You my good friend are a huge booty kisser. Lol Lets be real here. G runs mid TN soccer so it’s no surprise some things are the way they are. No other person could show up to the sports awards show in a suit with a visor and purple sneakers and pull it off. Heck, CPA even runs the DII sports twitter page which is nice for some schools but definitely favors CPA  when getting information out there and downright ignores other things/schools and state record setting players.

Since you mentioned the awards I’ll openly say that Kendra Mueller of Beech was the most dominant player on the field/pitch in middle TN and the fact she wasn’t listed as a finalist for POY is mind blowing. She carried her team to a state championship running by, through, and over everyone while playing like a possessed woman. I’ve never seen a bigger snub. The Williamson county love affair is alive and well.

CPA does have a great future with essentially 11 ECNL caliber players they can put on the field. No other team in D2 A/AA can do that. I heard Wegner the GK may not play though and losing an all state caliber (even though she didn’t make the team for some weird reason) will be a tough loss.

I look forward to seeing how the HS season plays out as a fan and not a parent. Now I don’t have to see the tens of hard fouls each game, cheap plays that injured players, coaches screaming to foul players in Spanish, unsportsmanlike ice showers on opponents fields, whining about state championship ball boys/girls, and political BS in favor of fishing of watching college soccer. Just keeping it real.

    1.  So, let me guess.... another passive aggressive post on a coach for not posting information on a certain daughter.

    2.  So, are you saying the girl that SIGNED WITH CLEMSON doesn't deserve the award?

Ill miss these types of exchanges where one of you guys makes these foot in mouth comments then doesnt show back up to own up to it. You guys have been alot of fun over the years.

In all seriousness best of luck to all you guys, Booger, coach G, canes, Mountainvol, and the rest of you. Ive had alot of fun trading barbs and discussing a variety of subjects.

Name-dropping is the practice of naming or alluding to important people and institutions within a conversation, story, song, online identity, or other communication. The term often connotes an attempt to impress others; it is usually regarded negatively, and under certain circumstances may constitute a breach of professional ethics. When used as part of a logical argument it can be an example of the false authority fallacy.

Why wouldnt I? His daughter is playing with mine. Do you know the parents of kids on your childs team? May see him in Indianapolis today and likely have dinner with him and other parents. But, since youre likely a Webb guy you know that I know him. Lol

Exactly.  Why wouldn't you.  You know everyone in the soccer community.

    GO SPARTANS!

    G,

My reference was to the club coach.  Obviously, I was not clear enough for Elmer to understand.  He did show us the thickness (or not) of his skin with his erroneous assumptions.

Remember to tell your kids, drugs are bad!!!

Elmer, you haven't been sniffing your glue again, have you?

    My sincerest of apologies.

Misinterpreted your post "pronouns" and wasn't sure of the "he" you were referring too.

Gotta stop sniffing that glue,  guess.

Sounds like CPA took control early in the second half and ran the clock out.  My daughter's club coach always said give him a 1 goal lead in the second half and he will make the clock spin like a top.  They would boot the ball out, walk slowly on every throw in, and have the keeper wait the full time before kicking it.  That's how he won state in 2016.  He got the 1 goal lead right after half and shut down the rest of the game.

Ha ha.  Wow.  Obviously you were there and saw the incredible “top spinning” (sarcasm font needed).

    So what did he do in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2015?

Note: if you are going to talk smack about someone, at least get your dates right.

got a yellow card yesterday not for what he said , but running and kicking a ball behind his bench about  40 yards. Ten minutes later he sprinted down the sideline screaming and yelling then threw something as hard as he could towards an area behind his bench. It was surreal.

Two questions. First, if he recieved another yellow, then red, what is the TSSAA penalty for that and 2) since I've never quite seen a HS coach lose it like that is this common for that coach or other coaches?

With all of the coaches you know, you have never seen one pitch a fit?

    And no... Webb didn't lose.

Plenty of very good players have passed through that system EVERY year. You just dissed all of them. I don't agree with the idea that a new coach "simply needs to get 'his' kids into the system." Turning a program around has a lot more nuance than just that. It's way too easy to say the new coach "just got better players." There are a host of issues at any school that is struggling on the win/loss column: institutional commitment is certainly among them. Funding. Scholarships. Facilities. Recruiting. Coaching.

I agree with Elmer above on at least one thing: it's impressive to see these girls last all four years. Look at any college roster and look at how many upperclassmen are there. MANY programs are loaded with freshmen and sophomores. Why don't they "make" it?

Carson Newman has a new coach this past season, and made it to the NCAA championship match without "his players".

Like in the movie miracle, it isn't the "best players" that make the best teams.  It is the RIGHT players.

  8. What I want to know is how many of these signees actually play all 4 years (or even more than one season) at these schools.

Too many players, sadly, either stop playing or transfer even after one semester.

What would impress me is NOT when clubs post all of the Division 1 schools that there players are attending... what would impress me is to see these girls play all four years for a program.

We put way too much emphasis on division and too little emphasis on the RIGHT program.

Lol!!! I have sources that alledge you gave him the book on defending the wildcats and he added the 15 hard fouls as a good measure.  Now, let me be clear that I am not saying you were ignoring your allegiance to your Middle Region friend and fellow coach, Matt Smith. I am just relaying what my confidential source told me. :)

BTW I thought flattery is the highest form of flattery oh great coach G? :)

Best of luck! We are going to try and make it Friday for the championship!!!!

Well, of COURSE you have an inside source...

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know to man mark a forward that scores goals.

And the man worked here for 16 years, and even taught some of the girls who are on the team.  Do you not think they would reach out to him?

Wouldn't be surprised if he sent Coach Smith some insights, as well...  for allegiance sake.

  10. IT'S NOT FAIR!  THE PRIVATE SCHOOLS NEED TO GO!

    Oh...

    Wait...

    Catholic:  beaten by Alcoa

    Grace:  beaten by Page

    ND: beaten by MCM

    CCS:  beaten by Merrol Hyde

CAK goes into overtime with Carter.

CPA goes into double overtime with Fairview.

  11. Thank you for the kind words. Tonight was a big night for the Tornadoes:

    Alcoa 3 Catholic 1

    Good luck to everyone!

    :motorbike:

Stinkin' public schools beating up on those poor privates.

KICK THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS OUT!!!! THIS ISN'T FAIR!

    :popcorneater:

In all seriousness, nice win, Alcoa dad!  You all have worked hard on getting where you are.  Never complained.

  12. Not too many open zone systems.  MNPS is, but most of their teams are AAA anyway.   And their zones aren't open to other counties and states either.

So Greeneville and Alcoa (Greeneville is Back to Back state champs) don't count? What about magnet schools?

Isn't Hume Fogg a magnet school that can get kids from other school zones? Aren't they doing pretty well, too?

And yes, their zones are open to other counties. That's why they are called "OPEN ZONED". I know several kids who are zoned for Farragut who attend Oak Ridge.

Explain to me the difference between an open zoned public school which charges an out of zone fee (that can also waive said fee) and a private school?

So Page high school can have a top team in the state, even with private schools, but everyone else can't?

I understand your happiness, but it won't solve your problem.

  13. I am sure I will stir the pot here....

What will you do with open zoned public schools once we are gone?

Yeah, you know the ones that charge an "out of zone fee" (tuition) but it can be "waived" (scholarship)?

    Here in Knoxville:

    Oak Ridge

    Alcoa

    Maryville

    Greeneville
