  1. I feel like all the "underdogs" took the games....

    frankin over oakridge

    db over riverdale

    brentwood over collierville

    siegel over houston

    ?

i would have called all of those games the opposite way, except maybe siegel and houston because siegel is a very strong team and houston has a habit of losing in the quarter finals of state, although in past years it was to bearden.

  2. Would have to give the edge to the little leprechauns.....they are strong at every position whereas Bearden's depth has been in their scoring abilities. Not too sure that Amy P. can come out against the ND back line on her own. I have seen both teams first hand and while ND competes with class, the Bearden girls get a bit too nasty when faced with skill. Should be interesting none the less..... my predicition is ND by 2. The little read head up top, Cambron I think is her name should continue her scoring streak easily against the Bearden team.

I think you are underestimating bearden's defense, with all-state player tessa batchelor on the back line and the rest of the defense being very strong it will be much more difficult than "cambron EASILY continuing her scoring streak." but i guess we will never know until the game is played. Also i think you are forgetting sam turner up top for bearden, even if you have amy porter figured out bearden always has other weapons.

  3. CAK beat Bearden 1-0, though I am not sure if Bearden was playing their starters, and CAK pulled most of the first string 11 minutes in.

CAK tied Farragut 1-1, but don't know many details.

Bearden played with JV only in the CAK game. Their varsity team played Karns at 130.

  4. Bearden has a good chance of winning once again. There is a strong freshman class coming in, and the incoming sophmores are only getting stronger. They lost five seniors including all-state goal keeper sarah canter, all-state center-mid jenni gordon, and all-state outside-mid lindsay pompilio. Those three will be difficult to replace, but i'm sure coach Turner will always find a way to make it happen. It will be interesting to see what happens in 2008!

  5. No, it was Greeneville who was flat the first meeting between these 2 a few weeks ago. Last evening was more indicative of Greeneville's game. By the way, Greeneville started a Freshman goalie (her first start) and she did great.

After last years heartbreaker, Greeneville came to play and I think Bearden was just a little worried the entire game.

It was a well played, well officiated game. Bearden earned the win. Greeneville wishes them well at States

it was a great game. I'm excited to see if greeneville has 2-1 on the back of their warmup shirts next season. HAH

  6. I'm sure the Greeneville ladies would love to play Bearden again.

    Greeneville 7 Jeff County 0

  7. Notre Dame travels to Bearden tonight. It should be a good game. ND is somewhat beat up right now, so we won't have our A team (more likely A- or B+). We only have one common opponent (Maryville), and each team had comparable results (solid wins). Bearden's JV handedly Notre Dame's JV earlier this year.

Irregardless of the outcome, it should be a good warm up for both teams heading into the post-season. Good Luck ND!

gps is another common opponent. notre dame tied them 1-1 and bearden won 5-1.

  8. Maryville beating Bearden, 6-0??? Maybe in their dreams....Bearden is rock-solid and Maryville is young, semi-skilled and tends to be intimidated when playing a powerhouse. Bearden 6, Maryville 0 and it could have been worse.

Yes it was a very solid Bearden win.

  9. Agree, should get him out to the west. I mean, Houston at No. 9 for AAA behind Independance? If not for a couple of bad breaks and poor calls last year and it would have been the semifinals. Houston will matchup to the others. Time will tell. What's Brentwood have that makes them the preseason No. 1?

I don't think a couple of bad breaks and poor calls is an excuse for getting beat 4-1 by bearden in quarter finals...that is a beat down. But that was last year, we'll see how they look this year.
