  1. Well KEV-0....This years team was made up of mostly Soph's and Jr's and yes they stumbled at a bad time..but Hey it Happens. So injoy your moment in time. You know its funny were not even playin and yet we still get talked about ...HHHMMMM..wonder what that means /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> OOHHH!!!..yea ...THS don,t bow down to no one.. get beat sometimes , but not bow down ...never /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

This is true. Someone said we can bring up the past, but it doesn't matter.Well, no one is bringing up the past because until this year Greeneville didn't matter. TN High and South are 2 teams you can count on EVERY year to be good. And it is going to stay that way. TN High doesn't have to talk trash, they can let their record speak for themselves,as can South. Greeneville people apparently feel like they need to talk trash, since they haven't shut up about Greeneville all year, and well, I guess no one has given them a reason to,until this Friday. And don't judge me,I am neither a South nor TN High fan,I am a Central fan, and being in their conference you have to respect what they do every year, and that is what we are striving for.

Also, I am expecting a coming out party for Souths Defense this Friday. Not to mention too many big plays for Souths offense. They may stop Phillips and Fletcher for a while, but ya can't stop them, you can only hope to contain them.

  2. Ever since the Greeneville loss, South has been a machine. I don't see that changing. Those 185 pound def tackles told South what they were doing wrong, well,I am sure they have changed that. South will come out with more emotion than they have had all year and that Curt Phillips train will get rolling, and once it gets rolling, its tough to stop.

    South-35

    Greeneville-14

Also,I think Red Bank upsets Maryville and we get a South Red Bank matchup in the Semi's.

  3. I'll respect that. This was the first game I have seen,so I guess I shouldn't judge too fast. I just figured, round of 16 in the playoffs, and it was a pretty good game,I was expecting cheers all the time. If Andre Sterling is on your team, you should be excited and making up cheers just to show other crowds how awesome he is. I'll try and catch that game, because with that big of a turn out, there is some great opportunities. And the amtosphere was still great, some of the pre game pageantry was great,Farragut had one of the coolest entrances I had seen in a while, and DB has the coolest band in the state. Good atmosphere, but if you want to beat Bearden, you guys are going to have to be more excited and give yourself a true home field advantage.

  4. Great game on both ends. Sterling is a stud,I don't know what UT is thinking not recruiting him hard. I hope they don't make the same mistake with Sensabaugh. Farragut was just massive almost everywhere, that line was making holes that at times anybody could run through. Also,#20 provides a great change of pace back, there are athletes everywhere on that team.

On another note,Farragut has by FAR the worst student section I have ever seen. They had the section full, and all they did was go there for a little social event, those 3 guys stood out there with their shirts off and froze to death and ended up just making a fool of themself because no one followed their cheers or had nay enthusiasm. I don't see how thats possible to not get more excited about a team with this much talent.

  5. Well said Cougarfan... and how are those cougars shaping up this season? I usually know and talk to a few cougars each year, but I have been so busy with everything but basketball this year that I haven't had the time or energy to keep up in the know...ya know? Anyways.... Good Luck to your Cougars and see you at the games. GOD BLESS!!!!

Central will be dangerous. You better beat them before they hit their stride though. They can beat anybody on any given night, but could maybe get upset any given night. Their starters will have maybe started a total of 2 games among them, however, they play well together, and once they get some experience and confidence can be scary. They will also be scrappy, and run and gun like someone alluded to earlier. Looking forward to the Volunteer game, should be a pretty exciting matchup with a little added incentive on both sides now after Volunteer ending our season last year.

    Best of luck to all /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  6. I heard ELi Bible got suspended from school. I am not sure on any details so don't hold me to that, but thats the rumor.

Its unfortunate T High's season had to end so soon, that was a heck of a team, but so is Volunteer. Congratulations to them, good job handling it with class Tenn High, and best of luck to Volunteer in the next round.

  7. What a great game. One of the most enjoyable games I have watched in a while. As far as Oak Ridge goes. Watching number 5 run was so exciting, and his hit on Taylor was one of the hardest hits I have ever seen. That kid is probably weighing about 140 pounds and he just brought the heavy on that one. Number 4 and 2 were also great athletes, who made you hold your breath if they got their hands on it. I hate they had to lose, and I know that coach is going to get killed on here for those timeouts, but it was make or break, sometimes kids gotta line up right.

As far as DB,Sensabaugh is a stud, and Dukart makes plays. I really enjoy watching them play, and I wish them the best of luck against Farragut.

