  1. Are you serious? It was a conversation that Coach G gave an opinion based on his experience and behind the scenes knowledge. Saying he's a company man wasn't patronizing at all because that's exactly what he was doing. I have great respect for Coach G and have said it many times on here. My history of doing so is well documented. I seriously doubt CoachG took my playful jab as being disrespectful. If he did I'd like to think he'd call me as I'm not hard to reach. There are 20 people at CPA that could give him my number.

Your hypersensitivity to what you perceive as being disrespectful is your issue not mine. I think G is a great guy based on my limited interaction around him and what my realtive and good friends say about him.

By the way I do know several folks in the college and HS ranks because of soccer. Sorry that upsets you that I discuss it on this forum. That's what we do here right?

Have you ever thought that the fact that he HASN'T responded to you that you might have pissed him off?

    "Playful jab"?

Anyone at CPA who questions why others view their enrollment with skepticism act as if they are above reproach.

Wow.  Glad that DCA does everything right.

  2. What do you think Elmer, shaky numbers or just a huge coincidence?

I think the whole thing is stupid.  Forcing private schools out.  Just look at recent events.  More publics are winning.  Greeneville soccer got National coach of the year (don't know any private school coach that got that).  Greeneville has won back to back titles.  Page is rocking it (close to being #1 in A/AA).  Football, the private "powerhouses" didn't even make it to the finals.  The public schools are coming into their own.

Then you have a split, and the smaller D2 schools are crying about unfair numbers or splits.  JUST PLAY THE BEST WHERE YOU ARE.  Quit whining and work.  Page did it.  Greeneville did it.  White House is doing it.

Who knows if the numbers are legit.  The whole process seems idiotic.  Going by ONE year enrollment to base your next three years?  Take an average of the past 3 years, at least.

  3. So you dont find it strangely odd both you guys and Webb ended up with the same enrollment number which just happens to be a razors edge below the cutoff? Lol

I'm a fan of CPA because of my many friends with kids there and my relative being a HC for CPA. However, even those friends chuckle at your enrollment number.

"PRIVATE SCHOOLS CHEAT!!! KICK THEM OUT OF D1!!!"

"PRIVATE SCHOOLS FUDGE THEIR NUMBERS, KICK THEM UP TO THE BIGGER DIVISION!"

"IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL, YOU COULDN'T DO IT HONESTLY!"

What I DO find "strangely odd" is that schools like Greeneville and Page have figured out how to do it  and do it right, without any whining or complaining.  The year that private schools get "kicked out" COULD actually have a public school win both the girls AND the guys soccer championship.  It's because these schools didn't whine or complain, but went out and put the work in.

  4. Station Camp has an exceptional sophomore class. Ensworth finished State Runner-up and had a young team. I have never seen the year that Franklin didn't have extremely talented young players. However, the fact that these players made the coaches all-state team only proves one thing- that their coaches were members of NSCAA. We really need to find a better way to select all-state. I fear that the creditability of the honor will soon become too diluted and too biased to be of any relevance.

Please inform us of your idea on how to make the all state selection a more credible process...

  5. I respect your comments and agree with some of it. As far as beefing up the schedule we are so limited because of having 12 teams in the district.  Non-districts games were,  Oak Ridge (ranked), Knoxville Webb (ranked), Alcoa (ranked), Seymour, Scott Co, Oliver Springs.

Pre-season schedule was, Stone Memorial, Jefferson County, and Rhea County Play Day.

These teams below are teams that we contacted or contacted us for pre-season or season play but could not fit in schedule.  Hardin Valley, Bearden, Sequoyah, Walker Valley,  Boyd Buchanan,  Silverdale.  We tried to fit in schedule but could not agree on date due to conflicts with other games.  Obviously HV and Bearden are elite class AAA teams and we would have loved to fit 1 of them in.  Don't know anything about the other 4.

I agree,  we will not win no matter how hard we try to justify our scores.  That's the nature of the beast I just hardly never here it with football scores like 70-0 this weekend across the state three times. But.....yes it is entertaining for the readers and bloggers.....lol.

