Allen had several opportunities at different colleges and a couple of options for minor league but mad a wise choice in staying local and going to a junior college and this decision was made by Allen for reason's that are very important to his life. I have always been proud of you and your brothers for the accomplishments you guy's have made, as a matter of fact I told your mom a couple of weeks back what fine young men all of you are and I wish you great success. While being proud of these guy's, please help me in being proud of them as well instead of making gestures at them or him or fans.

He made a WISE decision! Allen will have some growing pains at the next level. It will be interesting to see how he handles the change. I wish him well.

would central not have the momentum coming off a win over cleveland? all while polk is setting at the house? the reason i said i wish this game was later in the year because it is a huge rivalry game..i hate to see tennessee and florida play in early september...same with polk and central....you ask what has central accomplished by beating cleveland if they do, what has polk accomplished? had to come from behind to beat bradley central? what i'm saying is central can take a lot more from the loss to mcminn than polk did vs bradely. mcminn county is expected to finish second in that tough district to only ooltewah. bradley will be bringing up the rear. call me an arrogant central fan if you want to, but i just don't see how you are so sure polk wins this game...its gonna be close...
I didn't say it wouldn't be close just that Polk would win. Why are you so sure Central wins in a close game or do you?

Also let me say that you bashing Bradley is pretty bad considering Bradley will most likely beat Cleveland this year from the reports I am hearing. Cleveland could be 0-2 against Bradley and WV. So if Central beats Cleveland what have they actually accomplished? It appears to me it would be the same as Polk beating Bradley. Don't try and diminish Polk's win over Bradley!
My prediction is that Polk will win this one. I am basing this on scrimmages against same teams and reports from the coach's who have also scrimmaged both Central and Polk.
Good luck to both teams next week and hopefully no injuries!
Sure I want to see Central do good, especially for a few Seniors, and their quality coaching staff (yes, Polk has a fine staff, too!). I also want to see Polk do good, but will be rooting for Central against Polk.
And I guess that qualifies me as an arrogant fan just because I think Central will beat Polk? Am I calling you arrogant because you predict Polk will beat Central? How childish and immature some people can be!

ya know loyalcharger it makes me wonder just what would have happened differently last friday night!
I talked with some people close to the McMinn program and from what they said "Our offense played terrible, missed blocks, no execution etc". So I don't really think you can take last Friday's score and relate it to how really good either team is. Lets ask this question; What if McMinn had played a great game? So what if's mean nothing!

Hope he proves you wrong. Only time will tell, injury, if he plays at all in college. Wish you would do the same and not bash the kids. But I guess it's the in breeding.

I said I would never bash any Charger - regardless where they signed! I would never bash any kid from Polk either - but be glad to compare baseball programs Central vs Polk - any stat, any result, and any day.
Mexican you bashed the Jr College some of these young men signed to play with, so therefore you are bashing the kids. As for the Polk vs Central stats how far are you willing to go back? Remember talent comes in cycles and I remember years where both teams were not very good period and that goes with most schools.

Not taking sides but I saw the baseball game that is being discussed and it was pretty sad. Especially when all the football coach's were sitting there finding joy in the harrassment of a kid. I don't think I would be on here bragging just yet one and two probable winning seasons does not give you the right. Good luck!

And yes, they will come see juniors! Why do you think most of the SEC teams already have commits around 15 to 20 each for this years recruiting class? If you are a junior, you better be making the effort on friday nights, you never know who is watching!!
Yes they look at JR's ex. Aaron Douglas from Maryville commited as a JR but he was a 4 star recruit. If your a SR and not had any contacts from a D1 schools as a JR chances are your not going D1!!!

Watson...is not an SEC player...i think he can play D-1 but not sec...WHAT position will he play in college
Jackson could have been but trouble outside of school will hurt him and maybe grades, the only way D1 teams would overlook his troubles off the field would be if he was absolutely incredible and a 5 star prospect.
Watson is a good high school player but not D1 material he will probably end up at a small school like Slack. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Most of the Blue faithful know how to act. We have been "there" in basketball a bunch and baseball couple of times. It is a very few that causes problems. But I would like to mention one thing about the tallent pool, there are about 22 juniors that might not think the pool is going to dry up next year.
I am not talking about basketball or baseball. BTW how many times have you won it all in basketball? Always a bridesmaid never a bride....!! I do wish McMinn Central the best of luck. As for your JR's and Soph. they will be very average compared to the SR's that you are losing.

Let me just say McMinn Central should win the region this year with the talent they have. However, next year the talent pool will be dry and we will see just how good Coach Derrick really is. Lets face the fact's Ray Charles could win with the athletes he has right now. Coach T needs to start a McMinn Central site for you folks. I could understand if you folks were Maryville, South Pitt. or Alcoa but one winning season leads to all this hype and talk. People would think by all these threads that Central has been a powerhouse in football forever and its just the opposite. Here is some advice for you Mcminn Central fans as Bear Bryant once said to a player celebrating after he scored, " Act like you have been there before ".

yea i've wathed central play all year acutually and they do make some errors but they haven't in every game this year and go look at the games they didnt make errors and see how bad they won those games. for some reason they play better behind shaw anyway so i dont look for them to mess up hardly any. and to the part about the hitters they only have one weak spot in the line-up the number 1-5 hitters are bound to put the ball in play alomst everytime so i wouldnt really say you can pitch around them if you mess up and give a good pitch to coleman walker or williams or even starr somebody will have a souviner behind the outfield fence im still going with central in this one
My assessment of Central was right on from the game I watched last night and in other games I have seen them play. Central has average hitters against good pitching and their defense is very error prone. As for the players mentioned above they are more of a line drive type hitter's but once in a while they may hit it one out but not very often.

