  1. First of all, the the first games were played on two inches of snow with blowing snow everywhere. CCS played without four of its starters due to them being gone or little injuries they were trying to get over before the start of the season Tuesday. CCS lost the first game to Pigeon Forge on a terrible call when the keeper from CCS came out to save a ball and he collided with the player but he also got the ball but the referee called the keeper for interference and gave them a PK. After the game the referee told the coach that he should have really let it go. The second game was against Lenoir City in which CCS won 6 to 0 and the third game was against Anderson County and CCS won 1 to 0. CCS played everybody and experimented a whole lot. The weather was definitely a factor with the snow and the wind.
  2. Well, because of injuries a couple of our starters have yet to play in any scrimmages so hopefully by Tuesday they should be at full strength hopefully.
  3. Baylor has a very good team and should get another shot at a state title. CCS was playing without a starting forward and a starting midfielder due to injury so CCS should be able to move past this and have a good season.
  4. CCS is playing in some scrimmages at Sweetwater High School like they have the past couple of years, does anyone know what teams will be participating? The date is Saturday March 8th.
  5. Yes, I believe two will make varsity and they will contribute some this year.
  6. That is bad when guys just decide not to play for whatever reason. DJ would have helped especially since Kit is gone. The team will still do fine I'm sure with the core of players that you still have. CCS has one of the toughest schedules it has had in a while with Alabama power Briarwood Christian and Georgia power Whitewater and throw in Dalton to go along with McCallie, Notre Dame, two or three times, Ooltewah and CSAS.
  7. Well, without playing any games this season yet everything is speculation but two players is the least that any CCS team has lost to graduation in the last five years. Saying that, the two players we lost were our top two scorers in David Wilson and David Miller, but I feel there are players waiting in the wings that can fill those shoes, will they is yet to be seen. There are eleven seniors on the team and the whole defense coming back so for any team that would be a plus. We have high hopes but things like injuries and players not playing up to their potential can hamper that so we will see when they lace them up and hit the field.
  8. They both play for Pedro at PSA also.
  9. What were the names of the players? I know about Kit Brady and Chris Penn. They still have Duncan Keegan, Adam Wright and Steve Harris to name a few so they still have some talent. Losing a keeper is tough, do they have a good one coming back?
  10. Is this game still on for tonight and if so is anyone going that can give me the details and score later? This is going to be between two state champs and I am curious as to how it plays out, even though it's just a scrimmage.
  11. I know that Baylor is primed to repeat and I wish them all the best.
  12. Two of the top scorers graduated but there is ample firepower still in the stable. Last year was supposed to be a down year but they made it all the way to the state semi-finals before falling to CAK 2 to 0. This should be a good year, barring injuries, considering there will be eleven seniors and a lot of experience for a team that makes it a habit of making it to the state tournament. There is also a couple of freshmen that should contribute greatly to the team.
  13. Notre Dame lost their whole defense practically so they will not be as strong.
  14. Sorry, I hit the wrong key. CCS should be pretty strong this year, they only lost two starters but they were a big part of their offense but I think some guys will step up.
  15. I can understand your frustration because the Baylor defense was great. I know that you all have a lot coming back next year and I do wish them the best.
  16. I was just a little upset that it sounded like the CCS goalie did not belong in the Best of Preps. He did not ask for it nor does it matter to him. I agree that what the Baylor defenders did this year was phenomenal and them winning the state championship is all that really matters. I am happy for the Baylor players, coaches and parents because it is something that will never be forgotten. I am friends with many of the players and parents and I wish them the best next year and hopefully a repeat at state.
  17. There is no knock on the CCS defenders they all did a great job and they will all be back next year. What I was trying to state is that sometimes the goalie does not do a whole lot in a game it just depends on how the defense plays in front of him or it can be the caliber of team they are playing and CCS had a pretty tough schedule. Last year he did not touch the ball near as much as he did this year. It is really a good thing for a goalie to display what he can do when he does get tested quite often. CCS had a young untested defense and they did a great job.
  18. What I am sensitive about is when someone states that someone doesn't deserve something they have earned and starts spewing off stats which aren't correct. Also, I was saying that when you have three club players in front of you then you're going to be better off than someone who doesn't. The facts are, club ball is at a higher level than school ball and that is just a hard fact and even though Joel didn't play club ball that is more of the exception than the rule.........
  19. I seen more Baylor games than you could imagine. It does matter if a kid plays club or not, look at the players that made the Best of the Preps, 90% of them were club players. You can always look at a team and pick out the club players without a doubt if you know anything about soccer. I do agree that the State Championship is the most important thing and that is what players strive for all year long.............
  20. I think what you need to look at is saves. CCS's defense did not have one player that played club ball and the CCS keeper had double digit saves in a lot of his games. I know in one of the Notre Dame games, since they played three times, he had 18 saves and the game ended 1 to 0 Notre Dame. Also, in the McCallie game they lost 2 to 0 but it should have been 6 to 0 because he made four great saves. I know that most all, if not all, of the Baylor defenders play club ball and that makes a huge difference as to how many times your keeper will touch the ball. Danny is a good keeper and deserves credit but how active was he during a lot of the games?
  21. Chattanooga Christian loses three seniors, two were starters so they should be pretty strong next year.
  22. I'm sure you have heard of Notre Dame and CSAS which were both in the Top 5 when we beat them in the region tournament. I'm sure you can't boast that.............
  23. Big G, great game. Your team was just the better team last night and made the plays when you had the opportunities. We played hard all year long and had a run of great victories just to get to the state and we ran into a great team and we wish you all the luck and good fortune for your game saturday and in the future. We do plan on seeing you next year in the championship game...........
  24. Grow and brain and then come back and talk to us.............
