  1. In Div II

Briacrest beat ECS 2-1 in Golden Goal.

    In the Semi's

An underrated St. Benedict team beat MUS 1-0. St. Benedict scored with a little over 6 minutes to go in the game. Very even game.

CBHS beat Briacrest in the other Semi 4-0. A very dominating performance by CBHS. Best CBHS has played all year.

CBHS and St. Benedict play for the Championship tomorrow night and Briarcrest and MUS play for the 3rd substate spot.

CBHS and St. Benedict should be a good game. St. Benedict has enough firepower to beat CBHS but if CBHS playes as well as they did against Briarcrest they will win. Last time they played CBHS won the game 4-3.

  2. The game was CBHS vs. Tulsa Union

CBHS scored early and Tulsa Union scored very late to tie. Went in to PK's down to the eigth kicker. Not the result the Brothers wanted. Tulsa Union is a fine team and ranked nationally.

.....just a few that come to mind

A few more from CBHS besides Acosta that did not get much pub this year ...LBs Jonathan Brown, Taylor Valadie Corner Chris Bunkley and Daniel Brown Jonathan Brown is absolute stud...he is going to be a big time D1 prospect in my opinion.

  4. Going to Melrose actually makes more sense then anything else. Comming out of middle school, Eric was going to go to Melrose ... he had been working out and practicing with them in the summer before his freshman season. Suddenly before the season started he attends CBHS and starts as a freshman. The next year he enrolls at Olive Branch but doesn't complete the season only to (rumor) enroll at Melrose; where it all began in the first place.

Concerning transferring from school to school and still maintaining playing eligibility:

Eric may be going from school to school ... but why would TSSAA want to stop him from playing? CBHS, Eric's freshman school, is a Tennessee private school. Olive Branch, his 2nd school is a Mississippi public school. Melrose ... his 3rd destination, is a Tennessee public school. Even if Eric where to have transferred from CBHS directly to Melrose ... he would have been going from private to public ... either way ... it ia all acceptable under TSSAA rules and regulations as I understand them. If I am wrong, someone please educate me. There is nothing for TSSAA to do in this matter. NOW ... If he were transferring from public to public or from private to private between Tennessee schools ... then I think he would have to sit out a season. Someone with a better understanding may be able to give a more accurate and researched answer on this subject then I because I may be in error ... I am not an expert in transfers ... but I think I am correct.

He spent 2 years at CBHS. He was in the same class with my son. He came to CBHS because his fathered sued the Memphis City School System. As an 8th grader during a game...Eric was running down the sidelines for a TD and an opposing coach sent a player from the sideline during the run to tackle him and it broke his leg. The Watson's sued because no sanctions were brought upon the opposing coach. This is a fact and was well publicized in the Memphis Paper.

  5. On paper, Dr.J, I would have to agree. However, I don't have to look back but to 2007 to see a Baylor team of "no names", as was reported, scrap together and end up beating a loaded CBHS team for the championship. That same CBHS team graduated 11 Seniors and 9 starters, causing some to question their capability in 2008. I think they showed well this year.

Houston does graduate some very talented Seniors, but they will return a very capable Senior goalie in Will Powell and some good athletes looking for their chance. It should be interesting.

Will is a very capable goalie and can keep you in games...but I still think they will have trouble if they are able to move on to Murfreesboro. Collierville should be the best team in the Div. coming out of Memphis and White Station has some very good young talent.

CBHS should have a great team. JPII will be very good. Anytime you have a player such as Jonah you are dangerous...so Father Ryan will be in the mix....

    But good try...Cary..LOL

  9. Brentwood loses 12 seniors and Houston loses 13...Houston looks to be rebuilding next year but with Wolff as coach you can bet that by the playoffs that team will be ready to play no matter what happens during the reg season.

The 90 age group was the best in a long time here in the state of Tennessee and its sad to see them all leave but as they do i look to see the regulars return... final 8 next year

Brentwood, Hendersonville, Houston, Collierville, Farragut, Bearden, and two others...i dunno who but those will be the big guns...as always

I would be surprised if Houston returns next year....they lose so much....

  10. QUOTE((.)(.) @ Apr 25 2007 - 09:37 AM) 826444920[/snapback]mjubh Farragut won 11-0 not 11-1. Thanks

Farragut is not 11-0....they have a loss to CBHS in the Palmetto Cup....They lost in a close game but none the less it was a loss.
