I thought the name of this thread was Hampton and Unaka........Sure Unaka is down, they lost a ton of talent. Estep, the whole d-line. they only have about 3 or 4 seniors and NO LEADERSHIP. but the younger kids are trying hard, most of them freshmen. Give them some words of encouragement. Crazyness, good to hear from you. I think Unaka will be fine. They will have a good season regardless. I don't mean to get off the subject, but have you or anyone else on the creek heard if Brittany Taylor had her baby today? And if so, is everyone o.k?

Today at 2:00 in the school Library Estep #53, 2-time All-State linebacker and Defensive player of the year in the

Mtn. East Conference will sign with Emory & Henry College to play football for Don Montgomery's Wasp this fall.

the 6'2'' 220lb. Senior will graduate on May 23, with Honors,a 3.8 GPA and several awards and scholarships. Estep broke every record at the school a linebacker could, including 537 tackles in his 4 years at Unaka. 28 solo tackles in a single game (the playoff game at Oneida) and 180 his senior year. All of us here on the Creek are very proud of you Jacob, look forward to seeing you play for the Wasps. GOOD LUCK IN ALL YOU DO!!!!!!

I heard Estep and Little lunceford got a couple of awards at the Football Hall of Fame scholar athlete

banquet at Holiday Inn last night, they were recognized for outstanding academic achivement as well as athletic. I think besides being great football players they both have a 3.8 GPA! way to go boys! CONGATULATIONS............. you represent Cater County well!!!!

We got a couple over here in Cosby getting offers to walk on at some small schools but nothing major. Got several juniors gettin looked at for the upcoming season however.

Looks like there isn't anybody from all those Cloudland fans on this thread who wants to tell you, I guess they are ashamed. If Cloudland had won it would have made the paper and been all they talked about on here, so what does that tell you? Unaka kicked their BUTT!!!!!!! Josh Peterson threw 4 or 5 touchdown passes. I think The final score was 34 to something not much.

I call BS on this stat . there is no way he's making close to 20 tackles a game.

I think Cosby football is BS, here in Carter County we call Estep's stats adding (something you may not know how to do there in Eagle land) Check the Johnson city press or the Elizabethton Star you can see these stats for yourself. look back over the games and add, it's that simple.

As for the "best" player on any team, the other ten boys on the field make them the "best" player. Lets start with Lunsford from Hampton, Great QB but if he had no one to throw to he's nothing, he can't throw it to his self and if he runs with it he's got to have a line to block. Estep from Unaka, probably one of the best linebackers I've ever saw play at the high school level. sure a linbacker does alot on his own but without a team he's nothing. Same for Hughes, from Cloudland good running back but no line to block where is he going? NO WHERE. Let's just let these Great young men and players play the game they love and quit worrying about who's the best player on each team. some of them are playing their last season and the don't need to be side tracked by this bull of am I better than so & so! In my opinion anyone of them that gets out and plays or practice in this heat are good and VERY tough!

As for region 1, Jacob Estep from Unaka. Hampton will some players on it , I'm just not sure who they will be right yet. Could be linemen, a couple of backs has a shot and I expect a big year out of the QB.

I also think Jacob Estep from Unaka will make it in region one. If he has any where near the season he had last year, I think he will make State again. Hampton also has A couple of boys very capable of making it.

Jacob Estep- Unaka, All state last year and had over 150 tackles, 3 ints., 5 force fum., 2 fum. rec., ect.

I'll have to agree with Ranger country, although we have several good linebackers in east Tn.

Estep stands high above the rest, I've gotten the chance to watch him play several games over the last couple of years and he has a nose for the ball and tackling ability unlike any LB I've ever seen. all-state again this year I'm sure.

I'll have to go with Estep on this one! I've watched him play alot and when it comes to linebackers he's tough to beat. Always plays hard.

just looking forward to spring practice. Hampton should be good again this year. Cloudland will be down again I think with another new coach. Unaka should surprise some people.
