1. Bigfly - I have some coaching buddies doing some head scratching....

I wonder if we can get some more folks to chime in on this topic????

Looks like it would be a violation. TSSAA is the worst. They are suppose to be doing things good for teh kids but it always seems like they are doing more harm to get a little cash more than anything.

  2. QUOTE(5743 @ May 23 2007 - 06:51 PM) 826465552Well only 1 SD run was earned and I think Smyrna had 3 errors. From what I understand SD scored 2 runs on a failed suicide squueze when Smyrna threw the ball away during a rundown. The runner on 3rd (Brentz) scored and the runner on 1st (Kirkland) came all the way around. Also from what I understand the Smyra infield handled the baseball as if it were a live grenade.

SONNY had 6 K's in 5 innings and gave up 8 hits while Holland had 10 in 7 & 5 BB 6 hits allowed.

So SD pitched and fielded better end of story.

Unless SD collapses tommorrow they will play friday night vs. survivor of elimination game now in progress.

Only ONE run SD scored was earned. Smyrna's defence made to many mistakes.

  3. QUOTE(justafanman22 @ May 22 2007 - 11:12 AM) 826464543Out of pure specualtion, I would say Delmonico would have to have offered him a scholarship because he is at worst Top 50 in the Nation. Then again, he committed early so he may not have had the opportunity to do so.

Scholarships were offered by all of these schools mentioned.

  4. QUOTE(7inningparadise @ May 18 2007 - 04:15 PM) 826462098gray is simply the best thing going, how many K's did he have and how many hits did Overton have?

Gray only had 8 k's . Pitched very well. Seemed to be throwing to contact on only 3 days of rest.

  5. QUOTE(7inningparadise @ May 18 2007 - 09:47 AM) 826461864and another thing , you may have seen good pitching, but I will promise you , you have never seen anyone close to as good as Gray this year, this kid is a phonoem, sitting 93-95, you haven't seen that

Gray has not thrown on 3 days rest all year though. No one knows how he will perform on only 3 days. Johnson has thrown on 3 days this year. Johnson will be tough.

  6. QUOTE(Live4FridayNite615 @ May 14 2007 - 11:50 PM) 826459292Actually is was #9 Rusty Edwards that came in the ninth to start it off and got the save... Smyrna had just got the lead in the top of the ninth... I'm going out on a limb saying this but this is one of the best if not the best high school pitching duels I have ever seen.. Both players were LIGHTS OUT... Harper went into the 7th throwing a NO NO finally broken up by Sonny Gray he also had 18 K's.. Harper is a great pitcher and it stinks for him to have to go out like this but it was a **** of a game..

    who had 18 k's? harper?

  7. QUOTE(thevet10 @ May 13 2007 - 09:56 PM) 826458689smyrna isn't everything...there were more than just smyrna players on the all district team lol

  9. QUOTE(thevet10 @ May 11 2007 - 05:42 PM) 826457498Do u know any more of the all district selections???

    Everyone's coach should know.

    MVP- Gray

    Right Handed Pitcher- Frey

    Left Handed Pitcher- Frensley

Everyones coaches know the player's selected to all district.

  10. QUOTE(LHSa08 @ Apr 24 2007 - 10:05 PM) 826444593yes it is very crazy...no one can tell who will come out on top in the district

There is alot of great games. I think Lavergne will come out on top come tournment time.

  11. QUOTE(2priceless @ Apr 24 2007 - 09:51 PM) 826444558From the DNJ:

Oakland (33-1, 11-1) beat host Warren County 14-3. MTSU signee Tyler Burnett (7-1) was the winning pitcher. Memphis signee Marcus Barnes was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, four RBIs and a stolen base. He homered for the 11th time this season, two shy of the school record set by Jeremy Slayden, now in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, in 2001.

    Congrats

  12. QUOTE(TDCman @ Apr 24 2007 - 09:58 PM) 826444576It's been a while since Riverdale has had more than a couple of the big guys make Chief for total weight. There have been 4-5 of the backs make the lb for lb most years.

Who is Chris Murphy? Don't recognize that name either.

Sounds like there are several new faces to watch during the spring.

Riverdale always has a very strong team. Should be in the running for a state title as usual.

  13. QUOTE(Big Country @ Apr 24 2007 - 08:18 PM) 826444413What the heck in the difference between a 4-2-5 & a 4-4????? Yes the outside linebackers are going to be considered as "Rovers" in the 4-2-5 scheme because they will be able to play like OLBs and also be able to cover slot receivers like DBs but scheme wise what is the difference???????

    haha i dont know!!

  14. QUOTE(Lost Old Dad @ Apr 19 2007 - 09:36 PM) 826441467Biggest question from me is did Sonny draw gear? /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

    i dont believe so.

  15. QUOTE(Live4FridayNite615 @ Apr 24 2007 - 07:48 PM) 826444384Switch the top spot Smyrna is ahead of Beech! both have a loss but Smyrna beat Beech the first game and they play tom. and we will see more then

No. Beech has a better record than Smyrna right now.
