I can’t remember either no one outside of the smith co boys could of possibly imagined being up 22 on Livingston at one point shoot they probably didn’t believe it could happen either Sells just had a bad night

I think Sells still had about 26 pts...I would´nt call that a bad night

There is no question that DCHS has underperformed the past couple of years. The sad part is the administration does not care. Dekalb County has never fired a coach for performance in the past 30 years. I am quoting that from conversations with administrators and the decision makers. Apparently that is a badge of honor in our county. If that is the stance leadership is going to take then what can kids or our county ever really hope for? I love the people of our community but this type of thinking holds back progress. Losing (and everything that it mentally and emotionally brings with it) has become ok in Dekalb and that is sad.

Sounds like you should be the Coach

  3. What are the predictions here?

Is Goodpasture going to dominate again?

Probably, sounds like they reloaded with a good transfer from Cookeville. Who can challenge them in the district?
  4. they dont have an assistant coach there. they have a ms coach they are high on so he might very well get the job. fact is carthage hasnt been relevant in boys bb in well over 20 years. i expect that trend to continue.

Hasn't been that long ago the boys' team played in the district finals twice. The last time losing to Melton when he was still at Livingston. Lost to White House in the Region Semi-Final game that year...believe it was '07
  5. Gordonsville was the team that got beat by them by 66 points. And Gordonsville didn't have 2 of their starters. I heard the second time Gordonsville played them, that it was a pretty good game. Maybe Gordonsville will give them a good run in district or region.

G-ville did play Goodpasture a lot closer the second time...trailed by 1 late in the 4th. Lost by about 8 I think. The Tigers get another shot at Goodpasture Tuesday night...maybe 3rd time is a charm. Good luck G-ville!!!

  6. Bees played a good game. #4 helps them a lot. G-ville didn't play well in the first half. Couldn't make a shot. I don't think the point guard (#3) for G-ville scored. That hurt too. See if they can bounce back at Clay Co.

  7. Not sure about the boys. Upperman is supposed to have one of their posts back that was hurt last season and 2-3 returning starters. Gordonsville is really really good. They really impressed me against smith, and I was surprised that they lost to Pickett (testament to how good PC is too, maybe). G-Ville definitely has the pieces to win the game, I think, but Upperman is always so good.

G-ville played a good game tonight beating Upperman at their place. Got some good play from the bench as both post players for G-ville had foul trouble. Good team win
  8. G-ville will be fairly young...2 Seniors. Played some So. & Fr. last year. Probably have to do the same this year. I think about 3 or 4 starters/players are in football. It will probably be some time after Christmas before they start playing better.

  9. Only 4 do get in. Rbs and tc will play each other and the winner gets to go to the region with fcs, h20town, and gville. The loser of the rbs and tc game goes home for good.

No doubt, FCS is the top team in the district & region. I do know one thing for sure though...FCS will play the TIGERS in the District Tournament Championship Game.

  10. Speaking of the districts how will that match up since we have 5 teams. Does #4 and #5 play to see who gets in as the #4 team?

Right now that would be TC @ Gordonsville and the winner would play FCS.......RBS vs Watertown. Then those would be the 4 seeds that would play D7A in Watertown for the Region......Is that correct?

Well...right nowWatertown and TC are the 4 and 5 seeds. They would play to see who plays FC. G-ville is 2, RBS is 3. No, the tournament is at Gordonsville...Region is at Watertown

  11. Good post Senator........I'll second that. And you are right Gordonsville will be more ready to play after Christmas when Coach Sanders gets all the kinks worked out. He is a good coach!

It should be a good year for 7A and 8A basketball.

Good ballgame tonight by both teams. May be a sign of what G-Ville can do. A lot of players stepping-up...a total team effort. Good job. Keep it going!

  12. It will depend on the boys buying into new coach's system. Football boys will report today. We will see how many of them are in shape when Coach Ross gets them. From what I have heard he and Coach Harris implements a program to get these players in shape. Once the football team gets on the program we may be a good team. Still have to put the ball in the basket and score to win. This team will thrive off of defense and getting turnovers.

Only time will tell. Hopefully will work out the kinks in the first two away games (Eagleville and MTCS) before Gordonsville comes to FCS on Dec 3rd

It may take the G-men some time to get going. They will only be playing about 8 players in the Hall of Fame games. They have 1 starter and other key players still in football. They may not be back in time for the Dec. 3 game. We will have to wait and see. Should be an exciting season. RBS will be hard to beat. TC has a good group returning. Any way you look at it...it is going to be fun. Good luck to all.