So your sayin McMinn Central a very good team will not make it that far? They have the tallent and the want to to make it all the way and if they are playing their game nobody will keep them going all the way
Evidently you have not seen them play much. Central makes alot of errors and their hitter's can be pitched too. Central is a good team with Shaw pitching and if he is on his game, without Shaw they are average.

can anyone explain to me how the polls are done and how polk is ranked 3rd ....i dont know bout marion but i am very confused about why schedule strenth plays no part in the ranking because i know that polks schedule strength was WEAK
Let's not talk about schedule strength when both Central and Polk play in one of the weakest districts in the state. As for non-district games Polk's and Central's were very similar. As for being "OVER-RATED" the polls are by the coach's if I remember correctly so evidently some people brighter than you two fellows think Polk should be ranked. Believe it or not the Polk team you seen Wednesday is not the same Polk team that has been playing the whole year they made I believe 5-6 errors in this game. On another note Central Wednesday is not the same team that I have seen play previously at Loudon and elsewhere, they average about 3-4 errors per game but Wednesday they made none. That's baseball anyone can win on any given night!

i think shaw and rayburn will both be on their game when either one of them get on the mound. shaw has finally got back to where he was last year. i dont think him and the other four seniors will let this be their last game because they have the tallent to make it to the burro. im pickin central in a close one 7-4
IMHO neither Polk or Central will go to Murfreesboro. Both will be lucky to win Monday. I hope I am wrong but don't see it happening.

How is it that Central has played 15 games and they have two everyday starters in the Times Free Press hitting over .550. One has 16 AB's and the other has 12 and in those 15 games they have scored 92 runs! How many walks do they have? Something doesn't seem right with those numbers!! Face it they came to play and kick our tail .. They were the better team. We were off balance at the plate because their pitcher pitch 1 whale of a game. They hit the baseball we didn't. No fluke last night the better team won. They have at least 5 players that have signed to play at the College level.. As far as the State Tournament goes we can not look that far ahead. Cleveland is who we should be focused on... As far as who's the better team 9-3 speaks for itself. BTW does anyone in Rockwood know where I can get some BBQ sauce that crow is a little dry
Good post! Glad to see someone can take those Rose Colored Glasses off and realize this is baseball. Sometimes you just plain get beat.

i would have thrown at him and the pitcher all they wanted to do was talk. i even heard coach say something about how disrepectful the third baseman was to him.. Rockwood was nothing but trash last night. no wonder we couldnt hit their pitching it was so dang slow. but anyway good luck rockwood with your tough schedule against harriman and greenback o yeah dont forget oakdale. man the tough district should get you ready for a substate loss. but its ok we still get to come to your place for some revenge. yall may have the more college signees but our players are going to better colleges. RS? ha what a joke.
District 5AA is not exactly a powerhouse, so lets not start throwing stones when we live in glass houses!

My son's team the Cleveland Stars played at this tournement at Chatt. State. I saw every game at that field and no ball was hit close to the fence. The team that he played for was ETB. He had some nice hits in that tournament but NONE were off the fence. In that tournament he was probably the third best player on his team. They had a nice first baseman and shortstop. Don't get me wrong he is a good hitter with power. It's not fair to build a freshman up with these high expections without even playing a high school game. BUT in that district a talented freshman should contribute to his team.
As I stated this came from one of the parents from that team, whom I have known for some time and is no relation to the mentioned player. The parent has no reason to stretch the truth or blow up this kid! However, I find it hard to believe that you watched every game on that field and saw every at bat for every team. BTW you sound kind of bitter or jealous. Did this team beat your sons team? As for the district it is weak but Polk, Central and Meigs have played the Bradley County schools very tough the last few years in various tournaments. One last thing you must remember is Bradley and Cleveland schools are much larger than those in district 5AA and you guys can recruit talent from within your county. These smaller county schools have to play with the hands they are dealt.

Central was against the split .. Heard Trip was the master mind behind it, and this came from a Polk Parent..
Sundance from my understanding Coach Hart was not against the split but was against how the divisions were divided up. I certainly can see his point but if I'm Coach Triplett, I would love it having to play Boyd, Howard, Brainerd, and Tyner to win your division. Also heard Meigs's new coach was none too happy about it either.

runs a "legit" 4.7 and is 6'0" 190 is more than likely doing something. But I would bet he is 5'10 1/2
180 lbs and runs a 4.85. Everybody always embellishes these stories. But again, I have no idea who you're talkng about. Is he a catcher?

This 6'0 190 lb freshman that runs a 4.7 sounds like he is on steroids.One more testament to this young man. He started for Polk in football for the last three games of the year and was Polk's defensive player of the game for the last two regular season games against McMinn Central and Notre Dame and was second in defensive points for their playoff game. I don't know if he is a catcher but from what I have heard from others is he can play anywhere if he works at it and can hit with power to all parts of the field. Heard from one of his summer league parents that he hit one over the scoreboard at Ringgold High and hit the centerfield fence at Chatt. State on a line. Very excited to see this kid play. I hope all these expectations does not overwhelm him. As Sundance said earlier he could be something special!!

So basically you know nothing or have no clue what so ever. Let's see in your previous post Lexington lost last year because they dyed their hair and Polk will lose because they shaved their heads and they have not ever been in the tournament? I think Farragut did something similar to this last year I guess they didn't know they were suppose to act like they had been there before! If your going to make prediction give us something that actually has some validity.
