  1. Been doing a lot of thinking about this game, on paper the Cherokees should roll but like someone mentioned in a earlier post, last years game wasn't a run away. I know Coach Ryan and K Roberts personally when they were both at Seqouyah a few years ago...and I know almost everyone at Sequoyah, my main concern is I just hope there is good, hard hitting football tonight, no cheap shots, no dancing, etc. The game will be won from the sidelines tonight with good preparation and adjustments from the coaches. I love the Chiefs but, Cherokees win 35-7. Good luck to both programs tonight and the rest of the season.

  3. Coach Ryan is a great coach and will be missed, he was helping the seniors in their recruiting process, the man knows a lot of people.  The players understand (and use to it) that situations for each coach change from year to year, this is the third different offensive coordinator in 3 years, I'm guessing it will be 4 for 4 years coming up, unless Ryan can be lured back?  As far as any other changes, I don't see any other changes coming.  Stability is what Sequoyah needs, before Coach Satterfield, it was a coaching carousel around here and I'm guessing the old ball coach has still got 2 to 3 years left.

  4. Back on topic now dumdum what's Hixson look like on film?

One game at a time folks, after me and my boy watched them, I can say this, Hixson seems to play a bend but don't break defense, they keep everything in front of them and hope you do something wrong (turnover, etc...).  Their o-line is big, the right side is the strong side.  They can throw the ball, so don't fall asleep, because they will lull you asleep. Plenty of hard counts, trying to get the easy five yards.  Rugby style punter, that scares me..

On a side note, I appreciate the vote of confidence from the district 5 fans, I'm also pulling for Polk County to go the distance.

  5. Well Hixson proved us all wrong, turns out the score could have been a lot worse than the 19-0 final.  Apparently they had 3 turnovers in the red zone.  Congrats to the top 4 seeds in the quads.  Knoxville Catholic has to load the Irish Gold and travel to the top of the hill to face Signal Mountain Screaming Eagles.  Those Wahoos from Sequoyah country will hit the road headed for Hixson to take on the Tigers.  Thoughts on these games?

  6. Thanks ChattanoogaFBFan for the info.  Not going to lie, I like playing one dimensional teams, but trust me when I say we will not forget the pass, learned that lesson against Polk County.  Curious if the turnover bug has been a issue all season or just showed up in the last few weeks?  Also, from what I've heard, Hixson's o-line is pretty good size (a good reason to pound it), do they do a good job blocking?

  7. Congrats Chiefs on the win over a good Chattanooga Central team.  CC had speed and size and a really good kicker.  Something that worried me before the game was CC's team speed.  Folks the first kickoff was not a onside kick, kicker actually kicked the ground and the tee by accident, the first few Chiefs were way past the ball when it came down.  CC's defense was confusing, 5 man front with 2 outside backers, nothing in the middle for most of the night.  It was a good scheme to come in and shut down our middle run game and try to spill everything to the edge, where their team speed would come into play.  I also give credit to the Pounders, they fought til the end.  It was a physical hitting ballgame, maybe the most our QB has been hit this season.  Chiefs looked well in the first half but things seem to got sloppy in the second.  Again congrats to the Pounders on making the playoffs.  GO CHIEFS!!

  8. You just have plenty of eats for us cause I'm having visions of sausages and potatoes right now ..fried up with extra grease.

It is very good, but don't miss out on the Bar-B-Q, come hungry, all the cooked meal are located at the north end zone under the tent.  The good restrooms are located in the building on the left as you come in, sorry we only have port-a-johns on the visitors sideline. Watch out for our Indian Warrior riding around on her horse.

  9. Sorry dumdum just now able to get on here.  I don't think the boys gave up until the 3rd TD.  We had several opportunities to score and really stopped ourselves the first half.  Score could have easily been tied going into half.  #9 suffered a slight concussion and was not the same after that.  QB came out in the 4th but back up did a pretty good job.  A combination of bad things not going our way could just not be overcome.  Chatt. Central has some major speed.  We ended up with 6 or 7 turnovers which was so costly.

Yeah, friend of mine said that you guys were able to move the ball, then a turnover would happen.  Any word on a coaching change or is everyone happy with the progress of the team?