Thanks for the good luck wishes.  :thumb:

I'm sorry, but where do you see that Oak Ridge and Alcoa are ranked? Alcoa lost to CAK, Catholic, Grace, and tied the other "ranked" Oak Ridge team 0-0. And Webb lost to Oak a Ridge 0-4.

I will say oak ridge has a tough schedule, at least.

I'm trying to see it from your perspective, but that's a tough sell.

If you are going on the coach t ranking, that is a computer based program and quite innacurate.

While the Eurosportsdoreboard isn't perfect, it is at least voted on by coaches around the state.

Are you all going D2 next year? That could make your scheduling easier as there will be fewer district games.

Who is your next match against?

  6. Beef up your schedule and this all goes away. You won't have to worry about limitations. Your stud can play the whole game. You won't have scores in the middle to high double digits. No one will give you any crap.

But no matter what limits you have, or how few players you have on the field, if you keep posting 16-0 scores, you will get grief.

You have EIGHT games in double digits. Greeneville, at least, has the excuse of being far away from elite teams, yet they don't hesitate to take on anyone. You are in Knoxville SURROUNDED by talented squads, yet I don't know if you play a ranked team from that area.

If you haven't learned by now, the harder you try to justify the scores the more crap you will get on these boards. But at least it is entertaining (sorry, probably not for you, but the boards have been kind of flat).

From what I have heard, you have a talented team (which has been building over the past few years). I look forward to seeing how you all will do in the post season. I think it could be interesting.

    Either way, good luck!

  7. Elite programs will never have girls with scoring titles.  Strength of the opponents being a key factor.

Why isn't Karlie Paschall blowing up the scoring titles?  She is one of the best players in the state...

It's because Ravenwood plays the top teams (and their district is brutal).  Having a player score 1 or 2 goals against teams like Independence or Farragut or Houston is a whole lot better than scoring 6 against a rural district team.

The true test is how this young lady does against a team like Greeneville, CCS, Farragut, or Bearden.  But Grace doesn't play those teams, so it is hard to judge.

Post season will show a lot if they make it to the state tournament (of which, I feel they have a good chance knowing the Knoxville and East TN areas).  Get by Catholic and/or CAK and you have a great chance.

  8. I find that hard to believe....

Since last off season Giles County is the seventh school to be placed on probation joining Germantown, Brainerd, Bradley Central, Cleveland, Greenback and Marshall County. Germantown, Bradley Central, Cleveland and Marshall County were all hit for probation for breaking the recruiting rule (Article II, Section 17).

    Boom.

  9. As long as TSSAA allows the recruiters to stay in DI it will be the same private schools in the A/AA tournament every year.

What I find interesting is that, as per the TSSAA, the last 8 schools who have had violations of the recruiting rules have all been public schools.

  10. Hmm? That's what you took from this after I spoke of the virtues of playing HS soccer? Do you think your team overall trains at the same level as Brandys? Do you think that playing with kids that aren't as skilled adversely affects those that are more skilled? Do you think they are pushed to play as hard or that the speed of play is just as good?

I'm really interested in your opinion because being at a program with multiple SRPL players in both the boys and girls programs you should see a variety of skill levels.

    We get it.

    High school < Club

  11. Elmer I am not a player but I will assume you are a page fan your team plays very well and will go pretty deep in the post season it is my understanding page had two injured players who did not play against central

I am not a Page fan, but I was impressed with their result over CPA.

Think further east and you might figure out where I originate from.

  12. Why would you even ask that? Just because he had a question about a game and the talk on the feed doesn't mean he's plays for them

Because he has one post, and the first post is asking why people aren't talking about MCM.   If you have been on these boards at all, this is usually what happens.

I'm guessing you play for them, as well...

  13. He who laughs last, laughs the longest.

Weird scores across the state here in the regular season.  Morristown West beating Science Hill, Maryville beating Farragut, Page beating CPA then getting beaten by Montgomery.

But as the above saying goes, what happens in the post season is what will be remembered.
