1. QUOTE(defaultuser @ May 31 2007 - 09:24 PM) 826469936I totally agree it was an amazing game. But everybody is makin a BIG deal about what he did after the play. It really wasn't that big of a deal. I bet he wished he didn't do it but he was angry and instead of cussing the dude out he gave a gesture to him. Who cares stuff like this happens all the time and nobody makes a big deal about it and they are about his? He did it, he got punished END OF STORY

QUOTE(informed @ Jun 3 2007 - 08:15 PM) 826470959Just out of curiosity, how many copies of the game would Farragut and Bearden fans want to purchase?

I'm glad someone agress with me! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> I don't go to either scool and I know alot of people that one one from my school.

  2. QUOTE(live2succeed @ May 26 2007 - 07:11 PM) 826467746Haven't seen many of these teams play this year but the winning goal by the kid from farragut (don't know his name) this afternoon in the state finals was pretty sick. Outside of the foot that bent around the wall and into the top 90.

Yes, a beautiful shot at a cluch time. It was beautifully struck and it was a game winner for the state finals against their rivals. Yes i agree with alot of you guys, there were some amazing goals this season

  3. I just want to thank everyone here for their kind words about my school. You guys are such great kids and are only playing to have fun and beacause you love the game, not to critize players. You guys are so nice and are awesome to congradulate us on a win. As players you guys know how much it means to be encouraged by each other. Thank you. You guys are great. Good luck

  4. QUOTE(ihavenofriendzz @ May 31 2007 - 07:16 PM) 826469865I think it was more of what happened afterwards and that me and some others said there was no foul, but the video that someone did put up is only of the foul. I have been saying to put the goals up since someone mentioned they had the video. If I had a copy of it I would put it up in a heartbeat.

Yes i agree with you I was at the game and I want to see the goals again. About the foul.....I applaud Backstroms effort to run the guy down and try to get the ball. That is what made that game so special is that no one ever gave up on anything ball or any play. But saying that it is still not right what he did after the play and I know he is very sorry. I just can't get over that game it was just so amazing how hard the players played and how bad they wanted it. To every player on both teams I tip my hat to you and to your efforts. Great game, crazy out come. I very much enjoyed it.

  5. I think you have to consider CAK, they only let up one goal in states. The most goals they gave up in a game was i think 2 or 3 (not counting the pk shoot-out against Catholic). They only gave up like 17 goals in the season (correct me if I am wrong but I know it was somewhere in the teens). Just my opinion.

  6. QUOTE(The Tron Special @ May 27 2007 - 09:48 PM) 826468262Ok im gonna try to put an end to this. Im Ben Backstrom and first off i want to say that i got caught up in the moment and i let my emotions get the best of me and im sorry for what i did. The bearden player stole the ball from me so i chased him down and when i caught up to him and poked the ball away he decided to take a huge dive. The ref called a foul and this really frustrated me for some reason. So i called the bearden player a woman (in different terms) and made a womans body part with my hands (i know very inappropriate). I immediately regretted my actions especially when i received a double yellow for "taunting" and had to leave the game with about 6 minutes left. Luckily my teammates came through for me and finished off the game. Pseudo im not even going to say anything about you or ur family and i knew all u needed was one thing to again start hatin on me. But we won state so its all good in da hood. I hope this clears up this sticky situation. And i will end this with one of my favorite quotes "Dont hate the player, hate the game"

    -Ben Tron Backstrom

Thanks Ben that took alot of courage and class to apoligize to everyone.

Ben is a great player and a nice kid really he just let his emotions get the best of him. (It happens to all of us). He is probably one of my favorite players to watch in hs soccer. He will be missed by soccer fans and players everywhere. Good luck in college. hope for the best. Good game farragut and bearden

  7. I was at that game and yes the parents did say some bad things during the game to the ref and players. But they were also very supporting to their players, and clapped when a Baylor player got up from being down. They even said congradulations and good game to the Baylor parents and fans. Yes I agree some of the things that the parents said were inapropriate(sorry for spelling).

  8. QUOTE(warstiner @ May 24 2007 - 02:14 PM) 826466123No

CCS vs CAK will not be the best game in the tournament. CCS vs Notre Dame for the final will be. I am not saying that CCS will trounce CAK but they should win by 1-0 or 2-1.

    1. CAK barely sealed thier win aganist CPA last night.

    2. CAK is not as match fit as CCS. CCS can go the distance 110 min is no problem

    3. CCS has the best game coach a team want.

    4. CPA nor CAK played to the level of competition that CCS has faced during the tournament thus far.

    5. CCS has a deep bench and that comes in very handy when playing three games in 5 days.

    6. The goal keeper of CCS has the advantage in pk's and controling his box

    7. 2 of CPA's most potent scoring threats are hobbled by injuries.

    8. CAK didnt play like a chapiomship team last night. I didnt see any heart from the players and the fans are to assuming of a W as well.

