1. Another hard fought win by the Lady Rockets, 5-2, great job ladies but just too exciting for some of your older fans!

Yeah!! Way to go girl's, kick some Trinity butt for them southside girl's , keep playing rough and tough and always

    Good Luck!

  2. The only way any of those schools have booster clubs is if they were in existence before the "no club rule" was put into effect. I don't know what you are reffering to with Spring Hill. Columbia has much nicer facilities and a nicer playing surface with or without the help from Maury County. Columbia Baseball does a nice job of fundraising on their own as well. It would just be nice for the County to chip in and build the necessities like bathrooms and those things. Everything that has been done to the area up there has been done by the players, parents, and coaches and it is still one of the nicest fields in Tennessee.

Thank's for setting me straight on the club/no club rule, it's to bad that most of these reply's are saying the same thing NO $$$ and it looks like next year's season is in jeopardy because of budget cut's and shortfall's.

I don't know how the travel leagues will do this year with gasoline so costly, let alone summer High School teams?

  3. Congratulations to the Mustangs tonight. I heard Blake had a good game but not his best stuff tonight. Too many men LOB. Eleven I believe but we'll take it. What's up with LV scoring 15 runs per game the last 6 games but only could muster 1 tonight? Did Blake keep them off balance or was he that good?

    Let's win one more.....

Good Job, but this from earlier in season at their tourney..."We didn't even play our starters" (agaisn't Forrest)maybe a little to much "Pep in their Step" thinking this one was in the bag? Great to see an early round shake up! I'm sure Huntingdon didn't think it was though.(shake up) Good Luck! Single A got's to be the toughest division to size up, too many great teams who can have an off game.

  4. Cornersville beats North Green in round one of the state tourney 7-0 and advances to play @ 5:00 Wed.

Way to GO! Good luck! Proud of the Southern Marshall Co. team, well represented and may it be the start of a long string of State Tourney's for you.. Just as long as the Girl's in Rocket Blue take the Gold Ball! Kidding! Proud of both teams, I heard your score was like 17-0 though?

  5. Columbia Central has to raise all of their money as well. They get none from the County and booster clubs are not allowed in Maury County. All of the field work is done by the players and coaches.

Isn't Spring Hill High school in Maury Co? Seem's like withtout there parent's working tourney, fund raisers they'd be in same park as you? What happen The

" Good Ole Boy's" couldn't get their hands in that till? In the almost 18 years I have lived in Middle Tn, Columbia has got to be on the worst down slide of all cities here!

What about Mt. Pleasant? Culleoka? Don't they have Booster Clubs?

Out here in Chapel Hill without the Lion's Club, Diamond Club with fund raisers, parents(Thank you to Brenda Phifer for giving up her son's senior season to work the stand almost every game!)Cindy Henson for also being there each and every game setting up closing down, and Oh yeah all the food runs! Can anyone say GAS prices! Yes our parent's and coaches are out there raking, watering, FENCING, and building a real nice two story concession stand/press box, yes we do have the local bussiness backing too, no signs on our fences yet, a score board by Pepsi sponsorship for the advertisment right, in closing YOU DO what YOU got to DO.

P.S. What of our best fund raiser's was the "Buy a Brick" have it engraved with what donor wants so many lines, two sizes, made alot of $$. Right now I know that times are hard so alot of funding has dried up, next year should be a very trying year for all. Good Luck.

  6. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CHAMPIONS ON A DOMINATING DISTRICT RUN!

Cascade has had a great two year run which has resulted in only 1 district loss in two years including district tournament play. I just wanted to let the kids know how proud everyone is of this accomplishment. We are expecting big things from you guys, so don't lift your foot off the gas pedal yet. KEEP THE HAMMER DOWN!! Wasn't able to stay for the awards last night. Can someone update me on the all district selections and MVP award. I'd assume Cory Mullins or Josh Brown got the MVP. What a season those young men had. Anyway, great job guys and keep it up!!

I am probally a little late with who made the district team but had to list the Rocket's that were selected. I can proudly say..

Jacob Davis, Colin Henson, Seth Brothers and Senior Micah Phifer. ( I did not attend this either)

Has been a weird year with blowouts and squeekers so good luck, who knows what team will be hoisting that Gold Ball!

  7. Josh Bryant-Tullahoma..best pick off move. and pitches extremely well

Jacob Davis from Forrest High, hitting the ball well as lead off, plays a real good center field, heck of a first baseman back in the day sure he could still be on the bag but needed the speed in the outfield, now onto pitching, a solid lefty with a great pick off move I think he's frozen three or four in one game! That's if they even get on base , though he is struggling a little on the mound this early in season.

Other Rocket Jrs Seth Brothers, Kyle Griffy, Colin Henson all do well in their positions.

  8. I may be old fashioned and not "down wit it", but the only music I care about hearing at the ballfield is The Star Spangled Banner! Fans usually like to talk between innings and that's hard with music blasting in your ears. I say if you want music get an IPOD. But as already mentioned several times, what has this got to do with bad mouthing?

I'm with you this thread went from "Bad Mouthin" to "Bad Music" in a shorter time then it takes a 90MPH fastball to get to homeplate!

I have to agree about the language and I am one of those who get out of hand some times, I usually try sitting by some of the "good" fan's", it helps who you are with . Also keeping a score book will keep you busy. I have notice a couple new umps this year.. young ones.. Hope the TSSAA can keep em, already heard some harsh words about strike zones.

