The Jellico at Carter game for tonight has been rescheduled for Thursday(1-14-10).

Joe Meady from Carter (Knoxville) has offers from Tennessee Tech, Murray State, & MTSU. He has several other mid-majors keeping an eye on him.

I can not remember if the first girls game starts at 2:00 or 2:30, which would effect the start time for the boys. This is the boys schedule.

Don't forget Jerry Nichols from Memphis Westwood/Walters State. He was a first team JC All-American and made the All tournament team in the national tournament last season. He is averaging around 10 points per game this season at Arkansas State.

Grace Chrisitian School has been around for several years, but this is just the first year that they're eligible for being a part of TSSAA. The school is run by a church named Grace Christian, so it be kinda dumb to change the name.

Year in year out Washburn is not as talented as other teams, but they do play hard and have a very good young coach in Aaron Clay. Plus I believe the last time Washburn and Cosby played Washburn WON. They may have played since the 2001-2002 season, but I do not think so. Now year in and year out Cosby is a MUCH better team, but that is the reason we play the games.

Jeremy and Andre do a GREAT job of covering high school basketball. One does not realize this until you try to find detailed rankings(for FREE) of other states. Are you going to agree with all of the rankings? No, but hey we have two men who spend most of their summer and winter watching high school basketball players.

Coach Scott took a job as an assistant at Bell County High School in KY or the it would have been his.

Athletic program is adequate and financially stable. The baseball team has won district and regional championships the last few years. The pay is Grainger County School System. I think our record was 16-15 last year with a third place district tournament finish. They will return six seniors that have played a lot of varsity since there sophomore year. Washburn is a great place to teach with small classes and nice faculty.