    9. CCS plays with the passion and heart that it takes to get to the finals.

You cant live in the past and believe that you are going to take home the trophy just because of history. CCS is playing for tomarrow and the next game and the next season as well.

how hasn't CAK played the level of competition, they have played Catholic. O ya and they also played Bearden, Farragut, Webb, two top teams from Georgia. Coach G has had 4 championships in 4 seasons. I don't think any of that stuff is true because CAK can play 110 min. and thay have 2 all state gk. HMMMM maybe you should consider everything before you write it. Just a thought.

  9. this is a hard one. I'll have to go with Farragut 1-0. Backstrom and Russell are just to good for Bearden's defense. Don't get me wrong, Bearden's defense is very strong especially with Walker back there, but he got hurt last night and hopefully he will be healed by Saturday. But, Ruiz and Radcliff have the potiental to shut down Farrragut's mid-field and control the game. If they do this I think they will win 2-0 with Radcliff and Schoenfield getting a goal. This game should be very physical and I think Bearden will have 3 yellows and Farragut will have 2. If the starters and players can't play smart and get a red that could loose the game for them. Good luck both teams.

  10. I think CAK's style of play and possession combined with the heat will run HF out of gas early in the second half. CAK's defense has been very strong and I don't think HF will get a goal. Tarr has played the best he has all season and I think he will get a hat trick. CAK is playing the best they have all season. CAK 4-0 another goal by someone else, maybe either Pifer, Ragland, Liedle, Holt, or Propes. Just my thought no offense to HF, you're a great team and played good last night and have had a great season. Good luck to both teams. Should be a great game

  11. QUOTE(BigG @ May 22 2007 - 08:52 PM) 826464879Green grass, but tufts of something besides bermuda throughout the boxes. It really depends on what field you are playing on. We looked at field 5 (which we are going to play on) and it is ok, but not great (like last year).

Thanks Big G I'll try to see you up there.

  12. QUOTE(ktownman @ May 20 2007 - 09:10 PM) 826463789backstroms goal against in farragut bearden game 1 was very impressive

I definitaly agree with you. That was crazy! I also thought that Doug Lidal's goal against Elizabethton was very nice.

  13. The field was very narrow and bouncy. Because of that i don't think either team did a very good job of possesing. But this game was very intense. I don't think th scre really reflects the how the game really was(I thought it was alot closer). Doug had a beautiful shot that was about 27 yards out. Elizabethton has improved greatly from last year. They had a goal called back and an unfortuanate pk miss that hit the cross bar. Brandon Tarr had a nice header off Chesney's throw-in. Then Tarr dribbled by about 2 defenders and put it in. Nice game Tarr. Holt had a free kick hit the cross bar. One more thing, the players, fans and parents from Elizabethton were very nice and respectful. Good game to both teams and i think you guys played very hard. Good luck to CAK in states hope you guys do well.

  14. I don't know about this one, it could go either way. Last night CAK was very patient and did a good job moving off the ball and possesing, and getting everyone involved. I think Tarr or Pifer will get a goal for CAK. I think Neiri or Martinez will get a goal for Catholic. Catholic's field is certainly a disadvantage to CAK's style of play (In that I mean that CAK uses the whole width of the field). Both teams have very strong goal keepers, defenses, midfield, and fowards. But CAK's defense is stronger than Catholic's. I think that it could go into pks or will be very close, but I feel that CAK will be more fired up and hungrier for every ball, will want the ball more inside the 18's, and will leave everything on the field. But Catholic's dead ball plays are very good and have plenty of size for targets on corners and direct kicks. But in the end I feel that CAK will pull it out 2-0 or 2-1.

  15. QUOTE(mania22 @ May 16 2007 - 04:26 PM) 826460469SEVILLE 2

    RCD Espanyol 2

SEville 3 to 1 in pk shootout

i know this doesnt go with TN high school Soccer but just wondering who else caught that match today? great match, full of lots of excitement...any soccer lover would have enjoyed this one..

I didn't get to see this one. Do you know when it will be re-played

  16. QUOTE(BigG @ May 16 2007 - 05:57 PM) 826460520Big G, no...

Little G, only when he is playing against Coach Logan's team.

I'm sorry I didn't mean Big G only the little ones. Sorry if I offended anyone.

  17. QUOTE(BigG @ May 16 2007 - 05:21 PM) 826460502Remind me again how that went for you this summer? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> And don't be thinking of getting some ringers when we head to Brazil this summer... I'm checking your bags! Kindergarten three peat here we come! (and don't start that junk about the director's wife changing the teams!) It is destiny when Little "G" takes the field. No one can pick clovers in front of the goal like my boy! If you were smart, you would actually get him on your team this year!

That is what made this game bitter/sweet... I hold both coaches on such high esteem. They are good friends of mine. Top notch class act the whole way through.

Ya everone knows that when a G takes the field it is destiny and that they are unstoppable. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
