    Travis Leonard, 152...

    Matt Sharpe, 215...

That's all I know so far

  2. I just checked the results for Greco and I don't think anyone from Tennessee placed in the Cadet or Junior division. As far as I know the only Tennessee contestants for Greco are Logan Biddy (Cadet 119) David Mang (Junior 130 not 125) and Ryan Konz (Junior 145)

Freestyle results aren't posted yet, as it just started today.

If you want the complete results go to themat.com and on the right it says Fargo Cadet & Junior Event Coverage.

It will have a list of the different divisions so you can click on the one you want. A page will come up and on the left side it says Results. Under that it says team results. If you click on it you can select a state and it will show you everyone's match record from that state.

The finals are also posted on themat.

  3. As of Sunday 6 pm David Mang was still in the greco(?) He and Logan Biddy will start the freestyle part Tuesday.

What ever happened to Demetrius Johnson? He's been going to Fargo for the last two years at least but I haven't heard his name mentioned since State.

  4. could someone please update us on Fargo?

As soon as I find the results I'll post them. The tournament should be finished by Thursday or Friday I think.

I did see the name Kelly Felix listed as a participant but I think he was going to a family reunion or something.

David Mang was listed at 125 and Ryan Konz at 145.

  5. Mr. Marable's name is Tom, Michael is his oldest son. I believe Jose Delgado is head of TWF, but like it was posted earlier, Fargo has already started.

    oops you're right

  6. My sister is wanting to go to fargo and wrestle in the girls division. What does she have to do or who does she need to talk to>?

You have to have a USA Wrestling membership card to be eligible I think. Talk to whoever runs the local off season practices in your area. If you're near Chatanooga talk to coach Steve Henry at Soddy Daisy High School. In middle Tennessee there is coach Jeramie Welder at Franklin High. If you're in Memphis see Michael Marable. He's the head of the TWF. These are the big wrestling clubs I know about. They should be able to hook you up or your sister.

Actually as of now it's probably too late for the Fargo. (It started today I think.) But there might be another Virginia Beach tournament this year and maybe they have a girls division, though it won't be as prestigious as the Fargo Classic. Don't worry it's not too late to get your sister into a national tournament. Check themat.com or usawrestling.com. They'll probably have listings of tournaments in case you missed the Fargo.

    Good luck!

  7. Yeah the 8th grader is from Greenback. The other 8th graders are Alex Manley from Baylor, Mark Simpson from MBA, and TJ Duncan from McCallie. There may be more but those are the ones I know of. By the way there's a 103 or 112 from Father Ryan named Anthony Simpson (I don't know how old he is). I wonder if he's coach Patrick Simpson's son which would make him cousin to John Michael and the others.

  8. the 8th grader is out of Greenback right

Yeah but he's gonna have a tough time getting the training he needs. Doesn't Greenback have like 200 kids in the whole school? Plus there aren't a lot of strong wrestling programs in that area. Jeremy can do it, but he's gonna have a tougher time staying on top than Alex Manley or TJ Duncan since they go to top schools and the toughest tournaments. Jeremy I guess will have to make up for it by getting as much experience on the national level as possible.

  9. Have you talked to Tim Deaton? I remember he was moving away but then changed his mind or something. I think he was working as some kind of health director at Independence High School but he's always been really involved in wrestling during his free time. Also you could talk to Dan McDonald. I think he lives kinda far away and probably has a full time job but I don't know for sure. Worth a try. Both these guys are great coaches with a lot of experience with the sport. They both taught me and Smiley a lot.

  10. Out of all the wrestlers in Tennessee who will be the most dominant in the future like in college?

From class of 2007 we have among others Ben Johnson, Brandon Wright, Demetrius Johnson, Daniel Waddell, Darius Williams, Justin Spain, John Michael Simpson, and about half the soddy daisy team. Most of these guys have placed nationally sometime during their high school careers. I know Demetrius placed in some freestyle and greco tournaments that some people might not know about. Brandon Wright had the most success this past year with his 4th place finish at sr nationals so I guess that makes him the leader of the pack. But what about our younger guys? Who has the most potential? Offhand, I'd say Jake Young from Ooltlewah has to be #1 since he beat the national champion Danny Tolbert (who was a sophomore at the time) at regions and Jake was only a freshman! But don't forget about the trio of 8th grader 103 medalists and of course the infamous TJ Duncan.

Agree? Disagree? Who wants to talk about this?

  11. I really need help with this site. I can't figure out how to make any posts, threads, or replies on the wrestling forum. I sent an email regarding this but I think I forgot to mention it was the wrestling forum that was giving me trouble. The other forums are working I guess because I sent a reply on some Ultimate Frisbee thread just to see if it would work and it did. So what's why won't the wrestling forum give me permission to post anything? I'm already completely registered and subscribed. I don't see what else I can do to get permission to post.

Please someone send a reply so at the very least I'll know there's someone out there listening. You can email me too. My user name on this site is wosbodog and my email address is pscau@comcast.net.

Oh yeah just now I tried to add one of the smiley face icons but instead this happened:

    <_<

As you can probably tell I don't know the first thing about using chat sites like this so that's why I really need someone to respond.

    Thanks. :roflol:

hey the smiley worked after all! When I was typing and tried to add a smiley it just said :)
