like both teams came out looking pretty below average. BTW only scores 8 points in the entire first half yet only trails by 13 because Fulton could only manage 21 points in the same span. BTW had more height, speed and individual talent. Play together and take reasonable shots(along with the pressure defense), and you run away with a title. For goodness sakes, those guys were HOOOOOOOORRIBLE at handling the ball. Some of yall try too hard at analyzing these games. The best "team" won. Look, it's this simple: 2 different players for Fulton got away with an obvious travel on the same possession. Then, the clock ran out on BTW. Before that, both teams looked like trash on offense. Fulton just got their nerves together much faster. FYI, BTW missed PLENTY lay-ups in the 1st quarter, and you could tell that they were obviously too hyped up when they were driving. Afterwards, they began to settle too much for ridiculous shots. Then Fulton couldn't get the ball past halfcourt. You people are talking some guys they have who are supposed to be going to college somewhere. Well, WHERE WERE THOSE GUYS WHEN IT CAME TIME TO DRIBBLE THE BALL? Do they not run press offense in practice? Run a man to the middle of the floor and beat the trap. It's easy.

You protected your comment by not giving the specifics surrounding these two teams but I helped you out as to not let your bold comment lead us all astray! Now you just made me get ignorant on you about your comment. AE got dragged around the court by Bearden 109-67 and Fulton got drubbed in the same fashion by Bearden 66-52. Now if you consider those teams good, then you really need to stop giving your opinion. They are good in AA play...is that what you meant to write? Don't get me wrong, I have no qualms about the teams because they can only grow from those defeats and I applaud their coach for stepping up and challenging his team. But on the other hand, Bearden coach gets a failing grade for dipping within the realm of AA play considering the monstrous team he supposedly had for this season. It is just two many great AAA teams within the state of TN to dip that low and proved to be their demise! GO EAGLES...silent but deadly!

Jalen is solid no doubt but Mr. Jackson is the truth ranked 15th in the nation in the 2010 class there is no question he is the best Jr in this class behind him is Jackson Northside's Casey Prather they have DI Major talent Steele is on that Mid Major level

Both are great players! I have watched both. All you people say Jackson is the TRUTH, steele is too, I am sure he has improved a lot and so has Steele. They will both be big time recruits when they graduate and both will be D1 prospects,

Wheter they are AA or A or AAA Fulton is still a great team. Won a state championship last year and i still playing this year. Whats wrong with playing good teams within the same city? Fulton has one of the best players in the state not just AA but all classifications. I dont like Bearden at all but saying AA schools are no good or Fulton is no good. The game Bearden won 66-52 fultons best player was out due to illness. AE was ranked #1 but they are a headcase with another dumb coach. Believe what you want but those 2 teams have enough athletic ability to not only compete with AAA schools but beat them as well.

By no means and i taking up for Bearden but they played Fulton twice this year and beat them by 2 and 14. Also played AE. So they have played a couple more teams that are good

Bearden played three worthy opponents this year out of 38 games......and lost all three! Bearden by 17, you need to put that pipe down because it stunts your growth and tends to keep one from thinking rationally as in your case! GO EAGLES...silent but deadly!

I didnt think Bearden could win it all but you did make one bad comment here. Bearden played Fulton twice this year and Fulton is a very good team as you can see they are playing in state tourney. Plus AE was a good team too. So they beat 2 quality opponents

This should be another great game for Livingston Academy. We had the gym packed last night and I am sure it will be even more crowded tomorrow night. Expect to hear the famous H-O-G E-Y-E chant all night long.

bearden is going to win state!! hands down!! nobody has the depth of them. they have all the right mixtures. coach b is hard on his players, like he sit Jenkins in the first quarter of farragut region semi final game. also bearden struggled with farragut because they previously beat them by 43 and 20. that game wasnt a rivalry game to them anymore. but when bearden focuses like they did oak ridge, first farragut, and austin east game then noone in state can beat them!!!!

I agree. As everyone knows on this board, I am Bearden Supporter. I have been a fan for over 16 years when I first started school as a Freshman. I can honestly say that this is the best team that they have ever had in the history of their program. I don't neccessarily think that I am being Cocky as JudyJoe says, I do however feel confident about the ability of the team to win the state....Their 32-3 record speaks for itself. One thing that I don't understand, is how fans of Memphis teams get on here and don't actually cheer for their own team. I have no idea what teams that you are cheering for. You base your entire argument on how MEMPHIS bball is dominant over any part of the State. Obviously, that is the case based on the number of titles that West TN has brought home in all classifications. However, I would like to know which teams you guys are actually cheering for and are a fan of

I have seen both east and west tennessee teams play and Bearden is behind in a lot of area. So feartheveer please quit getting on here stating how great Bearden is. They are good but they were good last year and watch the state tournament and if you dont think its possible ask AE. Thats a talented group of players with the same caliber of coach. Actually Blevins is better but still not great. Bearden will make it to the boro this year but will come home short like normal for them

I thought it was a fairly well officiated game. Let a little too much go when the ball handler was bring the ball down the court but that was the only complaint I had. Kept the game under control when emotions got high, so I have no complaint there. They may not have always made the right call but at least they were consistent.

 

 

AE is probably in the top 3 in the state so I say they roll on tomorrow. And I believe Fulton will pull the upset on Stone. Haven't seen stone this year so can't really pick that one too well. Good luck to all teams.

You get on here and bash our district, you are entitled to your opinion but name your school before bashing everyone else. I remember 2 weeks ago a kid at Bearden (I'm sure he was a Fulton fan) telling me that Fulton was going to destroy Catholic's j.v. team too many athletes is what he said, but the Irish defeated Fulton by 20 plus points. If not for some late threes by Fulton it would have been worse. I'm not comparing varsity to j.v. (to completely different teams in terms of skill and talent) but the games are played on the court and in a one game elimination who knows what can happen (February Frenzy or March Madness to borrow a phrase). You are correct about one thing the region goes through Fulton since the TSSAA gave them the region tournament for the 2nd time in three years.

You are delusional. It would not matter where they played and you know it. Come one now. Whoever wins this district will win a region game but after that no one else will win. The other district is too strong.

Since it's so easy to shut him down why did you guys let him score 9 points in 30 seconds to beat you? Pretty good talk for a team that's 1-9 life time against the Irish.
