1. QUOTE(deeppurple @ Apr 11 2007 - 12:18 PM) 826434884It's Swader not Swider. Way to go Bulldogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great team work. Swader also had two great blocks at the end of the game to hold a runner on third base from scoring. That made a big difference in the outcome. I don't think the throw down first base affected the outcome of the game. Again, Great Job Bulldogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

don't think the catcher position is the problem. its first base. heard first base cost smyrna a run again against mj.

  2. QUOTE(eagle26 @ Apr 17 2007 - 10:52 PM) 826439975riverdaleman or whoever may know: who were the pitchers?

no. 3 for mj and grey for smyrna. smyrna brought in pack but it was to late.

  3. QUOTE(riverdaleman @ Apr 17 2007 - 10:43 PM) 826439960i think the final was 4-1 MJ hit a 3 run HR to win it

  4. QUOTE(hsbaseballfan03 @ Apr 17 2007 - 02:07 PM) 826439539A shutout is a shutout and its impressive regardless of who you are playing. Two grandslams in one game is definitely a feat that isn't achieved very often at all and that is pretty noteworthy too. However since the grandslams weren't in the same inning I am not impressed either. (j/k) Congratulations on what sounds like a heckuva night.

    /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> man inappropriate you are cold. a shutout is a shutout. great job on the 2 grandslams. that is impressive. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

  5. QUOTE(whooleyman07 @ Apr 11 2007 - 09:37 PM) 826435462Swider is a good cathcher and i dont know other catcher for Smyrna, but i would start the other catcher Swider didnt do so hott behind the plate until the end of the game, if they dont watch out it might get them beat

Swider is a good catcher and i have seen the pack kid catch for years and he is one of the best iv seen. he played travel ball on all the best teams and alwyas catched. he has a great bat to. can switch hit. blew us away hits better left than right. Why isnt he catching. Swider does a good job most of the time.

  6. QUOTE(2priceless @ Apr 17 2007 - 05:15 PM) 826439639Enrollment is more like 1500 not 2000. We are one of the smallest 5A schools in the state in football, and the smallest enrollment of all the high schools in Rutherford County except for 1A Eagleville.

Pretty amusing for you to say we recruit.......you are the school with Salty.

Go Oakland! All the way to state. Show the big boys how its done. May be the smallest school enrollment in the county besides Eagleville but we will show them how many fans we got. This is our year and we are taking it to the house. The PAT HOUSE.

  7. QUOTE(BwAnG @ Apr 16 2007 - 06:03 AM) 826438360The target on your back, just became that much bigger.

    /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> I think the ole alma mater can handle it /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  8. QUOTE(magoo043 @ Apr 16 2007 - 10:59 PM) 826439111Middleton from Smyrna....Baseball or football!!!!

someone is going to lock him up!!!!!!

Smyrna is dang lucky to have him. Word is they wouldn't have enough kids for a team if it wasn't for him. He builds them up and keeps them going I hear. Can Looper talk? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  9. QUOTE(BulldogDad1 @ Apr 2 2007 - 10:46 AM) 826428174I cannot believe some of you. The guy misses three innings to watch his daughter play a soccer game because it was in the same city that they were playing in at the time. His assistants had it under control. And the players did not want to play sunday, not because they had better things to do but because some were injured and they felt like getting rested up for the week was more important.

three innings may not be nothing to you but championship play in a great tournament is huge. your coach was the talk of championship day and it wasn't pretty. bud looked mighty unhappy and so did some of the guys in purple and gold.

  10. QUOTE(Mwalls14 @ Apr 2 2007 - 02:18 AM) 826428028I can see both opinions about the Smyrna issue. You can forfeit if you want to. But I think it sets a bad example for the kids to go by. Last time I checked, the students don't get to decide whether they play or not. They make a commitment to the program. And maybe that's the problem.

I do understand the Coach being late. It happens. But again, you have a coach who's late and players who don't want to play. Who's in control of this program. By some of the replies, sounds like the parents. That's a big mistake.

And if you're varsity team is that banged up, throw the JV team out there. They'll probably lose, but that won't reflect any more poorly on the program than backing out, and it's valuable experience for next year's varsity team.

When you've got 40 players on a squad, you can find 15 who want to play. Everything else is just an excuse

it is my understanding that the players nor the parents run Smyrna's team, the dictator coach does. I agree with you Mwalls14 that it sets a bad example to forfeit opportunities to play in more baseball games. It seems that this coach had other priorities and commitments on championship day. The same reason he was late is the reason he was committed yesterday. Wonder if his daughters team won the soccer tournament? /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