  8. TN High relies on big plays. It surprised me they had trouble running on Central until about the end of the third when Central wore down. If TN High has turnovers against South like they did tonight South wins. TN High has the best front 4 in the conference on Defense but I don't think they have the speed to contain Phillips, with the exception of Bible. TN High has to win the turnover battle, and get some big plays on offense to win.

    THS-14

  9. The question is if East is physical enough to beat Johnson County. Johnson County can be ran at. Up the gut. But they are fast and its tough to run outside on them. So East has to run the ball and score touchdowns on drives. If Prudhomme is healthy for JoCo they have serious big play ability. So I think JoCo has the speed advantage, but East has the physicality advantage. However, I think JoCo's speed and big plays wins out. And they win a squeaker.

    JoCo-28

    East-20

  10. Heard about the Unicoi game against East. Sounds like a tough loss, but a very good game. From a Central fan,Unicoi has done a great job building a team that can compete week in and week out,and it seems like these last 2 senior classes could be laying a great foundation for helping Unicoi build a program in the future. Best of luck to you all in the last 2 weeks.

  11. Congrats again to the Cougars, and sackmasterstlouis, nice job on the postgame interview I saw.

One thing, though. Don't let your QB, I believe it was the QB, get in front of a TV camera and say "this might have been our last chance to get a win". Pump that guy up a little, OK?

    Good job, Cougars!

Sackmasterstlouis is not the St. Louis that plays for Central. However, congratulations to the Cougars, after all the tough losses, they finally pulled one out, this is the type of game the other teams in the past would not have won. Central deserved it, and I feel like it is tough to not be happy for the guys there. Those juniors and seniors have been through alot, this may be the building block we need. Thanks for the support buc, next task to make you a proud alumni is take vulgarity out of the student section during basketball and add wit,I think that will happen also.

  12. And what chip would be on their shoulder, unless you are talking about them wanting to prove they are the real deal?

That sounds pretty good to me. After Greeneville I am pretty sure a lot of people felt like they could beat South,so now South has something to prove, and as we saw against Johnson County, that could be scary. And it sounds like Volunteer found a way to stop Masters, and no one this year has found a way to stop Phillips.

  13. If Boone stops Phillips then Boone can take the win, If SS stops Masters then SS takes the win. Boone needs to be able to stop the QB scramble, the short pass, an the long ball. South's D needs to hold there ground against Boone's Oline an not get blown off the ball.

Stops Phillips? Let's rephrase that,if Boone can limit Phillips to about 200 yards of total offense and 2 touchdowns, they have a chance. However this South team is playing with a huge chip on their shoulder,South jumps on Boone early, forces Boone to throw, and wins by 3 touchdowns or more.

    South-35

    Boone-14

  14. Sloppy, sloppy game for Boone. Four fumbles. Only lost one, though. Lucky there.

Defense had some trouble tackling early. Have to do better against Volunteer.

Nice fake punt on the first possession.

Fumbled on our own 5 yd. line to set up the Central TD.

Nice TD pass from White to Nick Jones. All day to throw and all day to catch on that play.

Bad news: Cameron Jarrett went in at RB for one possession, but tore the knee up again deep in Central territory. Probably done now, I would think. Don't know what was hurting him more, the knee, or finishing the career.

Central didn't look as bad as I expected, moved the ball pretty well a few times. Their defense was pretty good in the first half, but wore down, I think.

It is pretty tough for Central. They only play about 16 guys a night. Boone's smashmouth style wore on them. Boone might be pretty darn good too, based on the Greeneville South game.

Also,I thought the Jarrett injury was a cramp. I may have been wrong but I thought that is what I heard from some players and parents. I hope he is able to play, its unfortunate such a good ball player had that happen to him.

Best of luck to both teams for the rest of the year.

  15. Some of you all should be ashamed of yourself. To call out 15,16,and 17 year old kids like this is ridiculous. Let them play the game. If you ask the majority of kids why they play its because they enjoy it,that is always why I played, and during one of my years of playing the parents absolutely ruined my year. They constantly were putting us down in the community, and constantly talked bad about the players and staff. If you truly think berading the team and kids like this is going to help, your sadly mistaken,I have no idea why any kids would want to play hard in front of fans who are going to talk about them like this.

  16. Duanah and Joslin did not play for Science Hill. Central scored first against I think Science Hill's first D. #44 was in the game at least. And then they had trouble doing anything on offense after that. Science Hill scored 3 times against Central's first defense. Tough to tell if Science Hill's line will be able to hold up against a good 5A team. They will have more trouble with South than I first thought. Unless Duanah is a freak, and based on what I have heard and what he looks like he can do,he might just be that.
