  1. Warren county might not have a great win loss record at the end of the year. You people are always on top when it comes to bickering with each other about whose son should be playing QB or whatever position. If you people know who should be playing stop coaching from the bleachers and coacht and go get a degree in teaching so you can be bashed on forums from people who smile and shake your hand face to face. FYI I am a SC fan.

  2. Shocked and saddened to hear about Imallin today.  He was a good friend and a great person. I thought about leaving work in Manchester a few years ago and meeting him and BigReid at the Mexican restaurant in Winchester before the Smith Co. / Franklin Co. game. I'm definitely going to miss him.

  3. Directions to the stadium, I think - coming from Smithville, turn right at McDonalds, stay on bipass - school on the left?

Scooter, The football field is at Warren Co. Middle School. (200 Caldwell St.) Go straight through the main intersection where McD's and Applebees are at. Turn left at Little Caesars Pizza.

  4. well there are 3 mexican restaurants La Cazona in the northgate Mall and Fiesta Ranchera in the Plaza shopping center.Mings for chinese ,Its in the LOWES shopping center, thats a buffet, its pretty good Sushi and hibachi grill there. In that same shopping center will be Applebees as well as Rafeals good pizza and Italian as well as good hot wings.Billys restaurant on woodbury hwy for the Infamous Gator Burger, really good burger.there are some others but these are probly the best.If you want BBQ just keep going past Mcminnville on to Morrison youll see Praters BBQ on the right .Good Ribs pulled pork chicken and they got awesome smoked wings too

We will be in the bottom with a shrimp boil but i dont think we can feed all of SC

SmashmouthFB, If you see some folks in black and gold, going by the names of scooter, bigreid, imallin, originalsc3, antwan or termite, snooping around your shrimp boil tomorrow night, give 'em a couple pieces of shrimp. They're good people. You might even find your tip jar a little heavier!

  5. I guess someone deleted the whole Gville/SP thread.

Anyway, I don't see SP having a problem this game. They'll win convincingly without Hale having to carry them. I'd rest him a little for the championship game, if the game is in control, that is.

If Coalfield can throw, they stick around for a half, if not, well, you get the point.

Croz it was good to finally meet you Friday night. Glad everyone made it back to G-Ville safe.

  6. What a great game! Down to the wire. Both teams left it on the field. Tremendous effort by the Owls to make the necessary adjustments and battle back from a 20-7 deficit to win against a dang good football team. We started the game very sloppy and struggled at times but made the plays when it was gut check time. East Lit played their hearts out. #50 and #42 were in our backfield all night. I honestly thought they would wear down in the second half but they didn't. Great win Owls!

    :excl:

What's up 3! Great win by the Black and Gold! Glad I made the trip.

  7. I think so. I guess at this point...anything can change.

    Interesting..........

    Warren Co. / Dekalb Co.

    White Co. / Livingston Ac

    White Co. / York

    White Co. / Dekalb Co.

    Cumberland Co. / Livingston Ac

    Cumberland Co. / York

and now throw Smith Co. / White Co. in the mix.

I didn't realize how many times these two districts/regions have played each other. Even before realignment we had Warren Co. / Livingston and Smith Co. / Franklin Co.

  8. I am one of the directors of the youth program in Warren County. In the past two years only two high school coaches have attended our games on Saturday's and both of them had children who played and as soon as their games were over they left unless it was their turn to work in the concession stand. As far as the middle school goes, when he was first named coach, we tried to meet with Mr. Cotten and he dropped by for maybe five minutes saying he had to go to a car wash or something like that. We have tried to get the high school to put on a clinic for players and coaches both but have had no success in even getting them to offer any support whatsoever. The only support we ever got was from Bill Harris when he was middle school coach. You would think that somw of these people would at least show up and watch the kids who will be the future of the program.

Fishfearme, Ease up bro! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> You know in addition to the 2 high school coaches that were there, there were at least 2 if not 3 or 4 of the middle school coaches there every saturday. Did you try to talk to those guys about setting something up? Between Nitro14 and me we could probably pass the word along to the coaches that you're interested in sitting down for a meeting. You've got my home number, call me. As for the HS coaches leaving after their games I can tell you that I spoke to one of them after his son's game and he was heading out to review game film from the night before and then going on a road trip to get game film for the next weeks game.

  9. good job owls...you killed the thread lol

    /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Yep...... /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" /> .....enjoy the popcorn

  10. What I find odd is that the Head Coach at WC has more respect and admiration for the teams accomplishments outside of Warren Co. than he does inside. I've lived here for over a decade now, through 4 head coaches, and not once has the entire community stood behind either of them. I have no family in the high school or on the football team here but I enjoy watching high school football. There is talent here in WC but with all the negativity from OUTSIDE the program, the kids won't come out for the team. If the administration, parents and community want the program to be successful, stop all the negativity, stand behind the coaching staff and 100% support the team. I honestly think that 90 -95% support Coach Madewell but it's always the negativity that screams louder.

In response to the comment about running gassers after the Oakland scrimmage. That's nothing new. I played for a coach that made us do 10 trips of 100 yd up downs after a scrimmage (that we won) We went to the semi-finals that year. Did it embarass us? Yea. Did we refocus? Absolutely.

I wasn't at that scrimmage so I can't comment of whether or not it was justified but if running gassers after a scrimmage offended some people maybe football's not their calling.

For those of you on CoachT that I've met from WC, please forgive my tone in this post. It's just that all this negativity really get's old after awhile.

    GO PIONEERS! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. I will go back and watch any film they have on this..... but the coach was on the field the whole time waiting also, with us, to see what the call would be.......... but that was an interception.... the other boy never had his hand on it. my son caught that ball. the marion county fans knows it and anybody else that was watching the game.....And again i say, the coach was on the field the whole time waiting....... the debating was happening on the other side of the field... remember? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

From my vantage point it looked like both gentlemen had their hands (or arms) on the ball. I think the ball got ripped away from the SC receiver but a quick whistle gave the ball to SC. I think the decision took so long because the official kept saying 'if I run through the gate, down the practice field and hit hit creek bed, I can make it to the river before the Marion County fans can run me down. I'll never get away if I have to climb up the hill."