Many a thread last year was about bad ump's/fan's, does not seem to be like that so far this year or is my imagination?

And about the music in between innings it needs to be for ALL, I love the sound effect's at some parks and feel it does lower the hostility between some games , If we all can laugh together at "Who's on First?!" What's the big deal?

  9. Guess I missed a really good game Forrest came back and tied in the top of 7th, six-six, and ended up loosing in bottom half with a game winning home run, by Rockwood. Too bad for my Rockets.

You know we have been visitors in every tourney game so far...Guess we can't get the flip call right!(if they are flipping over there in LV)

  10. I know from phone calls that Forrest beat Mt Pleasant last night, and that Forrest was loosing 4-6 in the fifth won't know till end think they are playing Rockwood. Getting ready to head up for their evening game, since it's a two hour trip, and we loose an hour gotta leave in the morning to get there in the P.M. Ha! Ha! GO ROCKETS!!

  11. QUOTE(diamondgirl @ May 22 2007 - 10:21 AM) 826464521How many players are graduating from your team? How many starters do you have coming back? How do you feel about 2008 season?

Forrest returns everyone besides center fielder Kalah Mathis who is headed to CSCC.They will also get another who was injured all season but started last year as a Freshman. So they should be just as tough Next year.

  12. QUOTE(cascade11 @ May 23 2007 - 10:38 AM) 826465193After watching our baseball game yesterday, I went over and cheered for the Lady Rockets. It may be hard for YOU to believe, but there are some fans from both schools who show enough class to support the other when they have been knocked out of the post-season!

Sorry about rocketman comment(my kid) sometimes he don't know no better. He usually has a LITTLE more class then that. I don't know if any rockets were there but sorry about the loss. Thanks for going watching them lady rockets they are a great group of girls. Sounds like next year will be very spirited again with Cascade/Forrest going head to head again. Good job repesenting the region. Next year hope the cleat is on our foot!

  13. QUOTE(Treyvols99 @ May 22 2007 - 07:07 PM) 826464740Cascade lost 11-0 to LV. Good hitting ball club LV has. Cascade will start their stud tomorrow so hopefully there will be a change in the outcome that was today.

    Go Champs

WOW! Not Cascades day. Never thought that would be the outcome, did not know anything about L-Vally but they must have had a heck of a pitcher throwing at those Champs bats? Good luck in the morning.

  14. QUOTE(EMbaseball8 @ May 22 2007 - 12:33 PM) 826464587The way I look at this game today is that I know for a fact that USJ is not as Great as Mobie,Ala. The Tigers should know that they won't be facing a team of that kind of caliber!

Parents just want bragging rights on how much they make a year.

In fact, Marshall Co Senior clases over the Years have got over a Million dollars in scholarships each year and they are a Public School. So there is no difference.

How many years? Was that just M.C.H.S. or all of our High Schools in the mix?I know if Forrest did'nt have such a Great Lions Club backing we would still be in the porta potty stage! Great parent support also got the job done. I see a big difference, if you can afford the private go for it. Really up to the kids to make the grade private/public. Good luck to both teams but I say GO TIGERS!!!

  15. QUOTE(wingman10 @ May 22 2007 - 05:49 AM) 826464424I would think Corbin recruited him to pitch.

Yeah, I think he'll be there for pitching. Minor could hit the ball well, if I am not mistaken lead the Rockets in batting(or close to top)his senior year and I havent seen him swing the bat this year. Does not need to. Congrat's to Sony now he'll be able to enjoy a great senior season just don't let them grades slip! Brains and braun Love those Dores!

  16. Wow! Sounds like a heck of a game! Knew it would be, hated to miss it. Congrat's to Cascade and good luck and do 9-A proud. Now that Richland rematch looks to be posssible. Yes its too bad both teams could not go seems like they were the ones to beat. Got any stat's? from this game?

  17. QUOTE(cascade11 @ May 17 2007 - 12:38 PM) 826461165That's good to hear, but it is unfortunate that many parents and fans will have to miss the game because of the time it had to be played. More thought should of been put into scheduling graduation on the same night as the sectional tournament. It wasn't like we didn't know we were going to have a solid team two months ago and this was a possibility. Do you know of any reason why they don't have their graduation on Saturday night or Sunday afternoon? That would of made a whole lot more sense. Hopefully we will learn from this and put a little more thought into our scheduling next year.

Glad to hear of time change, but Summertown will have their whole school behind them, talk about home school advantage! You know how those in school match ups go. It will be a great game sorry I have to miss it, wanted to see these two great teams play, sound defense on both sides but I have to give batting to S-town even if Mo-Mo is on those boys can find a spot to put it in.(my son has played them a few times and only pulled out a victory on their off-off days) Good luck to you all.

You know graduations are a hard thing to play around because what if you had the rain out scenerio that came into play durning district tournys around the state? Got to be hard on those seniors, not to mention the parents, extended family, and friends comming in from out of state, this way they'll be able to enjoy both! Again good luck!

  18. Dang, the match up I wanted to see and I have prior commitments. Too bad that Cascade lost but sounded like a good game. You now got to watch out for those Super Sophmores over there in Summertown, ought to be a great game!

  19. Hope the Cascade team can do it today, it looks like the home field advantage will be good since NCS had to come from behind to get past MTCS. The game I would like to see is Cascade-Summertown, if teams keep winning will this be sub state/state matchup? Have a great game. Yes maybe even get some lights out there after this big season!
