1. I had thought that Coach Ashe was still going to coach at West even though he was going to be an administrator at H.V.

I heard rumors about O.J. retiring, too, but don't know if there is anything more to that than rumors.

I don't think Knox County Schools allow their administrators to coach. I think one of the local club coaches will get the West position. I have not heard anything about O.J. leaving

  2. The pairing worked out for the best with Brentwood and Houston on oppsite sides of the bracket. They have been the two best teams in the state all year and should meet in the finals and not in the earlier rounds.

    Go Houston!

  3. I have never seen him play but it is obvious from everything I have read on here....he must be a very special player. Sounds like alot of time and thought was put into this as well. Good luck to him and CAK.

    He aint to bad for a 20 year old! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  4. I heard Cody McCoy and Brandon Tarr were the only ones from Tennessee. Also, Alexander Darsinos, but he's in Greece.

I think he is referring to the local newspaper in Knoxville, The Knoxville News Sentinel, which has the Prep Extra Team for Soccer.

  5. Regionals website is down.

What's happening? How are the TN teams doing?

TNFC 90 vs. Knoxville FC 90 in the Quaeter finals

Force 89 and Real Madrid 90 on the girls sidev also will advance.

The website is up and running now.

  6. QUOTE(BigDog7 @ Jun 14 2007 - 08:50 AM) 826474917I won't try to judge intent. Keeper comes six or seven yards outside the box to clear a ball in traffic. Ball deflects wide, not long, and the keeper goes to the ground. Keeper is getting to his feet to get back in goal when KFC player runs by and gives him a forearm under the chin as he is getting to his feet. The keeper goes down and is taken to the hospital. The good news is he only had a slight concussion and is okay.

The keeper was six or seven yards from the half line and in the center of the field, and after fighting for the ball turned back toward his goal( I assume to get back in goal) and ran into the the arm of another player ( yes, from KFC) who was heading for the ball that the keeper had just left. It may have looked to you like he hit him under the chin intentionally , but in the motion of running people do pump there arms and that is what I saw. I just thought that he may have aggravated an injury that he sustained during the Ultra Lions game from the day before when he landed on his neck after being upended by one of his own players.

The AR had called KFC offsides already and the play would have stopped, but the center Ref could not look up because of all the activity around the ball.

We did hear from the trainer after the game that he was okay and we are all thankful that he did not sustain a more serious injury.

  7. QUOTE(ihavenofriendzz @ May 31 2007 - 05:46 PM) 826469768The '04 Bearden team didn't beat Farragut at all. They didn't even get to the region final. Seldon was right. The '03 Farragut team beat Bearden 3 times, 3-1 in reg. season, 5-4 in dist. champ., and 3-1 in the state finals.

You can look back on the schedules for Farragut or Bearden here on coacht.

Seldon said 03 not 04 Bearden team

  8. QUOTE(Seldon @ May 31 2007 - 03:24 PM) 826469698Bearden 02 was very good; Bearden 03 was beaten 3 times by Farragut, including 3-1 in the State finals.

Seldon- You almost got it right. The 03 Bearden team beat Farragut 3 times and lost the fourth one in the Championship game in OT, and yes the score was 3-1
